What do you think of this MONSTER?? Thanks Ethan for having me out and showing off this incredible machine! If you haven't checked out Ethans youtube channel and website make sure to do that! Thanks for watching! Keep the forge lit!
Your zodiac?
Tim if you're thinking about acquiring a bigger Bêché in the future, I saw some huge for sale back in Germany. Ram weight ranged from 200kg up to 500kg 😉
Yeah but the main reason those machines stay in Germany and in the parts of Europe are because the shipping costs are outrageous and so crazy that it's almost not even worth trying to get it over to South America
That is truly such an incredible machine.
I am no blacksmith, I know nothing about any of it, I barely own a drill to do real shit at home DIY stuff, but that hammer is incredible. I cannot believe something so IMMENSELY powerful is so quiet... Also it weighs 3 fucking cars!!!!!
Oh man! I love when tools have function and also look like art. Did you see that axe he made? It reminds me of the native Indians. It is truly beautiful. Ethan definitely has skill! He is a true artiste!
The best part is the use of an anvil as a counterweight. Too funny.
Nice visit to Ethans shop. What a capable hammer. The silence is deafening! 👍 😃
Tim it is always good to see a new video. that is very big power hammer. cant wait to see a new video soon. keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work Tim. Forge On. keep Making. God Bless
Great into Tim! Keep up the great work.
I still think the upsetter is a piece of equipment that should be in more blacksmithing shops.. It literally is a cross between a hydraulic press and a power hammer, giving you both the high static force as well as the speed of impact. The dies have to be very well thought out for the type of work you're doing, but once figured out, I don't think there's any small shop process that can beat it.. I can just imagine making pattern welded billets in a machine like that..
I am keeping an eye open for one. They don’t turn up often which seems odd
Tim has 2
Grant Sarver had a few
If you're ever thinking about doing a course, go to ethan Harty. Took his hammer making course and he is a great teacher, lots of knowledge and an amazing setup.
I love how quiet it is!
What a beautiful video, Tim. Always nice seeing you explore.
Thats my buddy Ethan. Great guy
Wow! So powerful yet so quiet! What a machine!
Wow, a Niles-Bement Pond hammer! WE here at Machineco, in Montreal knew they made lots of other BEEG equipment, like boring mills etc. (and we've had some later Niles equipment. As we have a Nazel 4B on the floor right now, (self contained, no air compressor needed) this "utility hammer" is of great interest too.
Indeed all early American and Canadian machine tools right after the turn of the nineteenth century are of great interest. to us, We are trying to create a museum
of old equipment, so show how Yes we COULD make lots of stuff- before computers! 😁
wow that's cool, I've never seen a power hammer that quiet before
That's some heavy metal I could get into
Ethan was making the hammers for Alec Steele for a little while, before Alec got enough support in Montana to do it in house. Seems like he's done good for himself since then. Great stuff.
Nice one!
I've enjoyed the heck out of my Ethan Harty rounding hammer. It's been a topic of more than one Insta post.
WOOHOO! Alberta☺️ 💋
Those are beautiful
Beauty rounding hammers! And a beast of a power hammer.
I am an old style blacksmith to
Dude! Bring a stack of Merchandise with you the next time you come Alberta! You have tons of fans here.
Thanks for this. I shudder to think how deep the concrete must be beneath that monster! Sigh, even if I could find one it wouldn't fit in my shop.
Merci bien !
That is one best of a hammer mate .:)
That's Ethan's stream hammer, isn't it? Can't wait to watch this later. 👍
Tim…simplicity? It took 50 operations before he could start it!!!!! Great video sir.
Ok who else noticed the hammers treadle counterweight was an anvil 6.28 min into the video
yep, i saw that and went wait a minute.... is that an anvil?
man thats an absolutely awesome meeting. Would really like to see some collabs between u guys! Keep it up mate!
hello timothy it,s frozen in your country.but the nature is beautifful...hammer of Thor
j'en veux un comme ça 👍
Whats behind the curtain ?
Sweet and quiet . what was that upside down at the end of the pedal ?
Bloody awesome
The Honey Badger of power hammers..?
You also need to buy for yourself a huge power hammer like this😅
Yes sir
It almost cracked above 100 this week and you get snow. Why do I live in this hell hole they call Phoenix?
⭐🙂👍
Doesn’t he make hammer for Alec?
That hammer seems unnatural, it has so much power but it seems so quiet
👋
Wish today's youth valued their eyesight 😐
Grandfathers age.. all deaf from no hearing protection.
Great hammer 👍
Yo. Another early one. Nice!
His hammers bare a striking resemblance to that other guy in the UK, Alex steele 🤔
He made 100 of them for Alex
alec tuaght him to make the hammers i think
When did he stop making hammers for Alec Steele? His big power hammer is so quiet. Hope diesel prices are cheaper across the border than they are down here. It could get expensive running that hammer everyday. That compressor will burn 40 gallons of fuel on a full days work. But depends on how much air the hammer uses too. Wow this comment got a lot longer than I anticipated 🤣🤣
probably cost and time, cheaper for alec to have them made in house rather then paying ethan to make them plus ship them to his warehouse and then onsell them
@@dragonwing4ever Also, once Alec got a few more workers in Montana... it was definitely easier to have them made in house. Back when it was just Alec and Will, it made sense to have someone else (Ethan) do it.
