    Not sure but I think your problem was possibly due to overcharging the battery from a dumb constant voltage charger that is permanently connected. Get one that's electronically controlled that will reduce charge to not over charge and is easily disconnected when using the equipment of battery being maintained.

      I think the two systems are simply fighting each other and the charging system eventually loses and fails.

      @@proclaimliberty2000 Correct that's why you need something that easily disconnects but won't overcharge like a Black an Decker, NOCO or Battery Tender. All are electronically controlled to never over charge with quick disconnect.

    A part of me things this applies to a lot of other things that have have alternators built in, not just cars. This has been my observation over the years as well. Now disconnect the battery all together
