My Favorite Flying Demo Team!!! Have watched them practice at Navy Pensacola and seen them in airshows shows many times. Love them!

NO ONE has the guts of a Naval Aviator!! When you can fly a 140KIAS approach to a carrier deck and hit the 3-wire in one mile visibility you can talk crap but until then FLY NAVY!!

I used to see them just about every year in willow grove but the base has been closed for so long this is the only way I get to see them now.

What’s with the sloppy smoke on/off? That’s unusual for the Blue’s
It’s to let the crew on the ground know they’re out of position
Always something they do in practice. AviationFreak nailed it, when they feel they are slightly out of position they turn off their smoke. They also video all practices so that helps them know later as well when they are studying the film of when they felt they were not perfectly positioned.

What was with the truck with the checkered flag ?
It’s a truck full of maintenance crew in case a jet breaks down before takeoff. Usually it follows the diamond. Figured I show them some love and include them 🤣

Definitely see they are in practice mode. Smoke not coordinated, spacing isn't tight, looks like they got new pilots that need practice.

No fear... but INTENSE concentration! New team, early in season, needs some tune-up, especially on smoke control. Show WILL get better, always awesome, nonetheless.
