What you said has some good logic to it but you’re overlooking certain traits Tim has that are detrimental to him as a boxer. Firstly, it’s difficult for any boxer to recover from the beating he just absorbed. With your own eyes you saw him pat his scalp after the first good shot he took thinking it would start bleeding which meant he’s still thinking and fearing his blood loss in his last fight. Secondly, Tim can’t fight going backwards! He plods in straight forward with his head on the line absorbing punishment to get at his opponent. Koysta Tszyu had a great defensive style and would only exchange when he had his opponent hurt always moving his head side to side. Tim’s a nice guy but needs to develop his defensive style and his mindset of strictly overpowering his opponent (like he did last night) walking straight into the line of fire hoping to catch the other guy doing nothing to evade punches. I tried to be his fan but I knew this day was coming after watching him fight broken down fighters like Tony Harrison and him not realizing what real competitors he was about to face!

1st True loss, and man was it bad. Lad was too aggressive too early, no head movement, no jabs, only strategy was relying on power. Focus on the opponent in front of you only, work on your defense, get a better corner and maybe you can get closer to being better that your dad. Opponent was way too good, and he deserves the fights that Tszyu initially wanted. Heal, recoup, take time off, you can be champion again. Respect all opponents, dont look ahead, work on your defense Tim and you can still shake up the division. How good is boxing atm👊😎
I still don't think Tim actually lost to Fundora but this one is the first legitimately loss. That was devastating. Tim needs to take long layoff and recover both physically and mentally, work the defensive skill. People say he's done but he's still young and have so much time to improve. Wish him all the best🙏🙏🙏
2:30 Wow. Good point. And I can only imagine how much better, stronger, and more confident Murtazaliev felt in the ring this time in-comparison to the previous fight when he was deprived of food. 2:55 This is a heart-breaker. You wish that he had made these big moves earlier in his career when he was having so much success. To be actively in preparation to make these huge life-changing moves near or in-between two very big devastating losses is heartbreaking. 💔
Yes, but it's more than talent. He appears to be another of those rare fighters that have a fortified determination to get the job done no matter what he's hit with.
Tim fought the completely wrong fight. Insane that he didn’t try to adjust or switch it up, instead even when he was hurt he just kept trying to hit murtazaliev. Credit to Murta guy did his thing !
EXACTLY RIGHT. I don’t know who was preparing Tsyzu for Murtazaliev, but they sure didn’t have the right strategy or have a plan B. Who would advise an elite fighter to stand toe to toe with a bigger man who can bang as hard as you, and can take a hard shot,,, and the guy isn’t as good a boxer as Tsyzu ? Obvious there was a strategic error and whatever other problems in Tsyzu preparation . Time for a change of trainers or career.
Yea, I watched the whole fight. It was like, after that first big blow, where he thought he was cut, I really think he underestimated how hard his opponent could hit. He looked startled and looked like his whole game plan went out the window. He tried to just knock the dude out with wild rights. He never settled and never got into the fight. I think he needed to grind. The use of footwork was nowhere to be seen. As you said, he created no angles and just stood and traded with the dude. The dude beat him at that! Having said that, Murtazaliev fought a great fight, and just outpunched Tszyu. A shame. I loved watching Tim rise. But every fighter knows, that eventually you lose. It's how you react to that. The great regroup and the not so greats fade away forever. Time will tell which category Tim is in. I am an Aussie too btw!
I was there. The whole crowd although surprisingly and disappointingly small, was stunned. Tim was arrogant and underestimated Bakhram. I didn’t know much about him before but I’m a fan of his now. Definitely gonna follow him. I would love to see him fight Charlo or Bud next. As for Tim, he’s got to seriously consider if he still wants to continue fighting after last night. He was humiliated.
This video covered a lot of it,well done. My thoughts. - He needs a new trainer, him and Nakita have really poor defence and ring discipline. - He needs to leave No Limit. They keep encouraging this looking to far forward thing. His corner didn't stop the Fundora fight because of future fights, and this one came to soon, rather than a tuneup first. - No Limit is a joke, always ripping off Aussie fans. Now that Tim could be old news, Nakita possibly a hype job, and Goodman about to have his head knocked off, we can hopefully see an end to the Rose No Limit con job. - The Kostya thing was a distraction and turned things into a bit of a circus, for this I blame No Limit (again) and Jennings. - I think he does have some sort of PTSD from the Funfora fight. That checking the forehead so early was really weird.
You're right about him not moving and fighting like crap in general, I think that first knockdown had a massive effect, he was glossy eyed from then on. I don't think he had a choice on how to fight from that point, it appeared to me his head never cleared.
I have a lot of respect for Tim. He gave it his all against a bigger, stronger opponent. There is always a faster gunslinger in the next town. How many critics would get in the ring as his second?
I feel bad for tsyzu, I like him as a fighter. He's classy and a warrior it was honestly hard to watch. Even more so, his father finally went to see him live for the first time and he got destroyed. The cut he from fundora and his dad being there definitely got in his head and he got exposed for no defense or head movement. Hope he recovers from this
The only question is how much psychological damage has this loss done to Tim Tszyu? He immediately paused and reached for his head to check for blood after a head clash. When the cut initially happened in the Fundora fight, Tim just kept on fighting. He lost that fight and many blamed the cut. So it was DEFINITELY on his mind in this fight and caused him to hesitate for a brief moment. This is only a setback for Tszyu. Tim is not done. Look at the Earl Spencer situation. He took a similar beating and was totally written off. Many called for his retirement! Now he’s fighting for the belt. He did lose back-to-back championship fights, but there aren’t many better than Tim Tszyu! He needs a big named fighter with a reputation next. Keith Thurmond is that name!
Sad for Tim but a good wake up call needs to move to the USA and train there need a new team to go to next level I think has great heart still has time to grow with more skill need to fight back home to get confidence back big puncher
this is a good lesson for Tim knowing that this was a definate loss for Tim against Bakhram, this is wisdom for Tim this loss is good for him, this lesson if learned will push Tim to overcome this type of loss overcome the ego and fear of the loss, learn from it and keep working move forward Tim, stay strong Bro
You are so right: Tim takes the tough fights. His body language after the Murtazaliev loss was that of a defeated and disgraced athlete but I fully expect him to rest up, heal up, and get back in the ring. Tim has too much talent and to quote G.H. Hardy: "If a man has any genuine talent he should be ready to make almost any sacrifice in order to cultivate it to the full." I hope Tim comes back from this.
Zero head movement - it was bizarre - just stood upright and swung like he was George Foreman: It sucks, but he needs to go right back to the drawing board
When he was standing there after each knock down you could look into those eyes which are windows to the soul. Well the shades were drawn, and the lights were off. After the fight, he was clueless and was lucky to remember his own name. He's on the slide. Next stop will be round 5 Zerafa.
Tim did not need his father there for the biggest fight of his life. He came this far without him. Kosta stole his thunder. Placed added pressure on him and he totally Lost Focus. Threw the spanner in the works with being there. Not the Tim we are used to seeing. Management should have had family reunion after the fight. Added pressure he did not need.
Im tired of this in Boxing, that I dont get in UFC. Let a guy really fall-off before saying its over. His previous loss wasnt terrible. He obviously has somewhat of a chin he wouldn't stop coming regardless of how how bad it was. He can still come back.
This is what I hate about boxing , a guy has a perfect record and loses twice and everyone says his career is over..if this was Muay Thai or mma those loses would mean nothing and he could build himself back up again. I just hate the way after a loss or two people just right you off, I know you can avenge losses and become champ like what DDD done or even Steve Collins in his early career . It just seems way harder
It's not just a loss, no one was saying that after his 1st loss, but how he lost he was belted into next week and will now drop under the top 5 in the rankings. Looks along way back to a world title shot but we will see
@@5cbridgey yes very true, but my point is (and I know it a completely different sport) but Charles Olivera in the ufc he got bet by basically “journeymen” of the ufc (miller, felder) and then only a year or so later faught for a title contender bout , won that, won the belt and ended up defending it a few times before loosing to the now P4P no.1 If that was boxing and you take those loses, I doubt you’d ever get the chance to fight for a title again , maybe a commonwealth or silver title but not a WC
@@user-yw8lr5xg5p yea that's a fair call. Plenty of champions have lost and come back. There's plenty names lining up in that division but, it's along way back to the top. Micheal zerafa will be licking his lips though, a fight with tszyu is his last big pay check
You can recover from a close loss like Dimitri. Tim got demolished and dropped multiple times. He got exposed. You hate boxing? When a guy gets thoroughly defeated, then yes it’s going to affect him and his career significantly. If he was such a great fighter then he wouldn’t get, so thoroughly dominated. Cry harder.
I really hate this trend in combat sports. Anytime a fighter loses a fight people treat them like their career is over. This is why a lot of fighters don't take fights and also why fighters run in fights.
No ..this fight fucked him up permanently. I had Tons of confidence in Tim, he let me down beyond words!!! This was so hard to watch...and I didn't buy the pay per view. You should challenge him Jimmy. You'll make the weight if you dont use too much garlic sauce. That head cut is his vulnerability so youll really just have to focus on opening that up.😂
Tim will be back; it may take some time but he'll be back. Tbh his defence has always been shithouse, frequently going in with his hands down. From now on, I don't think his defence will be shithouse and he will never underestimate another opponent.
I hadn't thought of Zeraffa yet, but you make a good point. It might bring back his confidence because I don't think he worries about that fight at all. He didn't look too comfortable today.
His the smaller fighter and stood infront of his opponent. His corner has a very bad game plan. His camp should prepared him to concentrate with speed and foot work going in and out. Its insane to plan head to head to a bigger man. Weird game plan.
Ever had a bad night's sleep and then had a crap day at work? Just weren't on your game that day? Or, felt great, but failed anyway? It's not the end. Tim is a machine. He's nowhere near washed. He can bounce back easily.
It's definitely a total derailment. Bad for Aussie boxing too. Gonna take a few years to earn the credit back. Which means he can't really afford to lose again.
After the fight his trainers had him speak to the press for some minutes… he should have been shuttled to the hospital immediately..the only questions he should have been asked should have come from a doctor…
The Father got knocked out by a ex junkie after that he started fighting with his hands up. I believe Tim’s team is trying to push him up the ladder to quick , Start fighting in America your in the big league, maybe a new trainer , his got 3 good years left . Good luck for the future Tim .
I honestly think he just knows how to not act nervous pre interview but deep down he knew what he was up against. Because since the start he did have a look on his face. And I seen the fight live ring side. Idk it was an entertaining but it was demolishing.
Everybody got something going on in the background, Tim get passed it whatever it is. Full respect too bakhram for his win, but lets get a rematch, the best are forged from it

Tim looked completely out outclassed from the get go. The fight should have been stopped earlier than it was, after being knocked down twice in one round. What a mistake.
Tim it happens! That’s boxing got hit hard early in the second round and never recovered mentally or physically. Take a little time and come back as boxing needs true warriors. That’s what Tim is.
You learn more in defeats than wins. Although it may hurt him for some time, he will be back stronger… probably will take a few smaller fights before though
Time fought like he was still fight Fundora. No lateral movement. No levels. No weaving. No adjustment to his guard. His style demands he is stronger than his opponent - but Tim isn't getting any stronger.
I can see the Zerafa fight, but at 160 as a rebuild and an attempt to position Tim in the WBA middleweight rankings. I’m almost certain that for Tim, in order to explain his diminished punch resistance, his team will say that he’s been punishing himself to make 154 and he’ll feel more natural at 160, where old man Lara could really use one last big payday from a stadium fight in Australia and Tim can become a factor again. All Tim needs is Zerafa’s WBA Number 8 ranking at middleweight.
@@CloisterYT Yeah, remaining at 154 would be too long of a rebuild for Tszyu especially given that the biggest names in the division are nearing retirement. That would leave Tim with a bunch of really high risk, low reward guys like Madrimov and Murtazaliev. Middleweight at least has some very beatable champions with Lara and Adames, or could yield some easier vacant title fights if Janibek vacates.
I’ve sat and thought about this truly and deeply with both sides factors and interest in view Tyzu came into this fight and didn’t just have the world on his shoulders but no space for error due to preparation. After the Fundora loss he had no thoughts or looks to have a tune up fight and you can’t say Ortiz was a tune up as that was no where near an easy fight. He had no time to find a game-plan and feel for the bright lights. Coming into this and fighting Bakhram was no easy task he had a game plan and no pressure but to win. Tyzu isn’t done and out of the ranks idk why we are acting like he is. All we need to do is see him hungry and fight 3-4 fights and dominate.
I'VE BEEN HIS FATHER FAN WHEN HE WAS FIGHTING BACK IN THE YEARS HE WAS A GREAT FIGHTER AND LIKE TIM TSZYU BUT DAMMED HE TRULY GOT DESTROYED. LET'S SEE IF CRAWFORD DECIDES TO FIGHT MURTAZALIEV FOR HIS IBF TITLE IT WILL BE A WONDERFUL FIGHT "LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE" 😎💪🥊🥊
Look at the history of boxing and you will see a lot of Karma dished out in the ring. There’s a big difference between cockiness and positive attitude.
He showed up trying to walk the guy down and overwhelm him with the right hand and kept landing in to punches especially the left hook by a skilled boxer, I think because his dad was there he tried to get him out of there too quick
Tim was a super confident fighter, maybe a bit too much so...but I will be waiting to see Bakhram in the near future, I think Crawford needs to look out!
Similar to the Pacquiao Marquez 4 result and situation. It all comes down to how Tim reacts to things. How his confidence recovers. I think Bakhram might be a serious player at 154. We severely underestimated him up until now. I reckon Crawford is the only one with a serious chance.
Look at bakhrams face after 3 rounds, 2 hard men planting there front foot and banging. Best fight id seen all year, both real men. Good too see fight instead of a boxing match
Alright Aussies, all aboard the Opetaia train now! Anyways, it pains me to say this as I wanted Tim to win, but I think he got exposed pretty hard and I honestly don't see Tim coming back to high level after this. He was outboxed, outclassed and out-punched.
Tim wanted to make a statement. He disregarded his defence and tried to fight fire with fire. It was hard to watch
It was his first fight where he hit his opponent with his Sunday punches only to find he was still getting hit by more of his opponents Sunday punches.
He has no defence
So true. That’s his style and he got exposed

Fight should've been stopped in round 2. Hope Tim hasn't suffered long term damage.
How quickly Tim kept getting up to keep fighting after taking those devastating hits, we haven't seen the last of him.
Nor has his doctor
2:30 Wow. 💔
Also we need to talk about Murtazaliev, he made improvements, there’s shots he usually throws that showed sights of inexperience that he improved on.
In Bakman we might be seeing a special talent. Boy he has some power
Yes, but it's more than talent. He appears to be another of those rare fighters that have a fortified determination to get the job done no matter what he's hit with.
Or maybe he is just another guy and Tim is just an overrated hype job from Australia.
Bakram good 5hats all tim is a raw fighter technically average
Like all Russians, he grew up taking special vitamins.
Another GGG?
A humbling lesson for Tim & his team to make corrections for a potential bright future. Good luck
Very well said..👍😊
Tim needs to take the advice & go & train with Bakhram. NOW.
He'll be back!
And get destroyed again
Maybe he should train with Murtazaliev, who is Russian like his father, and is skilled enough to teach him a thing or two
I agree with you. Surely though he was just being careful cause he felt something rather than ptsd?
Exactly ,bro, sack all that crew, ask a decent trainer to coach defense,Freddy Roach would be perfect fit, away from the hipe
I don’t know if he can come back from such a devastating annihilation
You are so right: Tim takes the tough fights. His body language after the Murtazaliev loss was that of a defeated and disgraced athlete but I fully expect him to rest up, heal up, and get back in the ring. Tim has too much talent and to quote G.H. Hardy: "If a man has any genuine talent he should be ready to make almost any sacrifice in order to cultivate it to the full." I hope Tim comes back from this.
Zero head movement - it was bizarre - just stood upright and swung like he was George Foreman:
It sucks, but he needs to go right back to the drawing board
Tim is the Joyce of his division, takes punches to the face is his defence.
When he was standing there after each knock down you could look into those eyes which are windows to the soul.
Well the shades were drawn, and the lights were off.
After the fight, he was clueless and was lucky to remember his own name. He's on the slide. Next stop will be round 5 Zerafa.
He probably needed this... now we will see what he is made of.
Go watch UFC then. Boxing is for elite athletes and Tim isn’t.
It’s part of the entertainment of the sport: speculating as to the future.
Looks along way back to a world title shot but we will see
@@5cbridgey yes very true, but my point is (and I know it a completely different sport) but Charles Olivera in the ufc he got bet by basically “journeymen” of the ufc (miller, felder) and then only a year or so later faught for a title contender bout , won that, won the belt and ended up defending it a few times before loosing to the now P4P no.1
If that was boxing and you take those loses, I doubt you’d ever get the chance to fight for a title again , maybe a commonwealth or silver title but not a WC
He is 30 years old in a couple of weeks,it's over
@@user-yw8lr5xg5p yea that's a fair call.
No, there’s a lot more that went wrong besides the simple fact he lost.
No feet work from Tszyu looked flat footed was a sitting duck from his opponent's longer reach (KISS)
100%. I’m no boxing expert but the guy wasn’t moving 😂?
In that case, You better have a hell of a chin or direct knock out power
@@BDogs10 His father would of been better prepared
agreed. Old school & more will, hunger etc
How’s the look in the eyes after those knock downs, insane look, look of shock and fear, this fight took years of his life.
No ..this fight fucked him up permanently. I had Tons of confidence in Tim, he let me down beyond words!!! This was so hard to watch...and I didn't buy the pay per view. I would have been crazy mad if id actually bought it!!! Omg...what a Sad day in Boxing 🥊 I'm actually Sick 🤢!!!!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT EVEN HAPPENED???? THIS WAS (NOT) THE TIM I KNEW AND SEEN BOX!!!! WTF????? MAYBE HIS DAD SHOWING UP DID THIS??????😢😢😢😢
@@warrenwatts he needs his dad in his corner, not these dumb amateur Aussies, aus boxing is a joke, he got fraud checked.
@@warrenwattsyou are pathetic
It’s a happy day for bakram 😃
You should challenge him Jimmy.
You'll make the weight if you dont use too much garlic sauce.
That head cut is his vulnerability so youll really just have to focus on opening that up.😂
That dude tough
Left hook is 🔥 real talk
Tim will be back; it may take some time but he'll be back. Tbh his defence has always been shithouse, frequently going in with his hands down. From now on, I don't think his defence will be shithouse and he will never underestimate another opponent.
Yeah, he’ll be back all right… Face first on the canvas that is
Pretty much a spot on analysis!!
I'm at a crossroads with Tim tbh....
Is he a real fighter or a talented kid with good hands
There's a difference
So true- a baby deer in headlights the whole way through the bout
You're probably one of the fastest creators of all time
I’ll always do my best to keep y’all in the loop 👍
After the fight his trainers had him speak to the press for some minutes… he should have been shuttled to the hospital immediately..the only questions he should have been asked should have come from a doctor…
Its all about head movement no head movement and that's what happens
AND YES I AGREE HIS DAD BEING THERE WAS SO MUCH PRESSUER DAD SHOULD HAVE STAYED AWAY
Sons of successful boxers just never have the same capacity of their dads.
But sons of unsuccessful boxers have far more 😂
Except Mayweather
That goes for all sporting endeavours. Tim's hunger can not be that of a soviet boxer. Tim didn't have 280 amateur fights either.
The Father got knocked out by a ex junkie after that he started fighting with his hands up.
I believe Tim’s team is trying to push him up the ladder to quick ,
Start fighting in America your in the big league, maybe a new trainer , his got 3 good years left . Good luck for the future Tim .
Yea right their was Floyd mayweather junior,Roy Jones Junior
That was a tough watch but i think he will be back and win his next one like the true champ he is. Tims not done yet.
It was like tim didn't even turn up
The dude figured tim out, I said ages ago a left hook will be his cryptonite if they time it properly.
I honestly think he just knows how to not act nervous pre interview but deep down he knew what he was up against. Because since the start he did have a look on his face. And I seen the fight live ring side. Idk it was an entertaining but it was demolishing.
excellent analysis!!
If it wasn’t for Keith leaving, none of this would’ve happened😔
Everybody got something going on in the background, Tim get passed it whatever it is.
Full respect too bakhram for his win, but lets get a rematch, the best are forged from it
Tim just needs to get his head together , he’ll be fine imo
You only learn lessons from beat downs !!!!
He'll be back smarter and stronger!!!
were with you brother !!!
and just for the record lm a lifelong St Kilda supporter we know about beat downs !!!!!!!
get some air and paddle back out 👍🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Never underestimate your opponent. N lots of rest to recover.
Tim had a setback but he will be back
Tim looked completely out outclassed from the get go. The fight should have been stopped earlier than it was, after being knocked down twice in one round. What a mistake.
Tim just isn't as good as what his trainers have told him.
His style demands he is stronger than his opponent - but Tim isn't getting any stronger.
...and this guy called out an mocked Bud not long ago. LOL
Actually a great point, I was just thinking Zerafa at a catch weight. Yet a run at middleweight would be way easier than the talent packed 154
He faced defeat... the pressure is off his shoulder, now bounce back and be a better warrior.
people disrespecting bakrhram hard by saying he was a walk over.
tim may have been way to keen to just walk forward. but bakhram is a good fighter.
Is it bad for me to say he should take a year off to fully recover physically and mentally he took some hard shots hopefully he’s doing good
I’ve sat and thought about this truly and deeply with both sides factors and interest in view
Tyzu came into this fight and didn’t just have the world on his shoulders but no space for error due to preparation.
He needs to fight bohachuk to put some respect back on his name, imo. That ain't no easy task either
I wll say he brings the fight. Will always have eyes to watch him in that sense.
Look at the history of boxing and you will see a lot of Karma dished out in the ring. There’s a big difference between cockiness and positive attitude.
Thanks!
Thank you bro, massive legend!
He showed up trying to walk the guy down and overwhelm him with the right hand and kept landing in to punches especially the left hook by a skilled boxer, I think because his dad was there he tried to get him out of there too quick
Honestly just devastated
Tim was a super confident fighter, maybe a bit too much so...but I will be waiting to see Bakhram in the near future, I think Crawford needs to look out!
The problem was the gap between the two fighters.
Tim looked amature.
Similar to the Pacquiao Marquez 4 result and situation.
It all comes down to how Tim reacts to things. How his confidence recovers.
I think Bakhram might be a serious player at 154. We severely underestimated him up until now. I reckon Crawford is the only one with a serious chance.
It wasn’t a punch that made him look at his cut, it was a soft clash of heads
Look at bakhrams face after 3 rounds, 2 hard men planting there front foot and banging. Best fight id seen all year, both real men. Good too see fight instead of a boxing match
There is always someone better! Never underestimate your opponent. Tim and kambossa are twins.
You can’t underestimate this family- they are tough and determined- no doubt the head gash has played negatively on his mindset.
Alright Aussies, all aboard the Opetaia train now!
Anyways, it pains me to say this as I wanted Tim to win, but I think he got exposed pretty hard and I honestly don't see Tim coming back to high level after this. He was outboxed, outclassed and out-punched.
