Muscle Car Of The Week Video Episode #160: 1965 Ford Galaxie 500R Code 427 V8TV

Some Ford Galaxies were meant to be family cars... you know, smooth riding, quiet, fairly efficient utility cars indented to get the family from "A" to "B" with minimal fuss and in comfort. This one, however, is a little different. It's still a pretty comfortable ride, but thanks to it's no-frills package and dual-quad 427 and 4-speed driveline, you get to "B" much faster! From The Brothers Collection.

Tears of pure joy from 05:31-05:40. I love the big brutes you guys exhibit as much the mid size and smaller cars. Honestly, I'm pretty damn tired of Mustangs and Camaros. Let's see The Bro's pick up an SS 427 Impala or Sport Fury GT. Even the under appreciated cars like a '68-69 Torino GT or '69 Cobra, maybe a AMC Rebel Machine. Even starting to highlight non-muscle classics would be cool at some point. "Muscle Cars & More" Let's face it, it would be cool to check out beautiful examples of ANY car from that great period in American automobiles. 1974 AMC Matador X coupe anyone???

Mechan Knuckle Buddy of mine owned a Matador in 76. Cruised Northern Ontario sideroads many times in that kitten.

One of my favorites so far. Spoilers and stripes are cool and all, but a plain jane that could be a straight six doing a block long burnout is where it's at!

What a wonderful piece of history! I love this body style although I am partial to the LTD with all the options and a fast 390. I wonder if you could even get the 427 in an LTD. IIRC, the 428 didn't happen until '66. This color is beautiful. I also remember Ford had vinyl interiors from '59 to the late '60s the would almost last forever. Really tough. Their weaved plastic cloth wasn't too bad as well.

I look forward to MCOTW every Friday. Thank you so much for keeping the Friday's enjoyable after a long week. At 16, Dad bequeathed his '67 Galaxie XL, detuned with a 351M, but that was fine. That Yellow-Gold paint and awesome black interiors, the way the doors shut, the chrome trim around the door window glass...all spelt quality. Ok, when's that Gold Yenko coming up? Aztec Bronze is my favorite, but Gold is my muse! Thanks so much for all the hard work, Rick...

Like you say, i dig does nice cars too, but at the age of 52, i sometimes regret the fact that I was born a little too late. Boy! I sure miss the era of the 1960’s muscle cars. I don’t care much about today’s cars on the market. I’ve only got eyes for Mercury Cougars, Ford Mustangs, LTD, Fairlanes, Lincoln, Galaxies and Thunderbirds. On the other hand, I like certain Mopar products and General Motors as well. Anything from the 1960’s, I’ll take it. Lol! Thanks for this download. Johnny, Montréal, Québec
