There’s is a lot of Wisdom from Jeff, few opinions but mainly wisdom Tim checking for that cut in this fight tells me there were psychological setbacks that were never properly addressed from the fundora fight. A sports psychologist needs to be brought in that can begin to help Tim unravel any bad mental habits that are bought on in these moments. My wife is a psychologist that has been around the fight game most her life and when she seen the head clash and Tim briefly stopped she knew he was off from there on out and I thought the same thing many people did. I completely agree that Tim needs to change up his corner people...and Ive always said that Igor shouldn't be the trainer of either Tim or Nikita...not the right person to really make those boys great during their careers...Igor's training methods seem repetitive and mechanical with no real attempt at broadening their skillsets
It's not his team.. It's simple, once Tim stepped up in class, he began to lose. Tim has heart, but he is 5th, at best at 154. Especially if he is not fighting at home. He fought 3x in the US and lost twice. When he was on a high and the Aussies thought he was Rocky, he was fighting mainly at home against C class competition. He can still make some $$ bc of his style. Will he be champion again, I doubt it. 💯
Two things cant be untrue honestly, I do think its the job of the corner to present him with the right game plan and having his fighters prepared for A, B and C. Same with when fighters come into the corner dejected or low on confidence in a round they were supposed to win. In some fights you its crazy how valuable a good corner and how a bad corner can be to fighters... Regardless I do agree with you though definitely the hype from fighting top 50-20 and even domestic level fighters hasn't done him any good. I also think Bakhram is a very solid fighter who was probably unfairly overlooked by most Id say too
Who did he fight recently that’s c class competition ? Takeshi inoue ? He’s only lost once and that was to tszyu. Tony Harrison ? The only bloke besides canelo to beat charlo ? Carlos ocampo maybe ? he’s lost twice and has 35 wins he was close to the top of the division. Or are you referring to Mendoza the one who flat lined fundora. Make it make sense I don’t think any of Tim’s opponents over the last 4-5 years have been C class at all.
Wish his management would protect him from some of the hype leading into the fight. Tim should have had one focus only, not Crawford, Fundora, or any other name aside from Murtazaliev. Agree with Jeff, no need for domestic fights….counterproductive.
Do you mean management or training? His management has been pretty good; he got a world title shot after a loss. If you are talking about training, then I completely agree
I really hope Tim watches this. He is surrounded by barrackers, not specialist coaches. I completely agre with the great JF, it's time for a change. Tim has had his tyres pumped up by his team, and now it's cost him. Making statements before the fight about moving to Las Vegas, telling the press he was going to put Fundora's head into the second row of seats, calling Bakhram a stand aside fighter, it just goes on and on. STFU. I know that the people around Tim love him and have his best interests at heart, but they are not equipped at this level. Example, Tim kept putting his guard in front of his face, classic "don't get hit down the middle with straight shots", problem was, he was getting hooked behind that guard, where he needed his hands to come back to protect against that. Surely someone in his corner could have seen it; my boxing career is a piss in the ocean compared with Tim, and even I was having uneasy thoughts during the first round. Did they do any research at all on Bakhram? He's known for his left hook... yet it hit Tim multiple times as though it was a complete surprise. I don't think that Tim needs to throw his team in the garbage, but he needs someone with some nouse to be in his corner and watching him train. Look at Nikita, same thing. Tough as nails, aggressive, good reflexes. How many times does Shawn Porter need to point out that this southpaw keeps fading to his left against orthodox fighters and getting caught with a straight right hand? Are we waiting for Nikita to get his ass whooped before that change happens? Addit: Visit FMJunior and get some help. Take Bakhram up on his offer to train a bit together. Tim is talented enough to match any of these guys in the 154 but it's going to take a lot to make him believe again.
After a fight loss to Fundora due by and large to a very serious cut, there is no way Tim Tszyu should have been anywhere near such an important fight as the Murtazaliev encounter. The scheduling of a warm up bout would have been the sensible strategy to be sure he was sharp and mentally sound.
jeff’s comments about the fundora loss are so accurate. The fact that he could talk to the exact same experience 40 years prior is indicative of how he knows that a fighter needs to be managed IN THE FIGHT
Great to see the legend speak his mind, Tim would be wise to pay attention, though i don't and have never thought Tim could defeat elite competition, that doesn't mean he can't win a world title. Good to see Jeff looking healthy after his troubles earlier in the year, and also great to hear him speaking well at 60, which isn't always the case with ex-fighters, as we know.
He nailed it as far as Tim's strategy, I couldn't believe my eyes, he went straight in for the kill, standing straight up and down, no bend in his knees. Treated Murtazaliev like he's a bum. Such a silly mistake. Kostya was saying all week that Tim needs to take his time, be cautious early, download the data and wear his opponent down. I will say, actually, I think Kostya was an unwanted disruption for Tim, he shouldn't be saying anything to his opponent.
That’s exactly what Tim needs to hear! Tim beat Tim by not fighting his fight, he fought the media’s, his fans and his father’s, but most of all he fought the Hype fight! Now get back to basics and work to get back to the top.
100% Jeff is on the mark, A good question to put to Jeff would of been who he thinks Tim should have in his corner and who he should train with to sharpen his spear?
👋🏽 JAI & CHAT Always appreciate an honest take by our 🇦🇺 Legend Jeff Fenech. PRIDE & OVER CONFIDENCE side by side has been Tims downfall in his last 2 fights IMHO. That goes for the WHOLE team. Confidence is essential BUT don’t be OVER confident. Fight to your strengths (style) but Prepare for EVERY scenario as much as possible both offensively & defensively - corner also has to know when to play it safe. Fundora fight SHOULD’VE ended after 4th IF corner was smart enough to PLAY IT SAFE. Corner has to be able to not only guide the fighter to succeed but also take least amount of damage & how to survive if gets hurt. Train to survive before EVERY fight too so prepared if caught. DON’T BE OVER CONFIDENT✌🏽
I'm probably going to get smashed for my opinion, but it is just my opinion. The entire Tszyu camp is to blame, Promoters, the manager, and even his trainer were all doing interviews talking about buying homes in Vegas talking about the next opponents. Not giving Barkhram any credit, they fought they won that fight two weeks prior to the fight. Then, to top it, all of his old man flies in at the tenth hour. It was like a family reunion, and they were all holidays. Way way way to many distractions.
Yeah watching all the nothing content filler interviews and all the hype had me worried. And then he got his arse handed to him. A hard lesson in humility
@KinskyReggae1 Tim made fun of Fundoras eating habits and Barkhrams. With Barkhram, he went as far as calling him stupid. Hopefully, moving forward, he goes back to letting his hands do the talking.
I don’t feel bad for Tim. He was too cocky. Hopefully when he gets back, he concentrates on his opponent and shuts his mouth. I also thought Tim was absolutely stupid for going past 4th round with Fundora. Screw being a warrior!
At 29 year's old Tim should have the maturity to put his Dad being there out of his mind ...to add yo that his father's advice was slowly breaking down his opponent ...The team management should not have accepted a tittle fight as Tims first match up after his loss to Fundura a less known opponent to assess Tim's mental status recovery after the loss would have been a better option... the Tim that entered the ring in this fight was not the professional Tim Tszyu we know .. He's the one after the Bell rings that has to fight using the skills he has & as Jeff comments Tim is a master in the way he can sum up his opponent before he makes his move . In this fight Tim forgot to bring his skills to the fight & ultimately the person responsible for that is Tim ... Tim will come back I'm certain of it .. He will become a unified world champion but he first needs to control himself from seeing what he wants to achieve from doing the job he needs to go in the ring ... Tim is a world champion he just needs to find himself & blaming others for his mistakes isn't going to fix the problem.. Everything from here is up to To Tim.. harder training with one vision in mind WINNING. The money & everything else comes after that & not before...
Jeff speaks a lot of sense here. The cut from the previous fight definitely bothered Tim early in this fight and it seemed as if he went straight to knock out mode fearing this fight would also be impacted by a cut.
Yes Jeff is spot on that corner was shameful all I am heard them say to him between rounds was shouting WHAT ARE YOU DOING. That is not going to help anyone.
Jeff Fenech is 100% right about the Fundora fight and Tim's latest fight. Tim's corner cost him big $$ and his world title against Fundora. As for the latest fight, 50% of the time the fight is stopped after a beating like that in the second. I would be interested to know what the instructions from the corner where for the third round. It's obvious what they should have been but Tim's actions said otherwise.

That’s exactly what Tim needs to hear! Tim beat Tim by not fighting his fight, he fought the media’s, his fans and his father’s, but most of all he fought the Hype fight! Now get back to basics and work to get back to the top.
You keep doing what your doing, your going to get, what your getting
Jeff Fenech is spot on. He knows boxing..
TT should listen to Jeff's comments.
Agree completely....his team talked him up way too much....I much prefer the Humble Tszyu in his first undefeated fights
Amen to that Jeff!👌👏🙏
I hope Tim watches this
Spot on Jeff this why you are the best boxing analyst in the country
Good on you, Jeff.
Words of wisdom Jeff is a champion 💪
good on you Jeff ,you the champ .
100% Jeff is on the mark, A good question to put to Jeff would of been who he thinks Tim should have in his corner and who he should train with to sharpen his spear?
Well Said Jeff 💯
Thanks Jeff we still love you
I used to wear your brand of gloves during training
Hope your well jeff fenech, Australian national treasure, luv ya mate❤.
💯💯 Jeff knows best!!
teddy atlas or freddie roach would be good trainers for tim .
Spot on
👋🏽 JAI & CHAT
Always appreciate an honest take by our 🇦🇺 Legend Jeff Fenech.
Best fighter aus has seen u jeff luv u so listen tim
Obviously being the champion he was Jeff really makes sense
Jeff is 100 % right...uncle Igor has gotta go , even go knocking on the Sheiks door ,plus how bout hitting Fundora up for that agreed rematch?
Jeff was spot on. Tim's corner completely let him down.
I agree with everything Kenny Callander said!
Not often I agree on everything Jeff says but I'm feeling everything he said
I really miss the days of watching your fights Jeff. No wonder Emanuel steward loved you so much.
Nice one Jeff 👍🤙
He's spot on.
Exactly my thoughts
Totally agree,
I'm probably going to get smashed for my opinion, but it is just my opinion.
Smashed for what, telling it how it is? They had also signed his next fight which was against Lubin
Crazy
Yeah watching all the nothing content filler interviews and all the hype had me worried. And then he got his arse handed to him. A hard lesson in humility
@jasonmcintosh3448 Yep, they looked straight past this dude.
That ending was classic. 😂. I love Oscar de la Hoya clap back Thursday also
Jeff you hit the nail on the head,if Tim wants to continue in this game he has to get rid of everyone and start fresh
So true. Tim's corner are costing him money, rankings and possibly health
Legend Jeff 👍
Jeffery spoke the truth. Respect to the Jeffery on his perspective
Jeff speaks a lot of sense here. The cut from the previous fight definitely bothered Tim early in this fight and it seemed as if he went straight to knock out mode fearing this fight would also be impacted by a cut.
100% jeff your right as you know that team needs to go wish you were there trainer as it would be great all round
EXACTLY!
100% agree. Amateur hour in the Tszyu corner at the moment
Jeff right on the money here
Kostya told Tim to be smart and go slow break him down over the rounds, after the little head knock he lost the plot
Every single thing Jeff says is 100% fucxxx true
Yes Jeff is spot on that corner was shameful all I am heard them say to him between rounds was shouting WHAT ARE YOU DOING. That is not going to help anyone.
Jeff Fenech is 100% right about the Fundora fight and Tim's latest fight. Tim's corner cost him big $$ and his world title against Fundora. As for the latest fight, 50% of the time the fight is stopped after a beating like that in the second. I would be interested to know what the instructions from the corner where for the third round. It's obvious what they should have been but Tim's actions said otherwise.
