Playing with the various nozzles, I chose the one with the largest diameter, adjusted the spray pattern, dialed the most powerful spray rate, and, BINGO, painted my front steps (6) in about eight minutes. Perfect "starter" sprayer for the novice homeowner. Go Yattich!

I had never used a spray gun before today. I just painted my wood shed with it - the shed is 20' long and 8' high. The back of the shed abuts my shop, so there're only 2 ends and the one long side.
It took me about 2 1/2 hours.
    1: dilute the paint (Valspar from Lowes) in a 3:1 ratio into a 2 1/2 quart bucket (16 oz. water + 48 oz. paint = 64 oz.)
2: fill the fairly small tank, spray one end and almost half the shed side.
3: refill the tank with what's left in the bucket, spray most of the rest of the shed.
    4: dilute another 36 oz. (9 oz. water + 27 oz. paint)
5: Since I wasn't sure how long it took the paint to dry in the gun, I took the gun apart and cleaned the nozzle, tube and filter
6: refill the tank, finish spraying the shed
7: refill with the last of the paint, make sure the nozzle is pointed backward, paint the 20' of eaves overhang
Again, I've never used a spray gun before and this whole process took me about 2 1/2 hours.
Now, after I was done painting I did take the gun completely apart and thoroughly cleaned it - that took me about another 45 minutes so it would be good and clean for the next project.
I'm not sure why Bassocantor had such a small spray pattern. I used the 1.5 nozzle and my spray pattern was much like you see on the other spray-paint videos - about 12'' high with less coverage on the ends, but about 6" of good coverage in the middle.

yeah i used the 700 watt version of this brand and my spray pattern was huge, like 12-16 inches. i painted kitchen cabinets and i think it did 10 times better and faster than brushing or rolling. they are drying, i will update tonight when i go back to the project.

@@AJ-ds9xq they’re perfectly painted; I diluted the paint (enamel) using the little cup to about 50 seconds and works great. Definitely wear a mask and goggles and make sure you cover up the space behind because of over spray

We've had this in the box for a year or so and just got it out this morning.
I concur: it's loud, but that's easy to fix. It's heavy, at least I'm doing small sections (less than 10 X 10 feet). And the spray pattern could be better.
I'll play around with bigger nozzles. It seems pretty well made, especially for the price but bigger jobs would make me look for a different unit.

I bought this I had never used a paint gun before. The only one downfall is its heavy especially with the paint. I will tell you this thing is amazing. I finally switched and use the largest copper nozzle and that makes my paint flow so nice. They say you can't use high-gloss then the paint gun, I did. But you have about a 30-minute window, because the gloss will come up very quickly and cause a lot of spillage in the front. So what I do I didn't mix very much water in it so it would have its eyes shine the paint came out beautifully but in about 30 minutes you need to take it inside take it apart and just rinse it. Put it back together and keep going. This is only met for like window seals or shutters or a door. I use the high-gloss the first time but I deleted it down like they said and it doesn't get clogged up at all but you also lose a lot of the shine. If something happens to this would I buy it again? Yes I would. But I will tell you since I have learned how to use this how to clean it and take care of it my next gun I hope to be a larger one for large areas like a whole living room wall or something. Because this thing is too heavy for me to do a whole room. I used it for 3 days at about 4 hours each day and by that last day I was so sore and I couldn't hardly walk my back was so traumatized from the position I had to hold my hands with that heavy paint. But now that's me I don't have a whole lot of upper body strength period for the money this thing is really badass. It paints doors and windows beautifully and it paints trim beautifully.

I have one. I think I'm going to buy again compared to others. This has powerful moter, variety of tip sizes, not bad to clean. You're not likely to paint a gym. I use it to paint my rental home, specifically drawer, cabinet, wall. If you find better choice, go for it and share.

My HF Avanti like most HVLP sprayers has 3 spray patterns, wide verticle, and hozornal and a small cone shape like your demonstrating.

Must follow directions and adjust sprayer for larger areas needing a wider spray… using it like this with a narrow spray on large surface isn’t going to work

From Dublin, Ireland. thank you for making this video. I wanted to spray paint a bicycle and a wall. Good to know that this unit is not great for one of those purposes.

Very true. It does have some weight to it. You don’t notice it until you’ve been holding it for ten minutes, spraying these narrow strips of wall. I came on here hoping I was doing something wrong. It takes forever to paint anything of size.

Did you thin out the paint by using the viscosity cup that came with it?

  • @thaddeusstevens1344
    @thaddeusstevens1344 3 роки тому +3

I own this paint gun and I deeply regret it. Like the video demonstrates, the paint stream is much too thin to be able to paint anything the size of a wall.

    • @BassocantorReviews

Agreed. I thought it was good for a narrow area such as the edge or corners.

All units like this are noisy and heavy. The pattern you were spraying really sucked, and that may be a good reason not to get one without a fan width control. Wagner FLEXO 3000????

I think the paint looked a bit undiluted....and I think you were using the diagonal setting in the last part of the video, which is meant for detail stuff...

I own the bigger better brother to this, the 700 watts version, and what I have realized so far is that paint have to be diluted accordingly for best results. And also get familiar with the flow rate and your hand techniques for proper painting...
