I have the TV Immersion backlight, and I have to say, my experience has been completely different. The one you received may be faulty. One example, when I turn my TV off, the backlight goes dark. So not sure what was going on with yours showing pink like that. Assuming no user error in setup, faulty unit is the best explanation.

Yeah, somthing is completely wrong with his calibration. The lights are not perfect but it's definitely not supposed to look like this

I calibrated it a number of times with various ambient lighting conditions, tried moving the camera around a bit so it wasn't dead centre to see if that helped, but always got this problem. I spoke to govee and asked them about it and they didn't make any attempt to say it was a faulty product, I gave them plenty of opportunities to explain it and provide any solutions, but in the end I had to review the product that I had in front of me

I’m afraid I have to add my support to the Govee Immersion LED for TVs. I think it’s great considering its price point and works far better than you show in your video. It’s a shame that people may be put off based on your bad experience. I can only conclude you have a faulty unit.

Is your TV stand gloss/reflective? If it is, attach the camera to the bottom of your TV to avoid interference from the reflective surface.

Sadly, I have to agree with the other comments - this seems a particularly poor review. I too have the TV back-light after seeing it reviewed elsewhere, and as stated in the other comments it is by no means perfect, but it certainly performs better than you've given it credit for. Also, you are missing other key factors if you are aiming for a proper review - its price point is far below that of the Hue equipment, it won't become landfill when HDMI standards change, and also it can "see" apps that are built in to the TV, not just a single source fed through HDMI.

I agree on paper it's a great product! second only to a direct ambilight TV, but that wasn't the experience I had. I spoke to govee and asked them about it and they didn't make any attempt to say it was a faulty product, I gave them plenty of opportunities to explain it and provide any solutions, but in the end I had to review the product that I had in front of me

Yeah at a far greater price, what do you expect, but for the money the govee is the best out there and don't need to spend a fortune.

Good grief. That has to be the worse review ever. Why didn't you try and familiarise yourself with all the features first rather than filming yourself taking it out of the box and then struggling with it.

Crap mate, you dont have it calibrate properly, seen so beautiful results. It's better than philps hue, which is miles better and only hdmi 2.0, no good if you have an Xbox series x or Playstation 5 which both can run 120hz, with vrr, etc. Your just bias and don't know how to use the govee ambient lighting. It's not totally perfect, but works well from what I have seen
