Agreed Jess although they can take over huge areas and blanket out a whole range of native plants which provide food over a longer period and are more varied. .
Hello Bob. It thrives beside Waterways for seed dispersal. It can grow elsewhere however with the possibility of seeds spreading it would need to be closely managed.
@@offalyheritage thank you kindly.. I would rather have this than normal weeds that don't really look good or do anything.. I think the bee's would love this old I think it looks beautiful...
It takes over and grows in stands squeezing out other plants. It dies back for winter and shallow roots expose the area to erosion. Thankfully not as difficult to eradicate as japanese knotweed.

Bees are important for environment, so let some plants die & get the sweet honey ❤❤
How about miles away from a river in a area that's covered in stinging nettles... Dandelions etc etc... Could I not plant it not be planted there....
