Meditation(mindfulness) is an exercise used by multiple religions and by those that are not religious...not sure what your point is. You should probably educated yourself on the fact that concepts like mediation are not exclusive to eastern religions. Introspection is important to overall health both "spiritually" and physically.
Buddhism is not a religion, it is a philosophy which can be applied to any life. At the Buddhist "temple" there were some who were Christian Buddhists and some who were even Buddhists who believed themselves to be athiests.
