- Jayuya is the type of place where every corner, street, river, mountain, and person holds an incredible story from our past as a nation. This is a place where you might unknowingly pass by an unassuming building without realizing its profound importance at some moment.
A place with pristine natural landscapes that were sacred to our indigenous Taíno ancestors whose traditions, history, and culture live on to this day thanks to the determination and dedication of the people of Jayuya. A place that played a monumentally important role in our history and shaped the Puerto Rico we live in today.
And a place that surpassed our expectations and captivated our hearts.

My dad is Puerto Rican and never shared anything like this with me! I am so fascinated with this all
Hey!! Glad you were able to learn about it! Jayuya is a somewhat remote part of Puerto Rico because of it’s location in the mountains, so even people who have lived all their lives in PR might have not visited the municipality. Apart from that, the historical background I shared is controversial. Some might agree with the actions taken by the nationalist, some might not. So, that part of our history hasn’t been shared as much as it should. Glad I was able to help you learn something new! And hopefully you get to see it for yourself soon! 😄🙏🏼🇵🇷
Excelente trabajo. ❤
Dios te bendiga. Love it as always great job keep up the good work .!! Para adelante siempre Boricua!!
Saludos Julio! Mil gracias por tu comentario y buenos deseos! Muchas bendiciones para ti también! 😄🙏🏼🇵🇷

Thank you Brik!!!!!! Always the best PR tour guide
Hey Derek! Thank you so much!! Always appreciate the support! 😄🙌🏼🙏🏼🇵🇷
Excellent tour! Great detail and very informative. Super photos & Drone views a big plus.
Thank you so much!! The drone has been one of the best investments I’ve made to improve the quality of my videos, so I’m glad you appreciate the drone shots! Thank you for commenting and the support! 😄🙏🏼🇵🇷
This is very thorough. Thank you! And you are 💯 right on taking the longer southern route from San Jaun. We learned the hard way😅.
Haha I went two times to film the video. The first time we took the northern route and I got motion sickness by the time I got to Jayuya. I was worries I wasn’t gonna be able to record the video 😂😅 The southern route is WAY better. Thank you for your comment and for the support! Glad you were able to visit such an amazing place like Jayuya! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
Hi Brik! Another awesome video. We fell in love with the PR after our first visit. We have recently decided to check out Jayua. We are considering going next February or March. What is the weather like around those months?
Hey Xavier! That’s awesome! Jayuya is truly amazing! The weather is pretty great. If you’re used to winter weather, it’s gonna just be refreshing, but for Puerto Ricans February, especially in the mountains, has some of the coldest weather during the whole year. Thank you for the support! 😄🙏🏼🇵🇷
Good information about the twisty roads, my wife and daughter hate twisty roads! Are the roads jammed with cars on the weekends?
No, the roads are pretty clear most of the time. A pothole will get you before traffic does😅
Hey Frank! Glad you found it helpful! The southern route has way less twisty roads, so consider that when visiting Jayuya. Glad you’re considering visiting Jayuya! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
@@BriksTravelGuides hey Brik. I have tried to post a comment about the written rocks a couple times but it never shows up...
That is weird. Some comments get held up for review by the YT app, but I don’t see any of yours there. Not sure why you’re having issues commenting. 😅 I see this comment though haha
@@BriksTravelGuides that's a start!
Im visiting again in August and would like to know where I can buy locally made goods to bring back. We were in Viejo San Juan 2 weeks ago and all the shops had things that were made in China. I want to support locally made goods only.
Hey Tiffany! Great that you’re coming back and wanting to support local businesses. If you’re in Viejo San Juan, visit Mundo Taíno. They have two stores there where they sell 100% local merchandise. Fun fact: I sell my postcards there. They’re called Iguana Diaries. They’re usually near the cash register in one of their locations (not the one that’s on the corner of a building). Hope that helps! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
Thank you so much! I will absolutely stop by and will definitely check out your Iguana Diaries postcards! 🙏🏽🇵🇷❤️
