I had a coworker who was a Jehovah's Witness. The day after my birthday I brought my office some slices of the cake my mother had baked for me. She told me she couldn't eat it because it was cake baked for a birthday celebration and her religion forbids celebrating birthdays. I tried to reason that the birthday was celebrated the day before and that this was just me sharing some cake w/ my coworkers, but she refused. She then said she'd have been able to eat it if it were cake baked for me simply because my mom loved me. I responded that that's exactly why she baked me the cake, for if she didn't love me she wouldn't have done anything for my birthday, let alone cook.
Religion: cultivating idiocy since the dawn of time.

This is one of those religions that the Internet should have destroyed years ago. It's origin and past mistakes are literally there for all to see, and yet they, like Mormons and Scientologists, refuse to see it...or believe it. Even when I was raised as a Jehovah's witness, it didn't make sense. And the the everlasting life thing? I'm not one who wants to die anytime soon, but the thought of living forever didn't even appeal to me as a kid. That's a fate worse than death.

If you ever got even the smallest taste of the infinite joy and exhileration, you might feel differently about eternal life. God is real. So is His Power. He does bless some with experiences, some more than others. Some because their faith is weakening. Many He does not have to do so because their faith is to strong.

    • @curtisrodriguez938
      @curtisrodriguez938 10 років тому +1

Laurence, you might just have that evidence if you sought God with a humble heart. I would be happy to share what I know and what I have experienced with you.

    • @curtisrodriguez938
      @curtisrodriguez938 10 років тому

That is fine if you are not interested. I would just note that I was unaware that Scientology had any doctrine regarding the power of God as it was created by a failed Sci-Fi writer who before starting Scientology had said that the way to get rich was to start a religion. I will wish you peace.

    • @curtisrodriguez938
      @curtisrodriguez938 10 років тому

My faith is based upon the Old and New Testament and the revelation of Jesus Christ in them. That includes the presence of the Holy Spirit and God''s power. It is not fantasy or some fairy tale. It is not for me to force anyone else to believe me. I can only speak to my life and my experience.
So if anyone wants to come along 1800 years later and claim to have the answers, I will scrutinize them to see if they contradict or distort what I have received before.
So if someone comes along and claims a parchment is some form of Egyptian language depicting some story in the Old Testamemt and Egyptian scholars indicate that it is something else, then that creates a problem. If scripture says something else and someone else comes along and says the opposite, it is on them to prove that it is so.If someone wants to claim Native Americans are the lost tribes of israel, then DNA should be able to pove it. If it does not, it invalidates that claim. If a group claims to speak for God and prophecy and it does not happen, their claims lose validation.
To quote Forrest Gump, that is all I have to say about that.

    • @curtisrodriguez938
      @curtisrodriguez938 10 років тому +1

My experiences confirm my faith. Even Thomas had doubts and Jesus did not have a problem with that doubt but was willing to prove Himself to Thomas. If anyone seeks God with a humble heart, God will respond. He is not some dog and pony show to jump through hoops to meet anyone's challenge.
My bias does not affect reality. My belief in anything does not create a thing anymore than my disbelief does not destroy a thing.
Perhaps you should examine your own bias. Your willingness to dismiss something without knowng what it is says quite a bit.

Dude! That was crazy good - I loved it! My mother is joining the Jehovah’s Witnesses getting baptized on Sunday and we just had a huge blowout about it because I told her I don’t wanna hear anything about it that I don’t believe in any of it and I asked her to stop talking to me about it. And she said you won’t even let me talk to you about my religious principles? Something thar means so much to me? So, I said do you want to sit down and talk to me about my Buddhist principles?? Or how abt the belief in some pagan teachings and rituals? And she was like you know I do not want to hear about anything like that. So… I’m like well then why would I wanna listen to what you have to say about your religious beliefs, whenI don’t believe in it? And it just goes back to exactly the two ladies you talked about! Ugh. Such a cult! This is crazy and I don’t know how to stop it!!!

My grandfather was JW. I stopped going to visit because of the constant degrading of my Catholic religion that I was born into. It was non stop dogging me out calling me a pagan. He waited until I was 12 to start this shit when I was able to understand. Them mom stepped in and ripped his ass. He hated anything fun. He also never attended a single wedding, birthday or Christmas of any of his many grandchildren. He is the reason I have zero respect for the JW.

If someone pointed out 5 stupid things about me specifically, I'd be grateful. I'm always looking for ways to improve myself.
If someone pointed out 5 stupid things about something I believed in, I'd be even more grateful, because that would give me a chance to consider things from another perspective I might not have on my own. If their points were accurate and reasonable, I'd question my beliefs, and if I found they were wrong, I'd owe a life debt to the person who helped me to realise that.

+Kayleigh Nestor Sorry but no they're not. Sounds like you got a sweet deal but my experience has not at all been the same. An invitation to return to a god that I don't at all believe in is not a solution to the problems that those who don't believe in invisible beings face. My sister went to college and the amount of judgement that she receives from others in the religion is astounding. I know that if I were to tell my family that I don't believe in god, the last thing that they would do is send me off to college. They would force me to the best of their ability to believe in him. These are true and incredibly painful to live through since I want to have a future and an education.

chante smith The jay dubs DO claim to be the only Christians. I'm an exJW, smart guy. Do some research before handing out the ad hominems.
And for the record, my own Weltanschauung is in flux. I became Catholic five years after leaving the Jehovahs because it was the traditional spirituality of my people until the Reformation, but I, frankly, vacillate between unbelief and theism at times.
My best advice to young people is a quote from Joseph Campbell: Follow your Bliss!"
To members of the BLTGQ community, I would be most cautious about letting homophobic religions and worldviews get into your mind and heart.
To atheists: I do not blame you one bit for demanding extraordinary proof before you accept as truth extraordinary claims, but you miss out on the highs, the joys of theism.
I can explain and elaborate my own Weltanschauung upon request.
"The Glory of God is Man Alive!" Direct Quote from St. Iranaeus
'The Glory of God is the Human Person Fully Alive!' Paraphrased version for them wishing gender-neutral verbiage.

Just to be explicit: I hope you took my humor in the light-hearted spirit intended. I would suggest that you earnestly examine the reasons for you being a Jehovah's witness. Study the psychology of the JWs. Dr. Jerry Bergman is a great expert on this. You may wish to study your people's traditional spirituality, and the traditional spirituality of African-Americans is mainly Baptist, with a sizeable minority of Catholics.
Also, you may wish to learn more about your people's pre-Christian indigenous spiritualties.
I know that the Governing Body does not like it when Jehovah Witnesses check out other religions and atheism, and shunning can be very damaging, so be careful.
      Good luck!

I am Christian and taught to love all, but seriously, these guys annoy the living crap out of me. Okay, you CAN go around town preaching. Good for you, to me, more people believe in Jesus and God. But if someone has a sign that says "NO SOLICITING" on their door, it means NO SOLICITING. They come up and act like it says "NO SOLICITING (Unless you're a Jehovah's Witness)." And when I was a kid at my grandparents' house, just doing my thing, (mind you my grandparents still have "No Soliciting" signs on their doors), they still came and preached, despite my grandmother's protests (and she is a hardcore Christian. She's probably read the Bible a million times). And guess what they said after my grandmother snapped and told them to get off her property: "Remember He will punish you and that He will only take 11,000 people to Heaven." As a Christian CHILD, that scared the crap out of me for almost a whole year. I agree that they ridicule and abandon those who Believe in God and Jesus... And especially when you having a SEVEN-YEAR-OLD right in the room, yeah, not nice.

The bible clearly states that no man knows the hour, no not even the son (Jesus) but only the father; this is in reference to the end of the world. So if ANYONE predicts the end of the world you have to not take them seriously. How can you guarantee something when in the bible it says that nobody knows when this will happen? JW's are nice people and do no harm to people just because they preach door to door.

David Bouman Hey David nobody can prove God is real, they are pretty stupid if they think they can. It is a matter of seeing what the bible has managed to predict and the science contained in the scriptures. So many things were only recently, in recent history anyway, discovered BUT they had been in there for years, springs under the sea for example, only in the late seventies yet the bible mentioned them back in Genesis. You don't normally see electricity but you see it has power and could receive a shock from it. Creation shows that a designer made life, and loads more. It would be impossible to explain the bible in a few words here so that's why I study it daily And just for the record my parents, one is dead, are NOT and never were JW's and NEVER went to church. I chose to become a JW in my late thirties and it was MY choice not some pushy person telling me what to believe.

The most egregiously "stupid" thing is probably their 2 witnesses rule eg. if a child comes forward and tells an elder that someone has sexually molested/abused them and there were not 2 witnesses to the abuse, then nothing will be done and in fact they have a secret elders book which tells them not to call the authorities. They view pedophilia as a sin which can be repented rather than a crime which should be legally punished. However, smoking will get you disfellowshipped.

The 3 stupid things I would add to your 5 and that bother me the most about JW's is the fact they shun all military service and don't believe in or recognize national flags and my #1 problem with it is they force their children to do without any holidays or celebrations like birthdays or Halloween, Christmas, Easter or any holiday that MAY have a pagan origin. I grew up next door to two JW brothers who were the same age as my brother and I and I felt so badly for them that they never knew what it was to have a birthday or get presents at Christmas or candy at Easter or to dress up and go trick or treating with the neighborhood kids. To me that is grossly unfair to their children.

Yeah lovely people but bizarre. I had a chat with a couple of them who knocked on my door a couple of weeks ago. I asked them what the deal was with the whole only allowing 144,000 people in heaven? Hasn't the quota already been reached? They said 'oh it's not that we believe there's only 144,000 people allowed in heaven it's a common misunderstanding. When Christ returns there will be a holy government who rules over the earth after the apocalypse that will have 144,000 people in it'
    Oh...that...errr...clears things up then....

I think they mean that this new "government" doesn't only allow 144,000 people, it's just that the number of people who make it happen to be 144,000 according to their prophecies.

there must be confusion because I never said that only 144000 are to be in paradise earth, 144000 are supposed to be in heaven helping Jesus govern, paradise earth is earth replenished and heaven stays heaven in the sky according to JW's teachings.
The main thing is, I don't believe that inventing or pushing details like that is important in faith, but using those non proven points to make yourself the only true godly organization on earth is not right, like using wrong scriptures to justify points that the Bible doesn't talk about. I believe in the goodness of many of them, I love them and pray for them daily, I also believe the problem is trying to absolutely materialize, judge and measure faith. It creates a lot of hypocrisy and lies, control and competition, manipulations and injustices in a godly organization...When a woman can not divorce or remarry because she can't get the approval of the organization??? when your kids are used to spy on you? wen people drop by to make sure you do not take part to a celebration they don't believe in? CONTROL, CONTROL, CONTROL AND THE PROMOTION OF IGNORANCE.

My father was raised Catholic, became a Jehovah's Witness, and is now Evangelical/Fundamentalist/non-denominational (whatever you want to call a simply Bible-believing Christian). The blood-transfusion thing comes from a verse that prohibits the drinking of blood (not the same thing). He needed an operation that would have removed his cancer, but the doctor was not going to do it without blood transfusions (too risky). He eventually did have the operation, but the church caused him to wait much longer. As a result, the cancer wasn't completely taken out and he still has a benign form today. My mother blames the Jehovah's Witnesses for his still having cancer (for good reason). The Catholics believe that communion turns into the blood and body of Jesus (not sure about the details there). If it really does become his blood and body, well that would be 1) cannibalism, and 2) contradictory to that verse about not consuming blood. My father is an apostate of the Watchtower Society and would probably be excommunicated from the Catholic Church.

I'm a Jehovah's Witness. You have my attention.
These topics are very deep and profound, and people can easily get their facts mixed up. I will try to explain this the best I can. I will even use Bible Scriptures to let you know that these are not just things that we "made up." They come right out of the Christian Bible.
One, we don't believe 1914 was the year that _God_ established his kingdom... we believe that that was the year that _Jesus began ruling_ in Heaven. Please don't confuse those two.
Now, what happened on July 28th, 1914?
    World War I broke out.
Something that monumental and catastrophic can't be ignored. We believe that 1914 was the year that Jesus because the Bible says that's when Satan was finally cast out of heaven, and brought to Earth, where he is now casting ruin across the Earth ever since then.
You might say, "But how did you _get_ the year 1914?"
Answer: a really long math problem in the Bible.
This article will better explain how we found that math problem in the Bible than I ever could in this comment.
    www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/wp20141001/gods-kingdom-prophecy-1/#?insight[search_id]=3d5fc913-f354-41ef-b405-abe9294cc50d&insight[search_result_index]=7
It comes in two parts. Be sure to read the second part.
Two, Leviticus 17:14 and Acts 15:20. It is quite clear. Abstain from blood. It's pretty easy to understand.
Genesis 9:4. God allowed Noah and his family to add animal flesh to their diet after the Flood but commanded them not to eat the blood. God told Noah: “Only flesh with its soul-its blood-you must not eat.” This command applies to all mankind from that time on because all are descendants of Noah.
Leviticus 17:14. “You must not eat the blood of any sort of flesh, because the soul of every sort of flesh is its blood. Anyone eating it will be cut off.” God viewed the soul, or life, as being in the blood and belonging to him. Although this law was given only to the nation of Israel, it shows how seriously God viewed the law against eating blood.
Acts 15:20. “Abstain . . . from blood.” God gave Christians the same command that he had given to Noah. History shows that early Christians refused to consume whole blood or even to use it for medical reasons.
God commands Christians to abstain from blood because blood is sacred to him. It is the source of life.
Would we rather displease God and lose out on living forever, or gain temporary life on this awful Earth for just 60 - 90 years longer?
A better question would be: would you rather have one cookie before dinner now, or five of them later after dinner?
Which of these do you think any little kid is going to choose?
We choose to obey God also because there will be a Resurrection anyway of everyone who has ever lived on Earth. ("Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.") - John 5:28, 29. Once that happens, the Earth will be restored to a global paradise. Where did we get this? The Bible. ("The meek ones will posses the Earth." - Psalms 37:11, "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.” - Psalms 37:29).
The reward for good people is not Heaven, and the punishment for wicked people is not Hell. We just go back into the ground until the Resurrection. It's like sleeping.
("His spirit goes out, he returns to the ground; On that very day his thoughts perish.") -Psalms 146:4.
("For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all.") - Ecclesiastes 9:5.
How can you know whether or not you are enjoying yourself in Heaven, or being burned alive in hellfire? You don't, apparently, because you go to neither place.
Three, we do not discipline by "shunning."
Let's first take a look at what the word shunning means.
Shun: to persistently avoid, ignore, or reject (someone or something) through *antipathy* or caution.
We don't have ANTIPATHY for the disfellowshipped person. We are _deeply_ affected when one of our brothers or sisters commits such a serious sin and doesn't show repentance. It grieves us, and we try to _help them._
If someone is unrepentant with the sin of what he/she did, be it sexual immorality, stealing, smoking, drugs, etc., the elders in the congregation (those who are appointed to make decisions for the congregation) tell everyone not to talk him/her. It is supposed to serve as a lesson in the severity of they had done.
This is not some "stupid" thing that we just made up off the top of our heads. The Bible tells us to do this...
("Moreover, if your brother commits a sin, go and reveal his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two more, so that on the testimony of two or three witnesses every matter may be established. If he does not listen to them, speak to the congregation. If he does not listen even to the congregation, let him be to you just as a man of the nations and as a tax collector.") - Matthew 18:15-17.
Another reason we don't associate with disfellowshipped people is to help protect the wellfare of the congregation. Because if you keep associating with someone who keeps doing these things that we're not supposed to be doing, their attitude will rub off on you. You start to view their attitude as" not so bad," and then YOU decide to eventually take part in it, and whoops! Next thing you know, they have become a bad influence for you... for 1 Corinthians 15:33 states, "Bad associations spoil useful habits," and 1 Corinthians 5:13 says to, "Remove the wicked man from among yourselves."
When you said, "It teaches people (religiously inclined people, I am going to assume) that the worst possible sin you can commit is violating the rules of your church."
No... we are trying to reinforce that that the worst possible sin you can commit is violating the rules of _God_, if somebody chooses to be religiously orientated in the first place.
    Is that not so?
Do churches today discipline their members for any wrongdoings? No. In fact, nothing is done. And then said person could be smoking and gambling and drinking behind closed doors, but then come to church all prim and polished.
    THAT is hypocrisy.
We are not hypocritical. Our religion is not some "easy A" someone is going to take just to pass, or one that is going to be extremely lenient with its members. We do not do just what any old church in Christendom would do, and that is allow anybody and everybody to do whatever they want, as long as they come to church on Sunday. We're not like that. We strive not to be like that. If somebody continues to do whatever they want, and go down a wayward course, then you can obviously see that some discipline in hopes to gain them back must take place.
We love the members of our congregation, and we want them to know that we mean business when God says NOT to do something. It serves as a way for them to "think about what they've done."
Any loving parent who has ever set their child in time-out would find it completely acceptable to discipline their children in such a manner.
Fourth, it is not that we don't care about higher education. We greatly love education, and what we have to offer to people can be viewed as the greatest education of all. We discourage higher education because for one: it takes up too much time and money for a Christian when we should be focused on "the more important things." (Philippians 1:10). ESPECIALLY if this world is not going to be here much longer. Will there be a need for doctors in the future if no one is going to get sick? No. So what is the point? Will there be a need for lawyers in the future if true justice is going to be delivered? No. So once again, what is the point?
And, a Jehovah's Witness' life is almost never free. We never really have time for ourselves. We always put people first. We have our weekly meetings to prepare for, field service to attend- which SHOULD take up the majority of our time, teaching other people about God- people to come back to to talk some more about God, secular jobs to attend. On top of all that, if a brother or sister pursued higher education, it could really harm their growth as a Christian. They will start to worry more about their secular classes, rather than putting God first in their lives.
Plus, a lot of college courses teach wayward courses that oppose Bible beliefs such as the Big Bang and evolution. That would be a major concern for us if Witness parents are going to send their children off to school. It is even starting to find its way into high school and being delivered as fact, which also has some Christian parents concerned.
    Fifth...
    We are not a cult.
We do not serve "The Society." We serve Jehovah, our God.
Jehovah is ultimately the One who runs our organization. Not any man or human. But the fact whether or not you believe in God is besides the point. I just took the time to explain some of our beliefs to help you better understand what we're all about. Some of the facts you got were a little askew, and I just wanted to correct you on a few points. I hope this information has helped.

I've been studying with a Witness, and he encouraged me to take college courses in the time I don't have a job. In fact, a lot of Witnesses I know are successful in their field of work and many of them have gone to college. So I don't know where you get number 4.

      M. Strain Jr. That was a policy that they have changed a couple of years ago, but they used to heavily encourage their members to not go to college but devote themselves to jehovah(i,e going out in service and studying with people, or serving at bethel).
Their reasoning behind this was because of "the end" that is just around the corner. Or at least that was what they were telling us 30 years ago.

    • @mstrainjr
      @mstrainjr 9 років тому +1

Forbidden Beard Yeah.... And it really makes sense if you want to live a missionary's life. Christians aren't supposed to be rich with worldly possessions anyway, so I can see where they're coming from.
The problem is that they trust too much in their faulty interpretations, and then they stick to their guns at times. They have to continue on with the whole 1914 thing because a lot of their members would lose faith if the General Authority comes out and says that the whole thing was wrong. Kind of like if mainstream churches came out and told the truth about Jesus (as told in the Bible).
Personally, I think that if the endtimes were to occur as the Bible says, we're not there yet. There's still much more that needs to happen, but I can see signs of some of those things having already begun.
Regardless of whether or not you believe in the Bible, I believe it's a good policy to live each day as if it may be your last. Would you squander your day, or spend that time improving yourself or helping others?

+M. Strain Jr. I'm currently stuck being the child of jehovah's witnesses and I don't have any option but to stay in this religion disproven by science and reason. College discouragement is not something that they still explicitly state but they say just about anything they can to discourage it. My sister went to college and the amount of judgement that she received despite still regularly attending meetings was shocking. It is thought to indicate lack of faith or pursuit of all that is worldly, even if that's not what people officially say, its basically what they're thinking.

+Alex Tejas Your situation is unfortunate. The way it's set up, they scare you into staying with the Witnesses, or else you pretty much lose your family. But if you stay there, you'll be very unhappy and just be going through the motions to please others. If the God of the Bible does exist, he knows your heart anyway, so you're not fooling him. It's a personal choice you will have to make, but my suggestion is to be true to yourself and not live a life of religious imprisonment just to make others happy.

Having no way to live on my own or pay for college tuition, I don't have any other choice but to stay prisoner of this religion so as to not be homeless. Trust me, I would love to take your suggestion and I have considered it at length, but this terrible shun culture gives me no options.

Despite what he said here, such a skin color would not be impossible for that region. However due to climate there would be a lot of tanning involved, especially in those days. Back then only the highest members of society would have been able to "afford" staying indoors enough to stay that pale. Someone with a carpenter's background like the biblical Jesus probably would have been at least medium brown in the face and limbs.
Also I noticed that for many Americans "white" seems to mean "looking like you could be a native of England."

So, since a blood transfusion does not end up in the belly then it is not food. What does the Bible say about human sacrifice? Not taking basic medical treatment amounts to that. The "sacrement" is once a year; it is called memorial. Only the elect-144,000 drink the blood. So, at most congregations no one drinks the wine at a memorial service.

What you say is correct. The Watchtower has developed an incredible maze of rules regarding what is and isn't allowed in the surgery room, for their members to follow.
It would be like banning eating of entire sandwiches, but allowing people to eat bread, ham, cheese and mayonnaise separately but not together.

There's another one that always bothered me about JW's.....They don't celebrate. No b-days, no Christmas, no halloween dressing up or participating, no normal celebratory American pastimes at all. What a lousy way to grow up! We had a family as neighbors when I was a kid and they had 2 boys the same age as my brother and I and I always felt bad for them cause they never got to have any fun. To top that off their mom and dad got them to believe they were superior to my brother and I.

As an ex Jehovah's Witness, I have seen everything that you mention in my own congregation...and then some. The elders put me on trial for asking too many questions that they never could/would answer and disfellowshipped my husband for smoking. SMOKING! I was even repremanded for letting my daughter pierce her ears. I dissasociated myself, researched/learned about organized religion and put it at the top of my $#!t list! Being shunned was horrible but it was worth it! I'm free!!!

I know a shit-ton of highly educated, well-off JWs that work hard as engineers, doctors, musicians, etc. They just also happen to spend a lot of time going from door to door, something they consider more important than money or fancy clothes. Also, you are not allowed to become a pioneer (full-time preacher) unless you have a job that can sustain you. That means the Witnesses appreciate the need for practical living and hard work.

I remember a few years ago some JW left a track on my fence. One thing you don't want to do, is give me something to read, & not want me to read it. Holy Trinity found that out the hard way. Anyway, they came back a few days later & asked me if I had any questions. I said, "Yes. It says here that only 144 will get into heaven. How egotistical are you to think after a 100 years of this cult, you're getting into heaven?" They broke the world 100 yd dash record, while sobbing. I got another one the other day, they changed it to 144,000. Like that's going to help.

Richard Meza--- yeah, I got a dose of JWs from a cousin of mine. Of course she had to introduce me to some of her friends that were just as weird and irritating as she was. One thing I picked up on right away, I have had much more intellectually stimulating conversations with 2nd graders than I have these ADULTS. When it came to smarts, their intelligence left a whole lot to be desired. I wonder if the ones over the age of 30 I met even finished junior high school.

I have a different opinion on all five of those facts.
1: The bible tells us to abstain from blood no matter what life or death. If you read this comment and have an August watchtower and awake magazines there is an article in one them that talks about a young women that was warned that if she didn't take blood she would die. The family wanted to see stay alive but stuck to their beliefs and didn't take blood. What happened, they called a professional surgeon to do the process. The young lady survived without taking blood. Also another reason is that the blood is also known as sacred and life. If you somehow consume blood then you eaten something sacred or taken away life so to speak. You can also get a disease which COULD KILL you. My advice to you is don't consume blood.
2: all the prophesies we say are based of the book of prophesies or the bible which have hundreds of prophesies mentioned. We don't make it up you think we do. Also Charles t. Wasn't a fraud it's he didn't have all the knowledge about the bible now. He could have never been a fraud over something he possibly did not know about.
3: Jesus blood was a symbol of his death it was never mentioned that it would save us. It's just said that observe the wine (blood) a something Jesus did to free us of our sins.
4: our religion isn't cult. Do you see blacks and whites fighting or shooting each other in the congregation. Didn't think so. The JW aren't racists or segregators. Every one and anyone is welcome to the Kingdom Hall IF they want to or not.
5: the disfellowshipping arrangement is a loving provision for the congregation. It keeps them safe by not associating with that one person. If they do they don't get disfellowshipped, they just gain more and more spiritual harm.
Family is different. The family can still associate with the member but not about spiritual aspects or any other bible related activities or events or teachings.
I hope I cleared it up. If you want you comment about my bible based beliefs with JW and if your going to say something bad about this or JW don't bother. I know you hate us then. Leave a like

To expand on the blood issue - for many years JWs were not allowed to take blood at all and many died including children who had no say ...but they are now allowing blood fractions. No one said anything about the people who died because they will say its ok that they sacrificed their lives and will get a ressurrection.

my main complaint is the shunning. my wife is a JW and she was shunned. her own son who was young but beginning to comprehend, began to be torn about it. this brought about tension in the marriage, tore the family apart, her other sons no longer go to the kingdom hall and was a disaster. she is reestablished now but damage was done. why not allow a person to exercise free will and com back willingly? i know countless examples. it's cruel and counterproductive. enough for me not to be JW

So, I extremely dislike any religion that does evangelical or missionary work like Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons (like when a bunch of Mormons tried posthumously baptizing a bunch of Jewish people that had passed or when they brought covid to a small island Nation in the Pacific that had been able to avoid all cases up until then. I will say thought, I have crippling chronic Lyme disease and my nurse, as well as my doctors receptionist, both whom I’ve known since age 16, I’m 29 now, and they are truly the kindest most loving and caring people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. In fact, I think my problem is more to do with Mormons but, I do dislike a lot about the JW church and their practices as well. I just happen to know two incredibly kind and loving members that have never once pushed their religion on me.

I totally understand your opinions, and you've probably heard this before, but do some more research. I've also been skeptical about the predictions, and JW has never said for sure that the end will come in a certain year. Also the thing about shunning people who leave: When it comes to Christians, most of them are baptised as children, but jehovah's witnesses aren't ALLOWED to be baptized unless they KNOW what they're entering. It's not like they have an excuse if they leave.

Its all about talking religions bad, because for example JW would leave to join another religion maybe right? i see all religion haters as a Serveant of Hitler, because Hitler hated Jewish people, God doesnt ask you to read bibles all day long you can have a conversation ofc, we arent perfect we know that as humans we all make mistakes, but just see it like this...
A war comes. You as an JW,Christian or w/e and an Muslim stands next together and can stop this war by pressing the same fuking buttons at the same time!! o wait............ we cant work together............ lets die and give up ...........
Right just no logical in all religion hatings, thats why there are Hitler Serveants ;)

this is a lie, you are lead and mislead and despite years of relationship and going to the Kingdom Hall, you never really know what you get in before you are baptized and have all those obligations and limitations. I have Love for them but they did predict the end of the world many times and pretend to know things that even God said nobody except him know.
You don't need to make up things you do not know to have faith and convince people! Nothing this man said in his video is a lie or hatred.
That must be an automatic defense shield: lie, denial, ignorance.

Bullying isn't usually motivated by religion or lack of religion and it's a human quality. There's a news case from a few years back where an atheist kid was bullied out of not only her sports team due to not participating in prayer cessions before and after games, but got suspended because of it. Strict may be the correct term to use about those moral standards, but high is far from it.

My point is that there are plenty of religius leaders/teachers that truly believe all faithfull in there religion goes to heaven while everyone else goes to hell. The diffrence is that Jehovahs witnesses actually work extremely hard to try and save people by preaching, while a jewish rabbi does not care enough about you to try and save you.

Here is where I do know a little more about and will try to explain. All of these quotes from the WT do show that Witnesses PREFER you NOT to go to college but it doesn't say it is outlawed. It is a personal choice. Many non witnesses even are now seeing that college is not needed because many of our young ones are coming out of college in thousands of dollars of debt with no jobs waiting. I am not saying college is bad, but it's not this terrible idea not to go. They also dont tell you not to.
