Zacian and Zamazenta are a duo, but I agree that they were underwhelming. Solgaleo and Lunala are also a duo, but they are my favourites. Not because of their abilities in battle, but because of their role in the story. Nebby is presented as a sort of mirror to Lillie, and as Nebby transforms into either Solgaleo or Lunala, you can tell that Lillie’s character has finally gone from being the weak girl who had been shattered by abuse into a strong and confident character who is ready to take on even the horrors of Ultra Space and Nihilego.

I think the galar trio and alolan trio aren’t like… trios. More like duos with a parasitic 3rd party. Eternatus was a villain that the legendary dogs had to fight to put away, and necrozma was a being from an alternate dimension that wanted to steal solgaleo and lunala’s light. That’s why i honestly think the whole ‘fusion’ aspect of necrozma and solgaleo/lunala is actually pretty abu$ive to the pokemon. The beasts and birds are what i call the side/roaming legendaries, meaning they are optiontional to hunt down. Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma have a special place in my heart. Solgaleo is my absolute favorite legendary, not due to its competitive, but due to the design. Fighting with it is just a plus.

The creation trio were my first legendaries and since then, nothing has bettered them, and Arceus was, and still is a beast to this day. I remember back in the day Arceus was like gold. Man, Sinnoh was so influential. Best Gen of the series by far

@@redxd7108 it has to do with how pokémon was only planned up until generation 2 originally with them being the only legendaries with over 600 base stat totals or major media relevance, they also all have the same base stats just rearranged slightly like most other trio's. Basically them being a trio has to do more with the early plans for the franchise both in game design and marketing rather than a literal lore based link. Despite them being a generation apart they were all designed during gen 1 development and the way mewtwo sticks out among the three is intended to fit the dynamic of kanto and johto representing modern industrialisation and traditional living respectively as that was something heavily emphasized when they planned the games for reasons I am not entirely sure of. Also crystal being an afterthought is the reason it is the only game with a minor legendary on the box, though if more was put into gen 2's cramped schedule we might have ended up with deoxys as the third box legend of generation 2 as it was the only other legendary planned at that time with it being referenced in garbage data of the gen1 games

@@redxd7108 it has to do with how pokémon was only planned up until generation 2 originally with them being the only legendaries with over 600 base stat totals or major media relevance, they also all have the same base stats just rearranged slightly like most other trio's.
Basically them being a trio has to do more with the early plans for the franchise both in game design and marketing rather than a literal lore based link.
Despite them being a generation apart they were all designed during gen 1 development and the way mewtwo sticks out among the three is intended to fit the dynamic of kanto and johto representing modern industrialisation and traditional living respectively as that was something heavily emphasized when they planned the games for reasons I am not entirely sure of.
Also crystal being an afterthought is the reason it is the only game with a minor legendary on the box, though if more was put into gen 2's cramped schedule we might have ended up with deoxys as the third box legend of generation 2 as it was the only other legendary planned at that time with it being referenced in garbage data of the gen1 games

Honestly Weather Trio is #1 for me, and the gen 7 are higher up. I really love their designs, the whole other dimension Cosmog that evolved into the other legendary is cool AF and hard to find, and there's a tad bit of nostalgia there.

Galar legendaries actually represent a chess board, Urshifu being the pawn, Calyrex being the bishop with his big hat, Glastrier and Spectrier being the horses, Zacian and Zamazenta being the queen (Zacian being female and Zamazenta male) and the king and gigantamax Eternatus being the hand that moves the pieces

My big problem with the Tao Trio is... Their story is that they were once a single Pokemon that split up into three parts, and you can fuse Kyurem with either Zekrom or Reshiram, but you can't fuse all three of them together even if you trade to get all three in a single game. I want to see what the original Pokemon looked like. I'm also curious to what typing it would have.
