Thank you so much for this great tutorial :) I love that you run us through the process first rather than jumping in blind. My first is on their way and I've been preparing to cloth diaper them and I'm planning on making a couple from wool for my stash to see how I like the style :) Thanks again!!
If I made this with one solid color should I turn my rows for the main part and back part? OR should I work it like the video regardless of lack of color change?
I was just doing the gauge swatch today and I was wondering if the gauge you wrote was made with a 4mm hook and aran weight yarn? I couldn't get the gauge using those or any hook really. Perhaps you used the 3mm hook with the DK yarn to get that gauge? Thanks for the help. I may just have to modify the pattern for my gauge.
I was wondering why the body of my shorts weren't looking like the one in the pattern only to notice that the change of hook happened in a flash! I've completely finished so there's no turning back. It was kinda annoying but I'll manage
Hello. Great tutorial! I just wanted to know whether it is ok to use aran yarn for the ribbing also as I don't have any DK yarn to hand? (What if I go down a hook size with the aran in the ribbing? Will it work?)
Hi! :) I would recommend you to stay with a 3.0 mm crochet hook and I think you should be fine. :) The ribbing will come out slightly bigger, but you will be able to make it fit perfectly around the waist area because of the chain placed in the ribbing. :) If you decide to try it, please let me know how it went. :)
Yes, sure! :) Just make sure you are using the right yarn weight and that your gauge with that yarn matches my gauge. You can find the gauge in the written instructions on my blog. :) Happy crocheting! :)
I just finished the waist and noticed that the joined ends aren’t aligned with the middle of the rows 36-38. Maybe I lost the row account. Could you please give me an advise!
My stitches are pretty close/tight so it could cover a diaper but could NOT be used as a diaper. Although as a crochet diaper cover it is not waterproof its just for looks👶, and would need to be washed on delicate and layed flat to dry. 😊
I prefer not to know the process first. The more you explain what we are doing before we do it, the more confusing it gets. If you just tell me what stitches to do for each row, demonstrate a couple, that is enough for me. Your camera angle could be closer and you could spend more time pointing to the stitches we are working into, that would be helpful. So far, at row 39, my stitches are off. Not going well. I also got confused by so many stitch markers. With this small piece, it'd be easier to just count the stitches at the end of each row.

Your blog says the last main part row (row 11) is done in sc not hdc...
How long does it take to make
Can this Be Made with 100% acrylic jarn

Can anyone tell me if this pattern would be suitable for a cloth diaper cover? Or are there too many gaps between stitches?
Liza Seavers It would work as a diaper cover in general but not like a cloth diaper cover to go over flats/prefolds bc it wouldn’t be waterproof

In round 2 of he main part, I could not see where the stitches were and ended up with 70 instead of 66
What is ‘aran’ and DK?
I’m from India and these terms are not used there.
Aran weight and DK weight are yarn weights. You can find more about yarn weight classification here: www.ravelry.com/help/yarn/weights 😊
