- This band has just knocked me out of the park time and time again so we continue with the vibes and this time it’s GHOST with the track RESPITE ON THE SPITALFIELDS! Once again, highly requested track! #thebandghost #ghostband #musicreaction
"Is this just an album full of bangers?"
Yes. Its infuriating. Someone should tell them not every song has to be so great.
Oh, and yes. Papa IV is on borrowed time. I think he's the only one to make it to a second album, albeit Impera was his only album as a Papa, where he was previously just a Cardinal on Prequelle.
But Papa I, II, & III all had one album a piece, then were all murdered and replaced by Cardinal Copia (now Papa IV as mentioned above.)
Perhaps Papa IV won't be killed, but its quite likely that for the 6th album, it won't be led by him.
@@IRanOutOfPhrases Loosing Papa IV will hurt so bad. I feel like he deserve to be able to retire and ride his tricycle in peace. Copia is too sweet for this world.
@@Trixie0026 Which is why he's gonna get murdered as hard possible, haha
@@Trixie0026 True. But we need a darker, more menacing Papa again
@@Trixie0026I heard of theories of him becoming the antichrist. Or him dying and then being resurrected. Idk. I guess we'll just have to wait and find out.
that solo can make a grown man cry
For sure my favorite Ghost solo
When that solo starts instant goosebumps all over my body inside and out...
Same
Best song on the album honestly. The end is a reprise of Imperium, the first song on this album.
its a repetitive cicle of empires rising corrupting and falling to a new one starts to rise.
Masterpiece
@@EmeritusIV616 And you can hear bits of the Imperium's melody throughout the song. For example at 1:15 in the background
I saw them live recently and when they reprise Imperium at the end of this, the background singers really let loose with some full blast Pink Floyd wailing - it is ecstatic. It's there on the album too but way more subdued. Check out some live vids on UA-cam to see what I mean.
Spitalfields is the end of a tale while Kaisarion is the actual beginning of another, Tobias is brilliant
Every most recent Ghost album: "Ooops...All Bangers"
I will never understand why this band gets so much hate. They have so many amazing bangers and there’s never a bad time to listen to them.
"Tobias's voice will undress any woman out there."
And some men too. :)
One of my favourite comments was one reactor saying after Darkness at the heart of my love, if I was a girl I would be sliding off this chair looll
My gay ass can testify lol
Who says rock is dead? Ghost is single-handedly keeping it alive! Tobias has no right being this damn good at creating music. I'm flabbergasted.
To be fair to the other writers, on Impera many of the songs are also co-written by a couple of the very best songwriters in Sweden. This track was co-written by Jocke Berg from Kent, Sweden's (previously) largest and most melodic rock band, well known for also having at least one long song like this on each album :)
Nobody with more than 2 brain cells would say rock is dead, you guys need to hold back the edgy-ness a bit. And Ghost single-handadly keeping rock alive? Do you live under a rock?
Respite on the Spitalfields has a double meaning - in the context of the album (Impera is about the rise and fall of empires), this song is the fall of the empire. Yet it ends the way the album begins, a commentary on the cyclic nature of empires. But as a track in itself, it's about Jack the Ripper. He murdered a number of women in a district of London called the Spitalfields. They never caught him, and the murders just stopped. It left everyone in fear he would return and kill again. It's very in-theme with Hunter's Moon which sits close to the middle of the album. Impera is an album you can just listen to on repeat and never feel the need to skip a song - they're all amazing and it loops so well. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to the next! 🤘
Do you know where Darkness at the Heart is in the context. I guess it is like Kaiserion or Griftwood that someone is beliving everything is for a leader or God.
@@lorens7958 Darkness at the Heart of My Love is talking about the promises of love offered by the church but that there is a darkness in that love. Essentially it's saying their "love" is shallow and is masking true intentions, whatever those may be. Of course, as most Ghost songs, it's also up to individual interpretation.
I think most of us know who Jack the Ripper is, although he was more active in the area of Whitechapel. Anyway, Tobias himself has confirmed that the song is about him.
ROTS is by far my favorite ghost song, it sounds so safe yet so menacing to me. AND THE BASS LINE IS IMMACULATE!! THE REPRISE OF IMPERIUM AT THE END?!!! It’s all too good.
Goosebumps every time i hear this song! Ghost is sooooo good! ❤
I cant get enough of this band lately!!!
I listen to this song over and over every day cause of all the riffs and I love this band too I have seen them live twice now and still amazed
Knew you wouldn't be disappointed by this track. Ghost is fucking amazing
You can thank Fredrik Akesson from Opeth for those amazing guitars. He did all the guitar tracks on Impera.
And Phantomine I believe
Griftwood and this are my favs on this album! Also love spillway and darkness at the heart of my love. 🖤🖤TOBIAS IS A ROCK GOD. The lead guitarist Per Eriksson is AMAZING. 🖤🖤 The vibe of these bangers are just beautiful and give so much feeling. They are definitely underrated. Cant wait to see them for the first time in August.
"Where have I heard this before?"
Good to catch that!
You finally reacted to this song omg! Isn't this album just so good? I can listen to this album on repeat and will never skip ANY song hahaha
Yeah the whole album is magnificent their are no bad songs
This song blew me away. They always up themselves. Keep the reactions coming. We love them!
I'm so happy to see you listen the Respite in the Spitafields, I knew you'd love it. It's a wonderful trip that makes me feel nostalgic and overwhelmed with emotion
This personally my favorite ghost song. i mean, everything about it is just so beautiful and it communicates the story it wants to tell so well. it also just sounds absolutely amazing! those heavenly backup vocals have made me cry multiple times while listening.
The whole album is amazing! Please listen to its love ballad, Darkness at the Heart of My Love!
Great reaction. Like Ghost or not, they have an amazingly high bar for quality. All 5 of their albums are excellent and really don't have a weak track. This last album (Impera) just continues this streak, and continues to improve on the songwriting, and production. Do try to see Ghost live if you can. They have the same approach to their shows.
One of my absolute favourites of theirs, so good!
MY COMFORT SONG 😫🌟
I'm loving your reaction style and vibe. I only discovered Ghost in 2022 also and they are probably my top 3 bands ever. Would like your reaction to another band I discovered in 2022 called Kissin' Dynamite, totally different feel to Ghost but I like them. Check out 'Not the end of the world'. Ghost also do a cover called 'Bible' which is excellent if you fancy reacting to that too. Keep up your great work. From the UK.
Absolutely love this song, so chill but that chorus hits so hard after the slow build of the beginning. Pretty sure Tobias properly screams/growls when he performs this live too. And yes, this album is Oops All Bangers 😂
Srsly tho, I keep requesting this and I can't stay up late enough to join ur Twitch to request it live, I keep trying, but since u love guitar solos and especially that heavier guitar sound, please react to Watcher in the Sky. literally it is one of their best songs re: entire vibe, guitar solo, vocals, everything. It's off of the newest album too, so u KNOW it's a banger.
You gotta do Zenith!!! It's only available on the Meliora vinyl, however people have uploaded it with amazing sound quality :) it has such a different vibe then the rest of the album. You would also LOVE "Missionary man" and "from the Pinnacle to the pit"!!
impera's album is pure art, all the songs are so beautiful that you don't even want to skip one
To get the true full experience of the album you have to listen to it front to back. It tells a story. Honestly, Impera is one of my all time favorite albums.
One of my all time fav Ghost songs. I also feel like it takes me on the journey through it. Especially in the context of the album.
This album is probably my favourite from any musican at the moment. I'll see if that changes in future but man I'm loving it so much still
You sound like me appreciating them. Right on
Beautiful end to the disc.. this is wonderful to fall asleep to. Baby making music also 🤣💖🎵👻😈👻😈🔥🔥🔥🎵
Ghost has such a pleasant sound and their music makes it feel like rock and roll is making love to every hole in my ears.
Sup bro, I've just found your channel yesterday and was watching exclusively your Ghost reactions and was missing this one. Thought of leaving a comment asking for it, but I'm not a usual commentator heh... It's definitely my favorite song from Impera and 24h later, here it is! It's so simply complex, I love this one so much, glad you share my opinion
Watching you react to all my favorite ghost songs makes me feel like it's the first time listening to the song again, so special thank you. Can't wait to see more 🖤❤️🔥🖤❤️🔥🤘🫶
such a masterpiece!
You should react to Ghuleh/Zombie Queen and He Is! Both great songs!
I 2nd this! 🤘
I wish this track ended more like the live version with the Ghoulettes harmonizing and belting out the guitar riff. Not that there's anything wrong with the album version, but the female vocals in the live performances are so good they give you chills.
THEY DID A COVER OF "Here Comes the Sun" BY THE BEATTLES AND ALSO "Enter Sandman", YOU SHOULD TOTALLY LISTEN TO BOTH. :))
My favorite song right nkw
Mine as well
🫶❤️🔥🤘 Love Ghost
Ghost is easily the most interesting band that has come along in decades!
The ending of this song (aka the amazing guitar riff) is basically just another song itself called imperium, also from their newest album. Unfortunately there are no lyrics 🤷♂️
More specifically, it brings back the intro, so it works out as a nice way to open and close the album.
For me, the album opener and closers are the best opener & closer in Ghost's discography. And then you have bangers like Spillways, Hunter's Moon, Darkness at the Heart of My Love, Twenties, and Watcher in the Sky... and the other songs too, all of them songs that could be hits.
This is hands down the best reaction to this song.
La conexión de éste tema con el primer tema del álbum es espectacular! La primera canción ( Imperium) es el enganche del final del disco ! Se conectan con el mismo solo de guitarra! Deberías escucharlo! Un buen inicio tiene un perfecto final! Tremendo disco! Saludos desde Chile!
U should listen to per aspera ad inferi live during the prequelle era. The back vocals are the best!! And darkness at the heart of my love is amazing.
Start the album over. You’ll hear why it sounds familiar!
the solo in this song gives me chills. so good! and this song as a whole is a fuckin banger!!
Lovely background!
I had the same reaction to that solo ha amazing
great reaction :)
you should do square hammer, missionary man, and absolution at some point!!
This is actually my favourite song of the album, I wish it would get more exposure, but alas.
The thing about those "guitars " is its one guy!!! Fredrik Akeeson I believe, he plays for Opeth. He is amazing cause the results are right there.
I love the guitar at the end is the electric version of the beginning of the album completely wrapped
It's not satanic at all, it's playing on accepted views of ancient religious tales and texts, and it's just a really smart, well written modern rock and roll track...my fave track from Impera, it culminates the entire Ghost tale, then turns it on our ears by returning back to the beginning, the Coda, everything is just cyclical; damn good songwriting; Spitalfields is an actual place, in England, worth researching more for context
The album ends how it starts!
I hear Megadeth, Dokken, Whitesnake .... Queensryche .... aw man so true it's a journey back in time. But they make it THEIRS and it's so amazing.
It's the moment where you say... Give me a churro, a beer and we put on a trip of those who will never return and we will compose one of the best songs of rock, metal or whatever they want. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!
This song is about Jack the Ripper, Spitalfields is an area of London where Jack committed his crimes😳
Eres Grande!! Temazo 🔥
Easily my favorite song on the album
i dont think you have, but you have GOT to listen to Twenties by ghost, id personally say its one of their hardest songs, feel very judas priest-y its AMAZING!!
I know this is an old reaction, but Respite on the Spitalfields is about Jack the Ripper and the aftermath of his killing spree.
Amazing song!
I am watching this patiently waiting for Sodos killer riff whit a Joker like smile on my face. 😂
They're coming back this summer, 2023. Go check them out
You should listen to Subvision, it’s also made by Tobias Forge.
Do you realize this Song Ends to the ........ Beginning of the Album?
Please listen He is.
You should hear out something from Repugnant, the last band Tobias was in before starting Ghost. (He was a vocalist and guitarist.)
Recommended songs would be Hungry Are The Damned or Draped In Cerecloth.
Please listen to Mummy Dust or Twenties! They are very good songs :D
Tobias forge ❤❤❤❤❤
react to from the pinnacle to the pit!!
Ends with the beginning of this song for the album rather...you heard the end at the beginning, right before Kaisarion
Please please please react to darkness at the heart of my love
It's about Jack the Ripper
I just binge watched all of your ghost reactions. Would you please react to Avatar "Let it burn". I recommend the Loudwire live video version.
No Prayer for The Dying :)
In Sodo's solo i trust😭🤞
bro react to per aspera ad inferi
The ending riffs are the same as the beginning ones one the first song
This is about Jack the Ripper and he never got caught
Ghost hit/miss ratio is off the charts. its like 20-1 Good to bad. Really, what other band has a ratio like that? Only Queen comes close in my books...
If you are making love to a song about Jack the Ripper you might need to speak to somebody lol
Faaaaaak
