Oh brother. Can't envy the northern rust. I am glad you roughed up the old paint. A paint job is only as good as the prep. I'm really partial to gloss because it cleans up better. I'm glad you used krylon because the Rust Oleum bedliner i used on a Jobox was garbage, it flaked off too easy.
I like the durability of bedliner. But it definitely doesn't clean up well haha! And ya I used the Rust-Oleum in the past and it was crap 😂🤦♂️

I found an antique snowblower today. 36 year old Ariens 2 stage. Fired up on 3rd pull.. needs $20 in parts and a few hours of work, but she's fully operational. Great vid btw!!

If you take used motor oil and diesel fuel and mix it at a 50/50 mix. And apply it to your deck, it will water proof it. It will soak in the wood and not be slick. I bought a new trailer in 2004 and it still has the original deck and it still solid. I treat it about every two years and my trailer sets outside year round. You can use a paintbrush or paint roller or sprayer to apply it. Myself I use a cheap paintbrush as it doesn't throw over spray, nothing to clean up and just throw it away. Takes about half an hour. Just something for you to think about.

I painted the metal runners and ramps of my 18' car-hauling trailer with bedliner. Makes for a great non-skid surface when things get wet. That way, the car doesn't slide around on the slick surface Even painted diamondplate is slippery. If you don't believe me, YOU try loading a car that is wearing racing slicks onto a trailer in the rain. I used almost an entire gallon to do the two 18-foot by 18" wide runners and the 5-foot long ramps, rolling it on nice and thick.

I did the same thing to my 5x10 except i jusy slapped on a ton of rustoleum green paint and about 15 cans of clear coat Came out pretty good.I plan on getting a 7x14 enclosed by the end of the year.
Nice man! I bet it looked way better afterwards! Enclosed would be sweet! Would you keep the 5x10 for mulch, leaves, etc...?

Trailer rims rusty around edges....leave them black I say....or paint them neon green or purple. It'll be good to see the mowing work this year. Good luck and God bless

You are an awesome teacher! I have a trailer very similar with higher walls. I want to add some D-Links so I can j hook a motorcycle bar across the front. I bet I could weld the D links to the frame if I can find some the same depth as the wood. Thank you!

Good job on the trailer.that bedliner stuff is the way to go on work trailers I think.I’ve been thinking about doing my tilt bed with satin black house paint due to it being small(6X7),kinda light duty and old(70’s vintage snowmobile trailer)but I might do it with bedliner instead. I’m going to get a 5X10 like your trailer in a couple years but my trailer is looking bad.i haven’t painted it in over 15 years,lol !

blue lock tight the bolts for the trimer rack so the road vibrations dont make them come loose

Nice work!! However I do think the gloss white looks better on the wheels.. kinda brakes up the solid black color and with glossy paint it seems to clean up better.. just my opinion!! Love the videos and all your hard work
Ya after doing it I think I like the white a little more. But the black is growing on me haha
Need to invest in a Milwaukee impact. Battery life is ridiculously good and it’s much fast then a ratchet 👍🏻

Nice presentation Like your hard work and Mind set to get it done 💪, noticed it was cold weather but you found a shed with good old stove to cure it . Now make sure you wear a mask next time that stuff not good for ya, granted it not your life as it is mine .

I would suggest any kind of mask preferably with filters when dealing with rust dust and paint especially if your indoors without any kind of Ventilation

I want to paint our 5 X 8 utility trailer with Raptor liner but I'm unsure of how much to get. I think people usually spray 2 coats on if I remember right.
I am about to paint mine... did the paint hold up with out the primer? how is it after 1 year?
It did! Really well actually. But it probably wouldn't hurt to use some self etching primer first just to make it last even longer

I started when I was 12 with flyers. Now I use door hangers though

I would use a black weather resistant stain for it. The previous owner for my trailer did that and it's held up pretty dang good

It absolutely would. If it was going to be my mowing trailer then I'd do that. But I want the slick to remove debris from it

Good! Only chipped on the front where the rock chips hit from my truck tires

I did spray purple power degreaser first. Helped a ton! I only recorded it in timelapse. But I may do a real time one at some point in the future

The real-time, no music ASMR videos are very popular.
They are! I just find them boring to watch so I don't make them haha. Although I probably will do that some this summer with mowing, hedge trimming, etc...

Not the aluminum that's my dad's. It's super light and easy to move around by hand. But it's 4x7 so it's basically useless for me haha

It's excellent for some of the properties I need it for. I only use the 21" for 2 of my properties. It saves way more time over the 21". If you buy one I'd get used in a heartbeat. They have multiple parts that go out once or twice a season (depending on use) and you might as well buy used. $1000 is a ton for a timemaster (new)
Did you get a black dust on everything in the garage?
Not at all. But this is a thicker paint. It doesn't dust stuff quite like normal spray paint. but if I had anything that I was worried about in there I would have covered it up anyway
