    Reminds me of scuba diving gloves AL ..... which may be a better choice (just thinking out loud here). It looked like the "sharkskin" on the palm was already starting to separate from the glove @ 04:31, but that spot (between thumb and forefinger) would be a major area likely to wear first anyway ..... YMMV! Thanks for this vid AL ..... sometimes it takes someone to broach a subject in order to get people thinking ..... you never know where it will lead. Have a nice day AL, Gina & Olivia.

    I will add I still have my nylon glove liners over 20 years old, I still have my scuba diving gloves ( thick Neoprene Gloves ) I wore when diving the great lakes ( 34- 35 deg year round at 120 feet ) And used thin Neoprene Gloves while kayaking year round. The right combo of comfort , dryness and warmth is real personal but worth the time to find what works. :) Great video topic and demo Al. Next maybe vapor barrier liner video to keep feet warm and dry inside of boots all day ?

    My oldest nephew is an carpenter and winter ice fisherman in Alaska ( been there 12 years now) he uses thermal gloves inside of thick rubber forearm length gloves. When the fish are running and haul in time, they have 16 - 18 hour days , freezing , wet and cold up there . He sent me pictures of his start of each day. 4-5 hours with a 5 lb hammer to clear off all the ice from deck . rails , gear BEFORE the other crew arrive to start laying out lines and fishing gear . May days 30 - 50 below zero . Not for me but he enjoys the income and other 3 seasons best.

    I recognized these gloves as my husband has these. He said they wear out quickly if you use them for handling wood or "rugged" duties. When wet, they stick to bare metal. However he bought three pairs as they were $5 each at Walmart on sale or clearance--and that was Canadian!

    Just moved to Nebraska, working on starting our own homestead and enjoyed your review on these gloves (especially since I am a Florida and Las Vegas girl and used to the heat). • @chuckr8683

    Amazon and many of its sellers use dynamic pricing. The price will fluctuate on the demand of the product. Because some of your viewers clicked on your link the price adjusted upwards as demand went up. It also uses personalized pricing so the price offered to you Al may never be offered to another customer. You were tracked and since you bought one pair of the gloves the seller’s dynamic pricing program tried to entice you into buying another pair. Tricky tricky. Oftentimes putting a low demand item in your cart for a few days will trigger a lower price to entice you to buy.

    • @straubdavid9
      @straubdavid9 5 років тому +1

      "Oftentimes putting a low demand item in your cart for a few days will trigger a lower price to entice you to buy."
      Hmmm ..... that's interesting ...... thanks. Will need to check that out. Seems like I'm only on Amazon when I need something in a hurry, but I do see that my "Honey app" indicates that there's been some prices changes on many occasions, and will tell me if I'm getting the best price.

    • @chuckr8683
      @chuckr8683 5 років тому +3

      David Straub EBay sellers will often drop the price if its in your watch list. I always “watch” “buy it now” items for a few days. The price often drops to entice.

    Waterproof and keep the hands warm gloves doesn't exit, I ride motorcycles since 1984 and I tried a lot a lot a lot of gloves, my experience is some gloves are waterproof but for a short period of time, the action and movement of your fingers stretch the stitches and joins letting the water to leak in, even In the more waterproof gloves eventually it going to happen once your fingers are wet you are done, is a matter of few minutes in 30 degrees for freeze your fingers. Cold resistance is rated in time, this time is different depends of the quality of the gloves, skiing or riding for a long period is a matter of time until the gloves get cold and the cold penetrate to your hands. Heated gloves are great keeping you hands warm but they dont going to be waterproof forever for the reason I explained before also the downside is they need batteries or a power source. Now for short periods of time is many options and they works.

    Great demonstration! Very thorough. I've been looking for tighter-fitting gloves that could be used for handling items and still look good (as opposed to leather gloves that look nice but wouldn't be durable). They'll be more than sufficient for city living.

    Excellent review of a new product, Al. It seems they are excellent at keeping your hands and fingers warm and flexible to get chores done in the cold. Sadly it also showed that the gloves leak in the seams and aren't waterproof.
    Fleece repels water and your gloves had water in them so it probably leaked inside between the neoprene and fleece, not the side you were touching. Fleece is often used in baby diapers for this reason, as it keeps the baby's bottom dry even when the diaper is wet.
    If the gloves were really waterproof, you wouldn't have been able to wring out water from them. You would have been able to shake a few drops off, but being able to wring it out show it took on water inside the glove.

    I thought you got the cuff of your right hand under water...but I guess not.

    Thank You very much for the review!. I was wondering if you plan on having a Canadian affiliate Amazon?.

    Might be good to have something like that in case you needed to repair a water leak.

    I may have to check into these gloves. When I am using the snowblower, my hands are always getting wet and cold. Leather gloves don't work well for me. The gorilla type gloves get soaked in no time.
    Thanks for taking the time to put this together,
    Blessings,
