    Those 50/50s hurt, I know it may seem slow but a couple weeks ago I lost what would have been a sub 75 expert mode (at the time I had not even broke 80) to a 50/50 and that really crushed my soul

      It wasn't 50/50. At 8:22, did you see the "1" 6 down to the leftmost column? That played a huge role in making sure that it wasn't 50/50. If he had chosen the last one just one square up, then that 1 would have actually been 2, which would have been impossible because a number can't change.

      Learned after a while hit the 50/50 as soon as you see it, no other choice. Best times 1 sec. 9 sec. 48. Those were back in college in the early 2000's haven't played much in the last 15 to 20 years. Glad to see it's still going strong.

      @@BrentTJo I'm getting really close to sub minute for expert (63), no other board interests me, but yeah you just have to send 50/50s when you see them, I think its best to have locked in the choice you make for common 50/50s so you don't even think about the choice. For instance on the diagonal 50/50 I guess top left and bottom right, and for the side by side, I guess away from the wall.

    I remember trying high difficulty games and I got the impression they're almost about pure luck. I can't comprehend it properly if it's me being not good enough or I need to be so lucky to solve one. I'd like to solve a 100k one in the future for 100 trophies so I wanted to ask if skill even plays a role here or rather how much of it? Let's say you can more or less solve evil ng's is that already enough to start attempting a 100k puzzle? Or maybe you need to get even better than that? Also what kind of a 100k puzzle is better to solve? I see that some people use small boards some being even the size of an intermediate board which is very small compared to these ones with 900+ mines. If someone who solved one of these (or just very knowledgeable) gave me an insight on all of this I'd really appreciate it
    Anyways that's an amazing record! I can't imagine how dedicated you have to be to pull this off

      @@harryfan8785 yeah I was curious at what point it becomes just luck. Thanks for the insight. I still need to become better at evil ng which is just about patterns and logic
      I posted my original comment a week ago and at this point I think I can answer some of my questions. Small boards are harder than bigger boards even if the website says they are of the same difficulty. It's really easy to get stuck on small boards because of mine density and from that point it becomes luck. Even people who have 50 seconds pb on expert and 80 on evil ng get stuck fast. You can do probability calculation (there are even guides for that) to increase your chances of getting through a wall but it's still about luck because you can't tell for certain where is the safe cell and where is the mine. I've been doing event quests from others for 2 days now and this is how I found out all of this. Custom boards quests aren't problematic for me but sometimes it gives a smaller board than usual with the same difficulty and I got stuck for a day on one. Like I said for website they're equally difficult yet the small board felt like 10 times as difficult
      So from how I understood everything 900+ mines boards should be the most skill based and the least luck based. Obviously 100k boards even with 999 mines will need a lot of luck but smaller boards will need even more of it so I'd rather do a big one. I won't do it any time soon but knowing what to choose is already a good start
      Also I looked at the tab called statistics to see which high diff boards people solve. I put the info into an excel sheet to see how often they win and it confirmed my thoughts. Boards with 800-999 mines have the highest win rate out of all
      nice name btw

    man i just started playing and the rules seemed incredibly tedious. I am learning however, my win ratio is elevating (easy mode) I'm still trying to figure some things out but this game is so much fun.

    Have I been playing it wrong? Do you have to start in a corner, or is it just a good tactic for some reason?

    How are the mines cleared w/o flags? Can you explain the signifcance of "without flags" in a follow-up version intro (or in reply to this)? Thanks.

    • @Мопс_001
      @Мопс_001 Рік тому +1

      I believe this is because with flags you don't need to remember which cell is which in order to progress further (+you cannot accidentally open flagged cell), and also with flags you can make simultaneous RMB+LMB click and open solved cells automatically without counting.
      So with none of that you can rely on your accuracy and memory only
