Wonder whether it's possible to support the surrounding ecosystem in a way that makes it more resillient and less hospitable to the invading Himalayan Balsam

This plants extremely helpful to bees at a time when they're asking everybody to help bees it flowers later in the year when there aren't many native wildflowers for bees and it's quite pretty

Agreed Jess although they can take over huge areas and blanket out a whole range of native plants which provide food over a longer period and are more varied. .

Bees are important for environment, so let some plants die & get the sweet honey ❤❤

Hello Bob. It thrives beside Waterways for seed dispersal. It can grow elsewhere however with the possibility of seeds spreading it would need to be closely managed.

If it helps the bees why not leave it, Do they not need it?

It takes over and grows in stands squeezing out other plants. It dies back for winter and shallow roots expose the area to erosion. Thankfully not as difficult to eradicate as japanese knotweed.
