What can be done when we get a response saying, 'we cannot confirm who you're' ??

Ensure you're entering the correct Government Gateway ID, National Insurance number (NI number), and date of birth. Typos or mistakes can cause verification failures.
If the above steps don't work, reach out to Government Gateway support for assistance. They can help with forgotten login details or troubleshoot technical issues. You can find their contact information on the [GOV.UK Verify help page](www.gov.uk/government/publications/introducing-govuk-verify/introducing-govuk-verify although GOV.UK Verify itself is no longer in use).

    How to fill without surname.

If you have a commonly used surname (e.g., a middle name or a partner's surname), you could try using that as your surname on the HMRC account. However, be aware that this might cause issues in the future. The HMRC helpline can provide specific guidance on your situation. They might be able to assist you in setting up an account without a surname or provide alternative verification methods.

As a full-time student working less than 20 hours a week, you generally don't need to pay income tax.
A tax code of '6' is typically used when there's insufficient information about your income, and it results in higher tax deductions. Contact Your Employer, Inform them of your student status and the tax code issue. Ask them to correct the information they've provided to HMRC. And you will get refund after 1 payrun. Any confusion, tell you employer to ask me if they are unaware how it works. No worries !!!
