Marissa, you're doing great. You have honest reactions and we ❤ you for it. Life is hard, but there are pockets of beauty that make it worth while. You're one of those pockets whether you realise it or not.
Totally captivating comments at the end, Marissa. It takes an intelligent and compassionate mind like yours (and Ren's) to see the dangers of the direction we are heading in as a society. Know that even one person hearing you and then questioning their outlook on life makes what you are doing so worthwhile. Never lose heart and don't give up on what you believe in. The world needs people like you.
16:06 "Parasites inside a petri dish with cannibal minds" and "riches turn to rubble when perspective evolves" his so hard. I want one of those as a tattoo
Love your comments at the end. You’re right. The system needs to be broken. But, don’t give up hope. Ren is just shining a light. I, personally, think that serious change CAN happen in your lifetime. Not, mine, because I’m old as fuck. But I hold that hope. I fight against ignorance whenever I encounter it. I still honestly believe that humanity can do better. Keep your head up. Pick your battles. Don’t give in. We can do this.
Thank you, dear, for your words of courage and truth. The collapse is already here and will soon be impossible to notice. A bad place in time to raise a kid, like I do. Welcome to Sweden when everything fall apart around us.
It does seem hopeless at times but showing up for your community and helping others and giving love ❤️ is all we have don’t give up hope you are amazing xx
Love your reaction Marissa, and I’ve always said the same as you since I lost the naïveté of youth, ignorance is bliss. We can never have that better world, because humanity isn’t one thing. We will always have psychopaths, sociopaths and narcissists among us, and they will always crave power over other people in some way, because of their inherent flaws. I often wonder what the world would be like if everyone were like them, or if they didn’t exist, and everyone had empathy
Change is possible. It's happened time and time again, throughout history. If we continually say "change isn't possible" then it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Nor are any of the personality traits that you mention purely down to genetics. The systems we have encourage and reward those traits. Even if they were genetic, it still only accounts for a tiny proportion of humanity. If they're dominant and rewarded, it's because we allow it, sometimes actively, more often passively. Real change is absolutely possible. Don't ever be cowed into believing otherwise! :) It may take time. We have to build towards it, bit by bit. There will be setbacks and times when it seems hopeless but change will come! As long as we stay focused on the goal and keep pushing, eventually that dam will burst! :)
I love this song and watching reactions to it because once you really get this, you can see it in your face. You're so sweet and GET IT for sure. I enjoy all your Ren reviews but this one was definitely well worth the watch and maybe each time we watch his videos that we become slightly that much better of a people. GREAT JOB!!
its one of the most beautiful videos every made, his messages are perfect every time. its just sad that he is not heard by those he is talking about. and nothing changes. i was waiting for your reaction as soon as you put 1 and 2 up. because you actually react to not only the music but the reasoning too. and yes your right, this way the world is f******. is it to late, i hope not.
Greetings from Germany, Marissa. I like your style and attitude. Stay as you are!! And by the way, welcome to the global Ren Family. I wish you only the best.
Always enjoy your Ren reactions. This won multiple awards in Europe & UK for Ren And Samuel. Ren on Piano - 'For Joe' & 'Mackay' which is a pure instrumental, no words, both tributes to friends he lost. I'm all too familiar with how the world works, as Ren says in the Chapters - once your basic needs are met, there's no such thing as survival of the fittest, it's those who are willing to co-operate. Carry on entertaining, you're doing a great job, laced with words of wisdom.
Great perspective. I know what you mean. I was always aware of inequality and injustices and couldn't understand why everyone seemed to lack empathy. Ignorance really is bliss, you got that right! The older i get, the less i can take, you may even one day finding yourself like me and actually willingly wish to be ignorant some times. That's not something i wanted to be, but you can only take so much. That's when they really have won though, i feel.
The biggest problem with dismantling the system is that you need something to replace it with -- like, something that's ready to go at full speed immediately -- otherwise it's just chaos and anarchy. Even a broken system is better than living in constant fear and danger because there's no system to regulate the people who would take advantage of there being no system. On the bright side, I do disagree with your assessment that things won't change in your lifetime. Rn, it looks like a HUGE problem that's so entrenched that it's insurmountable. I mean, there are 8 billion people on the planet overseen by huge, inefficient systems that have been put together piecemeal over hundreds of years and you can't turn a cruise ship on a dime. But the key to changing everything is removing the thing that drives the engine in the first place and which all the rest of the system is built on: Money. Historically, the idea of getting rid of money would've been impossible but we're entering an age where it's going to happen organically. Why? AI and automation. Technology is growing exponentially, science and tech are emerging and converging faster and faster, and jobs that, only a few years ago, people thought were impossible for a computer to do are being done (at least to some degree) by computers and AI. And we're still just in the very early stages of it. AI is still in its infancy and, as we've seen throughout history, tech doesn't go backwards. No matter what you think of the current state of AI, it will only get better and better. Still, even at this very early stage of development, we're already seeing jobs being displaced by AI, robots, etc, and that's going to not only continue but increase. So what happens when there are fewer and fewer jobs and nobody's making money? As a company, who do you sell your product or service to if no one has a job to earn money to buy products or services? And we don't even have to get to a place where technology has replaced all jobs; even a large-ish chunk of people being out of work will disrupt the economy so hard that it'll go into a tailspin. So what does this mean? At some point, money is going to stop making sense. People who've followed the rise of tech very closely (and who, y'know, read a lot of Kurzweil and the like) have seen this situation coming for years. And, finally, in the last couple election cycles, we see certain politicians are starting to see it coming as well and what to do about it is being discussed (Andrew Yang, e.g.) The rise of talk around a Universal Basic Income comes directly from the recognition of this issue on the horizon. But anyone who truly understands the problem realizes that UBI is just a band-aid to get through a transition period (because giving people free money to buy things simply to justify the continued selling of things is not a long-term solution and, at it's base, is comical). It's to make a transition to a money-less society less bumpy until the whole system is changed over to the next thing. In my experience, people get mad when you talk about this because there's this idea that capitalism = America and thinking it's run its course is somehow unpatriotic or whatever (which, personally, I think is just propaganda-fueled Stockholm Syndrome talking). But the truth is, while capitalism has been a good engine for innovation, the rise of technology is turning it into a system that has run its course and, whether people want it or not, it's going to stop making sense and need to be replaced by something else. With tech and all the things that will come from it, we're headed for a post-scarcity world without the need for money. There'll still be greed and corruption, I'm sure, because, at our core, we're still animals (and worse still, pack animals), and until the evolution of our thinking catches up with the evolution of our society, people will still find ways to be horrible to each other. But the type of greed and corruption we see currently is hard to maintain in a world with plenty for everyone, no need to fight over resources, and no need to trade most of the hours of your life for a handful of dimes. And, as long as we don't blow ourselves up first or reset everything with some ignorance-driven, ill-advised revolution or civil war, that's where we're headed. And, yes, very much within your lifetime.
Such a great reaction as always! Love watching all your reactions to his work as you dive deeper into the rabbit hole! Keep it up, you are awesome! You gotta check out loves healing you by wynand fourie! It will solidify the renagade in you! 😁.
change is possible, it starts one person at a time. i can't change the system i can change me, he can change he she can change she, its the way to change we.
Another great reaction, thank you! Now I have to pester you about doing The Story of Eden, yet again... Um, do The Story of Eden, please, please... You rock.
Hi there Marissa, I really like your reaction to this vid. I'd like to know how old you are because you look so young and yet you seem to have a fine grasp on how the world works/ doesn't work! :( cheers from Canada :)

He brought the suit and tie back for Back On 74/Message In A Bottle. I want to know where he got the suit! Fits perfectly.
Jacket very expensive according to knox hill, bespoke. That’s why he took it off before the rain part.
@@LouHeritage Must be nice!
Hi Marissa! You did it! "Eden" is the epilogue of that trilogy, and "Money Ties"also follows that avenue...
Ooh Eden is deep, I only found that last week, when I was checking to see if I missed anything
When you've watched the first 2 parts, come back and watch that ending again. It'll blow your mind! :)

One of Ren's darkest songs. Great reaction from a sympathetic soul. You did it again!
