    Thanks ! 2022 and is still usefull: I once bought 2 unit of this model, now trying to maintain one working for my student daughter (this computer still can do all the basic works you really could ask: write a document, print it, do internet researches, and even watch Netflix.

    Thanks for the clear, simple video. I needed to clear a noisy fan but couldn't work out how to disconnect the keyboard, touchpad and so on once I had the back off. Of course, the answer was to remove the keyboard from the top as well as undoing the back.
    PS: The noisy fan was caused by a component bar code label that had come loose and gotten sucked across the fan and heat sink

    Thanks. Saved me, I had managed to disassemble, but did not get how to lift the keyboard - made it really hard to reassemble it.

    Muss man den Bildscirm abnehmen, wenn man nur die Wärmeleitpaste erneuern will?

    Great video. Successfully upgraded the cpu in my niece's C650 from 2GHz T3300 Celeron with GL40 chipset to a nippier 2.4GHz T8300 C2D cpu. Intel Speedstep seems to be working with latest BIOS installed with T8300. Note GL40 can only use CPUs with 800MHz FSB like T8300 or more expensive T9300/T9500.

  • @TheExon29
    @TheExon29 6 років тому

    Nice, sadly I will have to wait to get another, sharper, screwdriver. Somehow, one screw was already nearly rounded off - now it is very difficult to get it to loosen up.

    Interesting - I'll be replacing the dc power jack in mine soon so this is invaluable thanks. Whilst its in bits I'll blow the dust out with a compressor - any bits I should avoid, and any other "while you're down there" tips ??

    I have an old Toshiba Satellite C655 that I'm trying to upgrade. I went from a Celeron to a Duo Core 2 processor and 2 Gigs Ram to 8 Gigs. I also replaced the motherboard from V000225020 PN#1310A2355302 to V000225020 PN#6050A2355301. Now I get power only from the AC cord but no power at all from the battery. Power light comes on but nothing happens. Both motherboards came from a C655 but have different part numbers. Could that be my problem?

    I need a whole new case. the hinges cracked the plastic holding it.
    WHERE CAN I BUY IT??

    • @fulkersonj
      @fulkersonj 5 років тому

      Common problem. My daughter and her husband both had this model and both had cracked mounts for the hinges after four years. I was able to fix one by getting a replacement top section on eBay. The other also needed a top section but I also had to repair the mount on the bottom by making metal reinforcements and gluing them in place with Gorilla glue. After two months, everything is still holding. If you replace the top, be aware that you will either need new grounding foils or very carefully remove and reuse the old ones. The touch pad will also probably need replaced. It is glued in place and very difficult to remove without damage, even with heat.
