nope he is at the 7:33 mark ,cheers plus noticed he has not shot at bieley much ,in the us sure f class and ftr ,but at a international level competing i am not sure if he has won it at bisley ?😎😎🦘🦘✌✌
I say come along and try it, we are always looking for new shooters and you will get loads of help, the league also runs a training day in march 24, sometimes you just try it then you will see how much fun it is guy’s
pretty incredible regardless of the rests, the amount of factors affecting that bullet and they are able to be competitive at that range is mind blowing! I'll stick to shotting my .177 Impact out to 70 yards much easier 😂
For such high accuracy rifles, I wonder if they ever consider the loss in accuracy due to wear of the barrel rifling after just a few hundred shots. For most rifles it takes 2500 to 4000 rounds… but for this high a distance and small targets, I would venture to guess that accuracy is affected after a few hundred rounds… We can SIGNIFICANTLY increase wear resistance as compared to chrome lined or nitrided barrels!
Lets say I have a 30 power scope and I have it cranked up to 30 power. The hash marks work at that power..correct? Now say that I am shooting at the same range but I turn the scope power down to 20 power. Are the hash marks still going to be accurate? MOA turrets, moa reticle with hashmarks (verticle and horizontal).
Most F class shooters use optics that are second focal plane and top out at 40x or 65x. At that power a Front Focal Plane optic would have reticals that are too thick for precision at 1000. So most don't use Tactical FFP optics and much prefer SFP. And some F-Class optics only have thin cross hairs. Instead they will often aim at a certain part of the target to compensate.
This is the Formula 1 of rifles. You have to have really Deep Pockets to play this game. Most of these people are extremely snobbish when it comes to other shooting events. You can take the same Shooters give them a $500 rifle like the rest of us have. And they can't even hit the target at a thousand yards.
It doesn't take an exorbitant amount of money to enjoy. You can put together a nice 1000 yarder for under $5000 ($US), that's with Nightforce optics, figure in another $1600 if you want to upgrade to Zeiss. Most people wouldn't be able to hit the paper at a 1000 yards, even using the very same rifles they use. It takes steady, practiced control and you have to learn to dope out the wind and atmospheric conditions, and you need nearly flawless, consistent loads.
That’s correct, you can give them a $500 rifle and they will not be able to hit a 1 MOA (or 10.47”) target at 1,000 meters consistently because the average $500 rifle is only capable of 2-3 MOA at that range. The systems these people are using are coupled with tremendous skill in reading the wind and other factors; one has to commit resources, effort and time to be effective at this sport.
Really impressive shooting going here I’m sure, but funny that it got compared to the “F1 racing” of the shooting world. this is more like golf than any type of racing
Reminds me of my days shooting competition on the high power side. Shooting 200-600 yards with AR15, M1A1 (M14), M1 garands, match rifles and yes space guns. And if your wondering what a space gun is think of a AR15 Lower with a match rifle upper. I have shot in the National matches at camp Perry ohio. They have 2 ranges going at the same time and yes they also have 1 of those ranges that goes to 1,000 yards for the Palma shooting. The best is you get to shoot against big name guys like Tubbs who is a multi National overall champ. The only thing is I wish I could have kept doing this but alas life goes by and things change but man did I have fun shooting in that sport.
I was asked to go to a shooting practice, little did i know its was a F Class shooting practice, i thought it would be some blokes shooting their rifles, you know the normal hunting type of rifles etc, WOw was i blown away, they let me shoot their weapons at 1,200 yards 7.62mm x 51 and also 5.56, my first shoot score was 38/50 and then the 2nd time my score was 48/50, ( Which is 8 shots hit the V and two hit just outside the V Bull) totally impressed with the systems they had, plus i do not have a gun licence / shooters licence, which is ok, if your under supervision at a rifle range its ok, which was at STAWELL VIC. He is right when he said it is Formula 1 Shooting 100%. Like any shooting, its the wind which is so hard to read, its ok when you have had practice in wind and rain or extreme heat, but hey i had not shot a weapon in over 40+ years. Last time i shot a weapon was when i was in the cadets which was the AU SLR 7.62mm x 51 Semi auto weapon system at 400 meters score was 98/100.👌👌✌✌🦘🦘👍👍
I fully appreciate Bisley but I'm taken aback that a license (or supervision?) is required. We don't require a license in Texas and you're welcome any time.
@@JohnSmith-dh4gwWOW so no gun licence is required, if only i had the funds mate, i would go in a heartbeat, to shoot and also to go to dearly plaza, i have been studying the jfk murder now for over 40+ years, it a dream of mine, so till i can afford it, maybe one day, still get a chance to shoot with the f class and match rifle teams here ,which i am really lucky i guess. Thank you for your reply, greatly appreciate it, i hope your well and stay safe. 🦘🦘👌✌👍
I don’t want to fly w my rifle inside the US. Can’t imagine trying to get into another country w crazy gun laws. Not even sure how this is still allowed over there.
@@PaulHill-p4k I can hear the Caddie now after I slice one onto the live part of the range, “oooh that’s a tough lie you take a few clubs and I’ll wait here.”
IMO it's cheating to shoot off an absolute stable rest ...so all you doing is pulling the trigger. Where is the skill in that ? The guy with the biggest wallet wins by getting the best rifle, barrel, trigger, scope, dead rest and ammo.
So you can shoot 5" groups at 1000 yards without a rest? I bet 99% of any shooter would miss the entire target most of the time. F-class is basically prone benchrest . Obviously, it is not for you, you're too superior.
Truth is 75% of these guys have little to no God given shooting talent. All they have is a very FAT wallet. Hell, I'm not poor I just bought a custom Horizon Vandal in 22 Creedmoor and I can't afford to go play with these guys lol. "Superlative skill" Skilled at what? Reading a $500 Kestrel? Turning a knob on a $7000 scope after a handheld computer "Kestrel" calculates everything for you? Fact is that almost anyone can do what you're doing if they can afford it. How much for a rig? $30000. See my point. Sorry to piss you Britts off but we have a saying here. "It is what it is" LOL
There are no electronics allowed on the firing point? Its just you a rifle the wind and the smallest v bull in competition shooting. If its so easy give it a go, sounds like you're the next world champion lol.
Thank you. Great to see other shooting sports/disciplines being represented.
Just watched Erik Cortina on Ultimate reloaded talking about FClass
0:36 - Is that the living legend Eric Cortina i see! :0))

Yup, he's hard to miss!
The enthusiasm and passion are infectious.
What zoom do you guys use on your scopes? I purchased a mark 5 5-25. Was going to grab 7-35 but didn’t know if you needed that high

Some are finished after 750 rounds, their gunsmiths love them.
Someday I'll go there, thanks for sharing powderous brother.

If it’s a FFP scope yes.

I'd love to see the files, scopes and calibres that they use. Some of those rifles look amazing. Looks like a sport for the rich,

You just apply for a visitor's firearm licence at least a few weeks before your trip.
English people talking in yards andd inches?????
Well, the imperial system was invented in britain.
I always say that yards and inches got us to the Moon and Mars. So it must work : )
I'm going to kill two birds with one stone and just golf at Bisley.
Hopefully not when the range is live 😮

Not hard to do when you have unlimited sighters. F-Class is lame.
You only get 2 sighters in the UK.
