ALways use the best. When I was working with fabrics I had to have the best available - Kona Bay was among my favorites. With clay, I started with Michael's cheap and now have boxes of Cernit and Pardo.
Joanna, very pretty--I love cernit trans for so many reasons. One note, that I am sure you are already aware of--if the mold is indeed silicone, you can cure right in the mold (Silicone is safe to 450F) and that would save you a step (and possibly some distortion) Cheers!
Dear Joanna it's georgous and a simple projet but all your idea is amazing thanks sharing your good work you're a very nice artist these video is a New Year's gift hugs🍾🥂🎆🎇👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇮🇹
Greetings from Tucson, Arizona USofA. Beautiful results, as usual. I agree with your comment 'bout 'feeling' and 'touching' the clay. I've been working with fabrics the past 20 years and always enjoyed 'feeling' the fabrics.
Starting in 2006 I first made lap quilts for children with cancer, then items such as tote bags/purses/jackets to auction for breast cancer benefits, then ALS and homeless children..the process took on a life of it's own.@@joannascorner4478
Hi Cathy! Try the colored translucent. It is magnificent as you can see from my few last videos. I really don't think you get the same effect when you mix translucent and alcohol inks. Have a beautiful day, my friend!
They turned out beautifully Joanna. We are in summer here in Queensland and my Cernit is spending alot of time in the fridge 🤣😂🤣 but I do love working with it. Have a beautiful day Joanna x
Oh Mandy, I know what you mean! During California summers all my clay spends tons of time in the fridge or freezer! But boy, cernit translucent totally rocks! I love it! Have a wonderful weekend my friend!
Happy New Year! Those pendants came out beautifully! I've never used Cernit - I work with Sculpey and mix my own translucent colors - - it's definitely worth trying the Cernit translucents!! Thanks so much for sharing!!
Happy New Year Scottie! Thank you so much! I have been mixing my on translucent as well until I tried Cernit translucent. Those translucent colors are so vibrant without losing translucence. As you may have noticed I have been using them in my last few videos. I really, really love them!
Good morning my sweet glitter sister 🙂 It's so hard to believe how much that Cernit Translucent changes during the baking process!! Absolutely beautiful and that gold leaf takes it to a whole new level!!! I was just curious if you get your Cernit from Amazon or if you have another place where you prefer to purchase it from? I hope you have a wonderful Saturday! Big hugs 🙂
My sweet Colleen, thank you so much! I bought cernit translucent from polymer superstore. Their prices were reasonable and their service was great. They have many more translucent colors too! Check them out! Have fun tomorrow! Hugs
@@joannascorner4478 I will definitely have to check them out. I just love the transformation of that clay 🙂Thank you so much!! I will let you know how it goes 🙂At least she chose an easy theme of cow print and sunflowers. I will have to send you a few pictures of the decorations and the cake 🙂
Love how these came out with those two colors. This Bordeaux color is really mind blowing how it transforms in this rich color. Happy new year to you once more my sweet Joanna ❤
Certainly the closeup pics show up the gorgeous colours. I’ve not been able to find the coloured Cernit translucent clays in the UK, only white - wondering if you’d get similar results if the add alcohol ink colours? Have you tried it?
Hello there! I have used alcohol inks to color my translucent clay and it does work. However, from my personal experience I find that Cernit translucent colored clay is way more vibrant when it comes to color and more translucent. But when I used alcohol inks with the translucent clay, I used it with Sculpey translucent, not Cernit translucent so that may have been the difference. Thanks for chiming in! Hugs
Hi Joanne, really super nice.🤗😉👍 May I know what clay you used. You have used blue with green and white with gold metallic for another pendant, which mer was that clay from? I would like to hear from you. Greetings Conny🥰
Hello Conny! I am using Cernit translucent Amber and Bordeaux. Isn't that clay just so great?! Thank you so much for watching! I really appreciate it. Have a beautiful day!
Happy new year! Thank you for all your time to create all those beautiful videos and tutorials (very inspirational) I have a quick question if you can recommend a good UV resin, what is hard and doesn’t run , I recently purchased from Hobby lobby, and they are so thin that the ruined most of my pieces. Thank you in advance for your recommendation. Jola
Thank you so ,so much, Jola! Thank you for your kind words! Happy New Year, my friend! Unfortunately I don't use UV resin. I know that it's way easier to use but I use resin for many other projects and that is why I use a two part resin for my pendants. The UV resin is very tempting though! Good luck finding a a good UV resin. I am using Amazing Clear Cast Resin from Michael's. Hugs
Amazing! I’m going to try that today! I just started using clay and your videos have been wonderful. What tool did you use to peel off the resin towards the end?
Hi Laura! I am using craft cutters. I used them for my jewelry making. They are very handy when you need to cut chains and .... remove resin!! Ha, ha! Have a great day my friend!
Hi Joanna, These are beautiful. I was wondering where you get your Cernit Clay? I would love to get some to try it thank you for doing these wonderful videos for us to enjoy.
My dear Lee Ann, thank you so, so much! I got it online from polymer superstore. Store around me don't carry cernit so online was my only option. I have to tell you that I am so happy with their colored translucent clay. As you can see , I can't put it down! Hugs
Yes the temperature is in Fahrenheit. I'm so sorry your project burned. Have you ever tried to put aluminum foil over pendant and dome and bake? I bake all my projects like this. I don't know if that is the right way but I have never had a burned piece. Try it and let me know how it goes.
Thank you for your reply. I never tried to cover it with foil but will surely try it tomorrow. I just threw away all discolored cernit earrings n pendants that i made. Cernit is the most beautiful when baked i will try it with your trick now. Tks:)
A lot of people say that. I use Sculpey for most of the projects and Sculpey is also pretty soft so I am used to that. But yes, you are not the only one who said that it is sticky. Thank you so much for watching!
I think I need to start using more cernit!
