Great video! I was born and raised vegetarian myself (and now pretty much 100% vegan the last 5 years). You younger runners are the future man! One thing I will always preach is make sure your vitamin B12 levels are good. That is basically the only thing I'd ever worry about as a vegan athlete. I mean, athletes of all diets should monitor things like their B12/Iron/Vitamin D levels in general. I just want to make sure people get a balanced vegan (plant based) diet...which I believe can be a very, very healthy diet for most people and something runners/endurance athletes can really thrive on. Not to mention its generally a lot better for the environment and a more efficient distribution of food/resources. Great work with the videos on this channel too...keep up the awesome content and running!
Wow, so great video! I really enjoyed seeing so young generation in it! I felt so satisfied when people answered on your question how do they feel about your veganism - insecure, bad, etc. not because I’m bad person or something, but just because they actually understand you r going right thing and they don’t. Entire video just so positive! Thank u!
Moderation is key. I think adding natural variety to your diet is best. Also, good luck with your season! Mad respect for you running fast even stuck on JV. It would be cool to race with you sometime!
How can I start?! What’s a good way to get into it and know all the stuff? Having a disappointing senior season and have some kind of injury so on my two week break Ive decided to change my diet!
Eating a mostly plant based diet plus good meats like wild fish and free range chicken on occasion can be more healthy than eating totally vegan. Dairy is unnecessary but not harmful unless consumed excessively.
True, social aspects can be tricky. You just need to be chill around other family/friends about why you eat what you do. The future is almost here though with lab grown meat looking to hit the shelves in the near future. So I think that everyone will be able to join in the spirit of veganism one day; that is to eat in a way that doesn't hurt our planet with excessive agriculture and methane gas. But yes the vegan diet does meet all nutritional needs when you do it correctly, that is make sure you include important foods like fruit, veggies, starches, nuts, seeds, legumes, fats, etc. and is great for athleticism.
Almond milk has 50% more calcium, but it’s fortified, which makes the calcium in milk a legitimate source of calcium. Also, almond milk may be low in calories, but it’s just a water blended with almonds, and vitamins and minerals added to it. It’s not more or less healthy than milk.
I would suggest just trying to eat less meat and dairy first. Get almond milk to replace milk and go from there. I think thats the most sustainable for most people.
I want to go vegan or at least try it for s while. The biggest drawback for me is maintaining the diet and having to chose/make meals. Also no one in my family and none of my friends are vegan so it’s kinda intimidating.
Super interesting, I am trying my best to be dairy free rn, my tolerance (especially to milk) is very low so I am on almond milk, but I'd def like to see more stuff on being a vegan (Ik this vid is old, but I just saw it now 😂)
It’s great to see successful vegan athletes out there. I think that preventing the progression of heart disease and cancer is reason enough to eat vegan, but I agree that it also does help with running. Especially if you are eating mostly whole carbohydrates. Keep it up, man!
Cutting out meat will not give you any sort of advantage over the competition. Non processed meats are obviously better than processed, but the idea that meat is some horrible thing has been blown way out of proportion.
Ian Busche Don't think you're special, I'm a freshman with a pr of 17:38, not even a top 70 freshman in the state of Michigan. North Dakota is just ass
Jmwdigitals On Instagram our weather is shit our meets are 25 degrees and 30 mph winds dumbass as an 8th grader I ran a 4:49 mile in 105 degrees at state did you
jason stephenson raw liver is the single most nutrient dense food on the entire planet. Fact. Look up vegan malnourishment videos to see what people look like after a couple years of your cult diet. This is coming from an ex vegan , it ruined my teeth. Raw milk and raw meat have changed my life.
jason stephenson incorrect. You wouldn’t be alive without your ancestors eating meat. Vegetables are a luxury. Haven’t had a vegetable in over a year and am the strongest , skin clearest it’s ever been, blood literally better than when I was a vegan. You might be fine for now but give it a couple years

Yes!
Do it I want to see what you eat
Mher yes, pls, do it
@@tomjenner6818 Ah yes I forgot that you were the runner with nearly a 4 minute mile here
I'm not a vegan, but I'm interested in learning more about it (especially athletic benefits). Great vid. Good luck to you out there 👌🏼
Cool.
I took your advice and went from a 20:03 to a 17:18 5k in one season. Thanks!
Are you a vegan?

@@christianb164 Okay. Why?

I'm a vegitarian! Also love your videos and congrats on NXN!
YEA dude! Keep doing what you believe in. I'm definitely with you on this one.
What would you suggest for someone suggesting going vegan?
I would suggest just trying to eat less meat and dairy first. Get almond milk to replace milk and go from there. I think thats the most sustainable for most people.

Cole sprout isn't vegan...

Silk almond milk is the best 😫
Could you make a video about healthy eating and what to eat. I really need to know some good xc meal plans
Easton I am not vegan but I completely support your decision if it makes you run faster. Keep the good work up and keep posting.
Thanks man!
What are some of the things u eat daily?
Travis Jensen I’ll make a video on it soon! Too much to type haha
ha yeet
Hello! I eat a lot of fruit and veggies, oatmeal, burritos, smoothies, all sorts of stuff
almond milk also tastes better
Comical Raptor Soy milk is 100x better
What if your vegan 5/7 of the week do you think the extra two days mean anything?
Yeah, I think it would help to be vegan 7 days, but being vegan 5 is awesome too!
Cool. How long have you been a vegan?
I think a lot of people avoid vegan diets because of the cost of meals
Yeet that’s me
yes baby, vegan is the way!! Go Easton!
You dont eat dairy
what do you eat for thanksgiving
haha I can't remember honestly but it was good actually
Yo is there anyway I can contact you. I'm a sophomore runner from Arkansas. Btw I was in your festival of the miles vlog ;))
Yes, DM me on instagram @eastoncreedallred
Noah McMurtrey Really? I’m a sophomore from Arkansas as well. What school do you go to? I go to Parkview Magnet Science/Arts.
Cutting out meat will not give you any sort of advantage over the competition. Non processed meats are obviously better than processed, but the idea that meat is some horrible thing has been blown way out of proportion.
this is so fye because I’m vegetarian and I also run xc and people ask me how I do it but I just live off of bread 😂
How did you expand your channel so much?
Its been a little slow, Ive just tried to keep making videos!
Easton Creed Allred That’s what I probably need to do also, thanks!
Dude Vegan Squad!!!
A lot of your best ULTRA runners / athletes are now vegans. & BTW , your eating my food’s food.
I’m a vegan runner too!!🌱💕
Being a sprinter being a vegan would slow me down
Runaflex lol ur dumb tons of athletes eat meat (mo Farrah)
Thats true! You don't have to be vegan to be a great athlete. Its certainly doesn't hurt though
I think it would help!
Animal protein absorbs faster then plant based protein
BOLT CLAN most people get way more protein that they need without even trying
Pretty gnarly
yea
damn i thought i was the only one who got bad inflammation from meat/animal products. #GoVegan
My parents: No
I’ll pass
Woohoo!! Go vegan athletes!!!👍👍😆🌱
Watching this while eating potato chips
Chips are my weakness. So good
It’s not worth the pain bro I’m a freshman at a 17:39 in North Dakota ranked 12th in the state number 1 is 15:56

No hate towards you at all but Mo Farrah’s diet includes grilled chicken
a friend turned vegan, two weeks later, Achilles injury. coincidence I think not
Connor Berne definitely coincidence
I'm a hater and idk why
You need meat bro
