Awesome drills and tips. Just discovered you guys but I'm loving the content. Missed the DMV camp but we might come up to the NJ camp this summer. Good stuff coach.
Appreciate that sir! Thank you very much- I’ll send you the Jersey camp info below www.firstdowntraining.com/service-page/newark-new-jersey-qb-wr-camp?referral=service_list_widget
I notice that when you make pocket moves left or right that you lead with your front leg, which is different than how some others teach pocket moves. Is there a reason you lead with the front leg compared to the back leg? Thanks!
Yessir so that’s on purpose it’s so my weight stays loaded on the back leg. I could go on and on about it- but essentially it’s so you stay in a position to throw at all times. Watch any NFL QB and not a single one does that “kick step” “back foot first” movement because it’s inefficient. All of your weight gets to your front leg so you are not mechanically sound or you have to get weight to your back leg which wastes time. I have a few videos on it- if you search up “first down training why QBs should move front foot first” we have a couple there
I’m wanting to be a quarterback. I’m going to be a freshman this upcoming season. I was a backup quarterback last year I’m bantam, how do I get my coaches attention to try me at quarterback?
So usually with freshman football they will ask your position and split you up that way- so make sure you go with the QBs. Then, it’s all about accuracy, arm strength and extending plays with your feet. Not necessarily running but footwork that can make you avoid pressure etc. all of those things will catch a coaches eye. Also make sure you know your offensive playbook like the back of your hand
how come my throws always face upwards, or to the side kinda, bc it makes my throws not drop correctly on deep throws and i wanna fix it but idk how. i tried straightening my wrist like i saw u say i’m a video abt it going to the side but i still am having trouble
Thanks coach! I'm wanting to do qb, gonna be a jr next season, and our team literally doesn't have a QB. These will help a lot!
Yessir! Glad the drills can help, I appreciate you watching

Hey coach, can you make a video on how to lead your recievers because when I say a route but they just stand there and ask for the ball

Be confident with your throws and show that your a leader to your teammates.
you gotta work harder then the starter. practice hard and fix your big mistakes that you know u have even if it’s something like just ur throw motion
Think you already are a QB

Can you do a run on the throw one
