This is exactly what I was looking for, appreciate the post. I too use Randy Johnson at D&Z Customs.

I believe i would have just used a flywheel spacer, GM performance parts has some really thick spacers, quality piece shouldered for centricity.

i setup my toploader the same. what you will end up doing, very likley will be pulling it back apart when you get a little wear. the fingers move out, towards the TOB when the clutch wears, so its gonna get tight with a little wear. im sure you will hear it start scrubbing the TOB after break in. Just remember, it says, MIN .100, and your only .112, but not taking into consideration the inital wear.

Does your clutch pedal work when pushing it halfway or all the way down to the floor this video really helped me thank you

It’s progressive so it slips the clutch as the pedal is depressed fully disengaging at the bottom

These measurements can be done and adjusted with motor and clutch in the car, tranny sitting next to it right? Once its adjusted there shouldn't be any reason to adjust once its all put together running right? If I understand, then you can use the fire wall adjuster to get the peddle where you want it? Thanks

Correct. With the pressure plate and clutch installed on the car along with the bell housing you can get the dimensions you need with those parts assembled. Your transmission sitting on the floor without the bell housing allows you to get those dimensions. If you have the bearing set up correctly then you shouldn’t have to touch it.
Side bar: If it’s too close to the clutch fingers on the initial set up it may not fully release the clutch once installed. It also needs to be far enough away for the clutch to wear because the spring figures will naturally unload and need room to do that.
As far as the firewall adjuster, I’m not sure what you mean. If you mean speed bleeder that yes you would use that to bleed the system.
And as far as the getting the pedal where you want it. The pressure or type of pedal you end up getting is directly related to the style and type of clutch that you’re running. So if you’re running a clutch with heavy spring pressure, you’re probably going to have a really heavy pedal. Hope this helps
