Staub and Le Creuset have been my go to’s but this is a new and interesting brand. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for watching!
Very informative. Thanks!
Thank you for watching!
So eloquent and knowledgeable!
Thank you!
It's so fun to start building my ustensils and cookware collection. For my cast iron pot, I went with BK, a Belgian brand (well, it's a "Dutch" oven lol) founded in 1850s that has the royal predicate. The quality is superb and the pot is so beautiful I bring it to the dining table... when I feel strong enough to lift it 😆
I think BK is a Dutch brand as well as a producer of Dutch ovens 😅 Glad you like it makes cooking and entertaining so much more fun!
I did a lot of research when I was choosing a brand for my cast iron collection. I went this Le Creuset in the end. I think either would be a great investment for an avid home cook.
Either or both right?
Great point about the welded handles instead of rivets. I have a frequently used All-Clad pan with rivets and I'm always to use brushes and toothpicks to clean around the rivets which is disgusting, and the pan is to big to boil in another pan.
Aww what a pain!
I’ve had my eye in on a Le Creuset dutch oven for a while now so this video was right on time.
Good to hear. Thank you for watching.
Thanks ❤
You're welcome 😊
I have a demeyere wok, 2 staub french ovens including a 9qt love that I love love, I have a lot of le creuset including the rice pot and 2 braisers, a 10 piece d5 all clad and finally a 11 piece shun premier knife set. Absolute amazing kitchenware
you can say that again. I’m proud of you 👏🏾
Do you have a preference between Staub and Le Creuset?
@@acatholicbeachbunny it honestly depends on what I’m cooking. If I’m cooking on the stove I tend to use my le creuset more because of the light interior. If I’m roasting or baking, I prefer staub as it has a tighter fitting lid and does a better job at maintaining moisture. You can’t go wrong with either to be totally honest.
@@SoAnesu you definitely help. I love under the radar brands, I’m so much more Joseph Duclos than Hermes.
I’m so deep into Lecreset. However these are beautiful ❤️
They are right?
I recently got a Scanpan ctx. It’s danish, and seemed to have performed best in tests in the Nordics. Will have a look at your suggestions :)
I use Scanpan pots they are fantastic no complaints 3 years in.
Can you recommend a brand for copper cookware with handles welded on like the demeyere pieces?
Hey Ashanti I haven’t seen you in a while! My next cookware video will have a brand that may work - let me know otherwise.
I’ve only got Staub, Demeyere, and Fissler in my kitchen.
i suggest you have a look at FALK copper coeur induction cookware too.
Another fabulous Belgian brand I’ve never seen in the United Kingdom. I’ll look for it next time I’m in the EU. Copper core range I think can be used on all cook tops and not just induction.
what is the difference between the coccotes and dutch oven?
A Dutch oven is a generic name for a cast iron pot a cocotte is a cast iron pot with enamel.
I have not heard the word cocotte for YEARS. my mother used to call the pressure cooker la cocotte minute 😂. Any idea what the word means? Could it be French slang for cooking pot?
It’s a pressure cooker, the actual French word for that. Free translation would be “the 1-minute cooking pot”
When I first heard the word in a French household I was told it’s a casserole dish round or oval in shape. A few years ago an upmarket ‘chicken shop’ chain called Cocotte opened in London and food is serviced in cast iron pots but the word can also be used as a term of endearment or a prostitute! Therefore please use wisely and in context!
@@SoAnesu 😳 thanks for warning
I have always used Le Creuset! My first piece was a grill pan, I purchased 12 years ago! I could barely afford it as a student but she is still w me. 🥹 Their bakeware is lovely too. Staub has more sizing options - I see a new purchase in my future. 🔮
Snap I bought one of their Dutch ovens fresh out of University more than double the time you did, upgraded it but the original is still in existence!
@@SoAnesu the other reason i go for le Creuset is because their cast iron is enameled at 700 deg F - I’ll never cook at that heat, so the coating will never break down and poison my food. there’s a lot of new “non toxic” cookware coming out but le Creuset is the least toxic cookware I believe! Along with stainless steel pans (I will be trying this Belgian brand next!!)
