Alabama has played the #6,10,15,19 defense... "They haven't played the top defenses week in and week out." Dude. Yes they have. You just listed them. What you just described is literally playing the top 10% of defenses every week. How does a team play HARDER defenses than that??? Should they have played the #1 defensive team ...6 times?? Iowa has the #5 defense. Clem & ND aren't far behind in total defense (yds). Clem, ND & FSU aren't far behind in scoring defense. Mich offense could not drive the field and score a TD and had to kick 4 FGs. That does not bode well. Mich is going to need a couple of INTs and/or a pick 6. And ALA QB has to avoid that if Bama has any chance to win.
Bama hasn’t played a complete defensive unit as balanced as Michigan’s but I’d argue they’ve played better front seven (Texas and Texas A&M) and a better secondary (Georgia). They’ve also played the best offense by a mile (LSU).
Anyone arguing Bama isn’t battle tested needs to introduce me to their dealer.

Couple of points. 1. AL against UGA we had three dropped INTs and we were winning that game by 10 points thru most of that game. 2. Auburn game we had three TDs taken off the scoreboard b/c of questionable penalties (the worst officiated game ever). Milroe is the best QB UMich will face this year.

Michigan top offense they played all year was #36 Ohio St. Alabama has played 4 teams in the top 17. Michigan defense stats are skewed by awful offenses.

@aperson12759 Defense numbers are all skewed because the BIG10 plays at a snails pace and teams run alot less plays with less possessions because the clock never stops running the ball 30 times a game.

They still had a stronger schedual than FSU and as strong if not stronger than Georgia. Still beat the 10, 2 and 16 ranked teams and a bowl eligible team in the last 4 weeks of the season with only one at home.

Michigan has played a pretty mediocre schedule; I think we all can agree on that. Ohio State came within one possession of Michigan with a mediocre quarterback. If bama plays consistent and doesn't makes mistakes i believe Bama comes away with a two-possession game. It's on Milroe and the front seven of Alabama. They execute and Bama wins.

It's rather comical the way B10ers are obsessing over the Aub game & Aub losing to NMSU. Almost every team has a bad game, Aub had two or three (NMSU, at LSU, at TAM). Their other losses were to then #1 GA, #4 ALA, #11 Ole Miss and all by 1 score. The 4th down TD pass by ALA wasn't a miracle, just a good throw: Aub gave the QB plenty of time to find target and make the pass. It was actually an easy toss.

These players were spotted at the bars around usc according to personal sources, wolverines were not spotted according to them. I rarely lose these big games and because Bama couldn't go 2 yards to end that game the underdog and under did not come in, they were horrible in almost every aspect.

@@miked9596 Michigan made as many mistakes as Bama did in that game. Missed FG, missed XP, muffed punt setting up Bama's first TD, JJ didn't see a wide open guy for a TD on a drive that ended with no points, etc. Bama had Oline problems in part due to Michigan's Dline dominating them.

The B1G and SEC are like two parallel universes that interact occasionally. Both conferences homers tout their in-conference records and stats compiled within the isolated contexts of their conferences. Michigan’s stats and records against the B1G are practically meaningless in any attempt to compare them to Alabama.
Not a single common opponent. Most B1G teams are low power offenses, slower overall team speed, and defenses built to stop the running games. SEC teams typically have higher power offenses, faster athletes across the entire roster, and more balanced defenses. Legitimate measures of comparison are hard to find so comparisons are highly subjective and rely heavily on “the eye test.”
To me, the most revealing means of comparison is recent conference-to-to conference postseason outcomes. Since 2010, SEC teams have a 38-22 win advantage in all inter-conference games and outscored the B1G 29.67 ppg to 22.5 ppg. In bowl games since 2010, the SEC has won 31 of 44 contests and outscored the B1G 31.5 ppg to 21.5 ppg… on average.
Forget the conference records because they tell a biased tale. Look at how the teams fared when faced against each other. That’s more telling.

If it comes down to QB play who has to play there most perfect game I'll go with the more experienced QB JJ McCarthy being this is his 3 year, milroe has more interceptions and it's his first time being here under a sabin team that can add allot of pressure, plus milroe is inconsistent on the short mid field throws which plays into Michigans defense on how they operate. Milroe and JJ can run the ball plus Michigan has a secondary QB who literally matches milroes height and weight and runs the ball as well. Michigan runs the ball plus got the better running backs and offense of line. Alabama allot better in the passing game with the better wide outs.
Milton is 28 TDs to 5 turnovers since Texas lol. JJ in the shadows

Mich faced 9 of the worst offenses in all of college football. Iowa is dead last and Mich St isn't far behind nor are Rut, Neb, MN, Ind, or Purdue. ECar & BG, same. All of them are at or near the bottom 25. Mich barely gained 200 yds vs Iowa and couldn't drive the field to score a TD, settling for 4 FGs. Not to discount an undefeated season, but Michigan may fall flat yet again. We shall see. ALA wasn't that great this year, so Mich just might beat them >> their secondary better be ready to make some picks.

The big 10 has horrible offenses the defense of stats are misleading the best offense they played was ranked 36th. If you’re gonna have a podcast on the game at least be honest with the numbers.
Offensive ranks are rather subjective, and can be “total offense” or “scoring offense” but in this case it was power rated based on a multitude of statistical metrics and adjusted performance. Our ranks our actually more insightful since they are adjusted for opponent rather than just the raw rankings. So please don’t say we are being dishonest, because that is far from the truth.

UM hasn’t been tested this year with their week schedule. You mentioned Bama struggling in the iron bowl which we everyone knows how those games are. Didn’t UM struggle vs Maryland?
