the us probably could of won if it weren't for the trolls. It would be cool to see a similar set up but with medieval units charging the bridges and a smaller individual force to guard each bridge
The trolls carried the zombies to victory, without them the US still would have lost due to the shear number of zombies, but it would have been way closer of a battle.
Having a part of the defending army on attack mode was super fun. It keeps the fight way more dynamic. And also having the trolls as some kind of hero-zombie was very nice. It gives some personality to the faceless swarm.
Maybe it's more fun, but when they attacked they scattered and at this point it was clear they would lose. An army with defensive units-only would win. Even if it would only be garanteed without trolls imho.
Those shotgunners on the other bridge nearly lost it to the trolls but pushed them back and reclaimed the bridge, then held onto it until everyone else lost their positions. Bravo to them. And just an eyeballing of them it seemed once they retook it, they lost little to none defending until they were flanked.
The damage on the thompsons and shotguns needs to be raised to at least the level of a roman with a sword, the fire rate needs to double, and the shermans need their machineguns, at least two if not all three of them. also the shermans need to have twice the fire rate that they have, one shot every 4 seconds.
That would make the entire WW2 faction untouchable which would render them unusable in battles. The shotgun and kar98 do need a damage buff, and thompson could have a slightly better RoF and dmg. Not sure about the shermans changes though, I think it would need direct dev intervention because it changes up a lot of mechanics (no unit has 2 weapons so far) and given how much they're working on (they want to double the units and maps currently in game), they wouldn't spend time to change a single unit, and I don't want them to. Daley has a lot of other more accurate WW2 sim videos, you should check them out if you want more realism :)
The downfall of the battle for the US was when the right wing got too overstreched and eventually died, making trolls and zombies pour in and destroy the scattered defenses. Also when the main bridge defense got so many kills that the body pile created a bridge over the river for the zombies to cross.
I think it wasn’t over-stretching that got the right flank but at the bridge thanks to the buildings American fire was separated leading to their defeat the Ai should have been less greedy on their approach or noted the problem and pushed forth. “That zombie bridge” also wrecked the Americans because now the zombies could take cover from Sherman and extra definitely not all but extra Thompson fire.
Dynamic fun battle. One thing I would suggest is I think a timelapse of defenses slowly getting overrun would be more interesting than some of the ones you chose. Focusing on the static rooftop fighters when the other flank was being overrun and missing that collapse entirely was an odd choice.
In the future, you need to emphasize the static flanks more, and perhaps have a final reserve in the rear. With so many zombies and body piles negating fixed defensive emplacements (and blocking ranged weapons). I think you need to separate your forces in two; the meat shields and the final redoubt in the hills.
My favorite battle thus far! The stations and chokepoints made the terrain interesting, and the attacking shotgunners made the whole thing more dynamic and surprising. I doubt the military would have survived nearly that far if they hadn't pushed through to the side bridges like that!
Might've gone better if you'd had one Sherman on the bridge, two providing support fire from higher elevation, and maybe have a Sherman on each flank attacking with the shotgunners. It was really the trolls and then the body pile(s) hindering line of fire that brought the U.S. down. "We killed so many we couldn't see the rest of them!"
The piles helped the zombies a little, but it the flank which completely destroyed the US. If the main bridge would be set to assualt, they would eventually push out (unlike the left flank, which couldn't because they had less support) and get surrounded after overextending, like the right flank.
The assault is obviously the main reason they lost. Firepower is everything in this game, since they're no friendly fire. A static concentrated mass is just 100x more powerful. That's actually why the first assault team on that second bridge did so well: they (mostly) stopped moving, overall I mean. And concentrated their fire, by some miracle.
I had a feeling the body piles were going to be the ultimate undoing for the US. With so many zombies, they'd make their own bridges and the tactical advantage of the defenders would be gone.
I would really like to see, if you do this again, a main force on each bridge! If it's supposed to be a bridge defense then each bridge should be defended. So the zombies have to work for the flank. They were spread to thin over all the bridges on this map to give a accurate fight. Great video as always! Love your content!

I would like to see the same setup with only zombies (5 million) and then the same setup with only 2,000 trolls. I am curious (with the way the body piles were) if it would end up being closer, but still a US loss with only the zombies.
I really think that the Army could’ve won if there were no trolls mixed in. And maybe if more troops were added to the right side attacking force. They did not have enough troops to defend all of those bridges to the right, where as the left all focused on one bridge and probably could’ve kept them at bay if they weren’t surrounded at the end.
Unfortunately, the zombie's numbers were just too big. Trolls helped to soften the U.S. forces, but ultimately I don't think they really mattered. Once the body piles began to form secondary and tertiary bridges where the U.S. forces were weaker, it was over. It certainly didn't help that a huge portion of the U.S. shotgunners went and suicided themselves by taking additional bridges. The first group, sure, they did good. However, the second push on the "right" side shouldn't have happened. Once the first push were routed that plan should've been aborted and shotgunners should've stayed put and ran interference for the SMG gunners. Even then, the zombies numbers still would've overwhelmed them eventually, but it might've delayed the end a bit longer.
@@pierrecurie The first bridge and the second, sure. When they went for the third though they opened themselves up for flanking on the fourth which was very close by. Could've worked if they'd taken both at the same time, but failing and trying again cost them most of their shotgunners. I didn't believe it was possible as soon as I saw the shootgunners running towards the zombies. No chance to win at at all, despite the ones on bridge2 doing surprisingly well (because they stopped moving, actually), it was kind of a miracle honestly. No troll + static units would probably be a win. If the units are well placed.
This looks familiar. Same map, I had the US Army hold with just 2,000 against 5 million zombies. You put shotgunners defending on the bridge itself, with riflemen overlooking them on the shore, and then tanks on either side of them along the river bank. Result I got was not one casualty among the US forces.
@@KirbyZhang The zombies were killed on the far side of the bridges when I did it. The piles were tall, but the piles also didn't extend far onto the bridges. I haven't tried it with the most recent updates though, my version was before nukes got introduced.

I have seen a few bridge battles and when there are millions of zombies as they die they are able to form body bridges. To limit it you set up the forces to kill not front line, but in the rear of the zombies.
I just discovered these battle simulations. Thanks! They're so fun. If possible I think spreading out 4 Sherman tanks (2 on the main bridge and one to advance on each flank) might help. Also, it looks like 2.5 millions zombies was the tipping point. The US forces collapsed after that. So maybe 30,000 US troops are needed, or maybe 20,000 but positioned differently. Anyway, thanks again.

It seems like there are two possible strategies to maximize the effectiveness of the US troops. 1) Bunch up the troops as tightly together as possible in order to minimize the cross-sectional perimeter that the zombies can attack from. 2) Send more assault troops in the beginning to take the flanking bridges asap. Having the units in the back is a waste of firepower because they were too far away to shoot at zombies. They should have been sent to the flanks with the assault team.

16:37 you can see that the zombie bodies pilled up so much they made a bridge with there corpses 18:44 you cant even tell theirs a bridge there anymore
Idea? The box in a box(or pentagon) formation with melee units on the inside who assault zombies only when the outside missile units become overwhelmed.
you should do zombies against the entire DOD. Army, Marines, Navy and Air Force and yes, Coast Guard. Including the entire U.S. arsenal minus nukes. I think that would be very interesting
this game is insane, how you can run so many dead corps and give them all a physic and not even lag, when the game support millions of units and bullets at the same time.
I would love to see this exact battle again, but with the addition of smaller defence and attack forces spread out alongside the river. So the exact set up as you have now, but add multiple defence and attack groups spread out along the river on bridges and chokepoints. I would also sprinkle in some tanks or other hardware in with these smaller groups.
The left flank was losing to trolls at first, but as they drove deeper the full mass of soliders were able to fire on them. I feel like one sherman per bridge could have increased kill count
To keep the zombies from building the body bridges you might try loading up with long range hitters like tanks and catapults. Hold them at the bridge, but kill them in the rear.
I have a recommendation! What about a few hero units defending the town vs. every other battle unit? BTW I really love these videos! Thank you for taking the time to make these!
Hey brother love your content it would be amazing if you can leave the camera at the more strategic parts of the battle. I feel like Im missing pivotal moments. Thanks bro keep up the good work.
Given that the US has range weapons, all they need to do is slowly retreat as zombies approach? The tanks provide covering fire. And target the trolls. Send the frontline as far forward as possible to meet the zombies. (I’d also blow the bridges, but that makes it less interesting. Or you use them as choke points, ignoring the zombies on the shoreline until they begin to walk on water.)

The Trolls are over done. All the lead flying their way and dont go down.
Maybe you should do smaller army bc its obvious from the start that 5 millions is too much. The biggest army is almost always winning
16:37 you can see that the zombie bodies pilled up so much they made a bridge with there corpses 18:44 you cant even tell theirs a bridge there anymore
This one was a good one, I liked the trolls, it gives the zombies a strategic possibility.
Maybe less zombies, there where too many left at the end!
These are the best vids
Romeros Zombies would be a different thing :)) awesome video!!
I thought from the beginning that the US totally didnt have this. And when you said Trolls, I was almost pissed haha.
Yeah if you did Juno beach on the other vid, I don't think there was an option for Brits sipping tea after landing. 🤔
The main causality on these scenarios will always be the eardrums of the soldiers.
Multiple team free for all with multiple bridges might be fun to watch if not done already. or teams of multiple factions assaulting different bridges
A good idea I'd like to see is the us and Germans working together and they try to defend a town against the Spartans and Persian and or trolls
Good video only critique would have been nice to have some of the timelapses over where the zombies where actually going to attack the US :)
U. S. Army: okay guys. Let’s kill some zombies!
5 seconds later…
U. S. Army: oh crap we ran out if bullets!
Zombies: yay. Dinner!
Daley could you do for men of war commander wolffe attacks a nearby town with resistance fighters against a group of pirates raiding the town
I would love more trolls. They’re entertaining. Mixed in with zombies is nice too
Thought they had a chance at least. Oo, maybe have a group of soldiers and some tanks defending the castle map from zombies and trolls?
Hey brother love your content it would be amazing if you can leave the camera at the more strategic parts of the battle. I feel like Im missing pivotal moments. Thanks bro keep up the good work.
Given that the US has range weapons, all they need to do is slowly retreat as zombies approach? The tanks provide covering fire. And target the trolls.
Send the frontline as far forward as possible to meet the zombies.
(I’d also blow the bridges, but that makes it less interesting. Or you use them as choke points, ignoring the zombies on the shoreline until they begin to walk on water.)
