The 'Ladies who bus' are three women who've ridden every bus route in London. Geoff Marshall joins them for their final mission, on the X68 from Russell Square to West Croydon.
Oh my goodness, these old ladies are very enthusiastic. I can't wait for my bus pass. I am 29 years old. Im concerned the world might have ended by then.
I feel the same and I'm just 20! Maybe in 2058 (if I'm still around) I'll probably move up to Scotland so I can ride COACHES (Stagecoach & Citylink) as well as buses!
Something is really nice about riding public transit when you aren't in a rush... In a hurry it's stressful, for enjoyment it's strangely peaceful to watch the chaos
Harambe oh wait till your bus gets terminated beforehand or even worse, gets diverted. Don’t even start with rush hours run especially with them school kids in the upper deck. Omd
I've also recently decided to ride every bus in my city, Calgary, in numerical order. So far I just finished my first journey on Route 1 from Forest Lawn to Bowness Park, now I've only got about 150-ish more routes to go (I'm also gonna exclude school bus services).
The fact that there's another Calgarian on here is kind of neat. What route are you on now? Since the original comment was from 3 months ago, I'd assume you would have at least gone through 2 (Mount Pleasant-Killarney), 3 (Sandstone-Elbow Drive), 4 (North Haven Clockwise), and 5 (North Haven Counter clockwise)
@@meatytraveller Late reply, but I just finished Route 555 today and have officially rode on every single bus route in Calgary. I started way back in late 2019 but stopped for a while in early 2020 when the pandemic hit (I was on Route 159 at the time), resumed where I left off in 2021 though I didn't ride as much at the time since I was busy with college. Now I'm out of school, I managed to finish it all off.
Aww this is cute! I've gotten on the 603 on multiple as it is usually a quicker alternative to the 46. Also, just thinking about the fact that they must've done the 381...my chest hurts even thinking about it!
Mr One Million Subs Great bus route. Used to take it to the shops at wood green, right in to town when showing ppl the city and used to take it to uni a lot when living at home.
Meanwhile in Singapore, I have took the longest Trunk and Loop Services in the whole island... 1. 51(Trunk) From Jurong East (West) to Hougang (North-east), Passing by Pasir Panjang (South). Total distance: approx. 35km. Total time: approx. 3 hours 2. 858 (Loop) From Woodlands (North) to Changi Airport (East) to Woodlands, passing by Yishun (North-central). Total distance: approx. 78km Total time: 3.5 hours* * 858 uses 4 expressways to connect between Yishun and Changi Airport, thus the small difference in time.
I used to live in Singapore. I remember my parents lied to me saying service 67 takes 6 hours to get from Tampines to Chua Chu Kang as an excuse to ride a taxi :P
They should go to Thurrock (Outside of London) and ride every route that runs entirely inside it. Thurrock has the most routes i think in Essex which connect 2 places, 7!
I use the 176 from Leicester Square to Waterloo Station. The on board announcement is "176 to...Penge". I've always promised myself a visit to Penge at some time. The 267 and 281 are basically the same route as the old London United tram routes 1 & 67, and the replacement trolleybus routes that followed. the 281 was extended to run beyond Twickenham to Hounslow, and the 267 terminates at Fulwell Garage, {The old tram / trolleybus depot}, instead of going through to Hampton Court. The 207 / 607 basically follows the old tram / trolleybus route too.
am busy writing books of london bus history etc. It would be Great doing what those fantastic ladies did. that would certainly make my work easier. taking photos, interview drivers and other staff etc.
im glad to see there are people equally crazy. im also on a challenge to go to every single museum, cinema and theatre. hate buses though, motion sickness. hurrah to the bus ladies
600 series routes used to be Trolley bus routes, since they were replaced in the late 50's and early 60's the routes have changed but the route numbers have remained. 200 series - single deck routes 400 series - London Country routes 700 series - Green Line coach routes That was how they were numbered during the L.T.B. and L.T.P.B. days. TFL may do things differently now.
The buses I have been on the most are 6, 316, 52, 302, 182, 297, 187, 206, 18, 102, 232, 245, 98 and 16 aka the buses that go through Queen's Park, Cricklewood, Wembley, Kensal Rise, and Willesden North West London
they should ride surrey bus line E16 run by Epsom Coaches/Quality Line/RATP Group & then surrey bus line E5. Also did you know that LB line 465 is run on behalf of surrey county council & TFL.
The worst lines that even the drivers they don't want to drive are the 142 (Watford Junction- Brent cross) It needs 2 hours+ with traffic to get on Watford from Brent cross..The another worst line is 13 which needs and that 2+ to get on from Victoria to North Finchley..It's the traffic on park lane and the traffic from swiss cottage to north circular road..I suggest to do those li nes
I’d like to know the furthest distance between two bus stops, on London bus’s ? Apparently the furthest distance from point to point in London is 37 miles, but I think bus’s travel further!
So these are the lovely legends ive been following since route 41 ( I think) I recognised them from the R3 I was on. I hope to do this wen I have finished my education but by then the different sounds and essences and smells of London buses would have been all (sadly) replaced by hybrids to try to stop smokers ending the world. :-(
I have videos on the following routes (at the moment): 3, 6, 15, 15H, 23, 29, 38, 47, 53, 68, 73, 88, 91, 253, 274, 390, 393, RV1. The next video will problably be route 205 Bow Church to Paddington.
“We don’t want to get on a school bus because people might think we’re peculiar” - I love these ladies :D
Sitting upstairs 12ft high above the ground and with a panoramic view! ☺👌
It's a great way to travel! 👍😀
I definitely agree I wonder if they went on the W9 🤔
love ya vid❤

most stagecoach At least in the west of Scotland are single decker busses like you would get anywhere else in the uk

Best paraphrase of 'Lethal Weapon' ever, I think.
What fun and what adventurous ladies. They're wonderful. Thanks for drawing attention to their project.
haha "we love going the whole way *chuckels* going the whole route" haha!
These ladies are lovely. I suggest a trip to all parks in London. Nice cups of tea on benches. Spring will be there soon!
+LaWendeltreppe they been doing all the museums lately
How cute are they though

Luke Clary 122 for life
i live on 301 (New route) and 472 routes
Luke Clary Wow, rude bus drivers.
So that's why they terminate at Forest Hill so often!!
@@robkoziorowski7637 not nessecarily. They have specific work time requirements so they'd get into trouble if they continued
something is nice about riding public transit. Dunno what it is.
I hate it. I'm so glad I'm getting a car soon. TFL sucks, but I shouldn't complain, busses were free for me :)
Especially when you're not going to work.

I think every tube line in london
+Claw Raich Londonist does it in 1 day
Thomas Cartwright done it in 1sec
Thats pretty easy tho
Done it myself. And almost every bus in London just missed out on around 19 and some of those only run 4-5 times a day
She laughed when she said she liked going the whole way 😃
149 to London Bridge lol 😂 that's my favourite bus
29 to London Bridge. I don't really like the new 149 bus lol.
309 to Canning Town is m favorite route. So is the 108 to Stratford International. They are my local routes.
I have been on the 149 so many times :D Mostly the stop outside of Seven Sister Station to the stop near the Lidl close to Angel Road Station
411 is mine. Kingston to West Molesey.
149 from London Bridge to Dalston- too easy to hop on the back and avoid tapping in- using tourists for cover

So next time I go on a London Bus I will say, Geoff went on this route!
Love the buses here
Riding all the buses, ALL OF THEM!

What an inspiration. Three can be an awkward number in the group, especially as bus seats come in twos, i wonder how that was managed.

Ooh! Just like me with hastings!

I reckon Geoff and a surprise partner of his should do all the stations in the country.
I love the busses in London, but i have not been there for at least 10 years.
sounds cool
I did this too! Took me six months!
You can go on the 681's aswell, it's aligned with the 281's
There's not really any point as you can walk to teddington school
all the buses... all of them
I might do that with my 60+’Oyster Card.
And are there bus interchanges where buses terminate.Singapore buses terminate at bus interchanges and sometimes terminals
Perhaps you do it again. If you can do a challenge on riding on every single bus route around Greater London.
That is so cute!
They just began round 2 last month, doing all the routes again but trying to ride them the other way.
They sould re do route 8 because new Routemasters are so nice when they go so fast
They should do all the stations - all of them.
0:55 the red wooden building is belongs to the National Theatre
Good for them. I'll bet the leader was a teacher. I hope they do a blog on the museums of London. Please let us know so we can follow. Thank you.
All the buses??
I want to do this and film it too. Make timelapses as well as full route real time videos
Such a great idea! What is their blog, do they have an instagram?

all the busses??
'as the 600 buses are school buses' The 607, a limited stop bus, looking at them
Did they ever do the 240 or 113
Yes they did check the blog website
The 607 isn't a school bus, it's a combination of the 207 and 427 into an express route
I wonder if they did the 140 from Harrow Weald to Heathrow Airport
