- So this is the end of support for Battlefield 2042, With just the usual mid season stuff still to come. Its been a crazy adventure for myself on a personal level and as a creator. I've had so many great times which thankfully out number the bad one's. I've had the pleasure of building a crazy awesome community which i'm most proud of. What ever DICE and the other studio's do next with the franchice, i hope they've learned from mistakes made with bf2042. Today we'll talk over them. And lastly i address the entire Battlefield community, We can become the best in the world again (I'm sure)

I always played the campaign to get into the story, granted, the campaigns varied in quality... but I always felt getting immersed in the story was important to fully enjoying the multi-player. DICE should never have strayed from the formula.

Thanks for the content Squid. I stopped playing the game for a while there and went back to BFV. Then I started watching your videos on UA-cam, and seeing how fun those videos were to watch, I started playing it again and although it can be a frustrating game at times, I think they left it the best they could. I did support all the battlefields in the last 10-12 years.. more than 2k hours play time in Bf4, 2k+ bf1 , 1k+ hardline , 5k+ BFV , 3k+ BF2042 and S800.. so BF is part of my life in the last almost half of my life.. don;t want to see it going away..

Thanks for all your input Squid I kinda left battlefield when things changed up in later releases. Im not the greatest but love to have fun which I did with my late brother who actually bought me the first BF so I could play online with him, after he passed away I just did not find it fun in the way we played and after all these years from 2016 I came across your channel and purchased the 2042 on disc after seeing all your funny clips in gameplay. BF needs to find back its identity and Roots which separated it from the competition.
Well said, Squid! I for one truly enjoyed 2042 and I’m bummed that there will no longer be new content. As a big fan of battlefield for many years now, these last three titles have had some disappointments, but the overall play and sandbox mayhem that we all truly enjoy, has always been there, and I truly hope that the next one will at launch, bring an even better experience. Keep the videos coming, because this game will be played by me and many others in the community till the next title comes our way. Me and my teenage sons love watching your channel. We cannot afford a PS4 or 5 so this is the next best thing. Hopefully there will still be a multiplayer community on this game when we can 😂

I started to play Battlefield since forever, i even played the "predecessor" ..do you remember Return to Castle Wolfenstein ?? ( yeah im old ) ... that game oozed Battlefield vibes already in 2001 ... and then came Battlefield 1942 in 2002 and i was hooked for life

Love your videos. Watch them everyday. I actually watch your channel because of your positivity! Too many videos on UA-cam that are just negative and i dont need that for bf or in life in general. I actually really enjoyed bf2042 with the updates, actually more than bf5 tbh. For the next bf i would just love a bf3 like experience - current day, maps that balance infantry AND vehicles, a proper class system, destruction and sand box. I hope portal is brought to it too, that is just so good...

They owed a season 8, to all the long suffering players who kept playing in the hope of improvements and fixes. We paid good money for the game and it was getting better each season. All games come to an end but we were owed a season 8, a proper ending.

Give me the class system back, more destructible buildings and some kind of progression and were set. My biggest problem with 2042 is once you have attachments for guns you like there isnt much to work towards after that.

BF2042 was really my first BF game I decided to stick with and dedicate to. I've played other BF games, but they where played for quick and easy fun here and there.This one though, was the first one at launch, I decided I wanted to keep playing. I'm sad to see content coming to an end for the game, but I'm looking forward to future videos you make, and the future game.
I had a blast with 2042, completing every season, experiencing only in battlefield moments, and even getting the platinum!! I'll probably continue to play the game till the next games launch, and I think I'll dedicate myself to the next title too. People might say 2042 is the worst BF game. But it's for sure my favorite multiplayer pvp fps game!

Touché for sticking with this. Abandoned this a long time ago. After this and BF5, I will not be buying the next Battlefield unless it’s epic. I’ve been playing these since Bad Company 2 but no more.

The fortification building from BFV needs to be brought back into the series. It is the perfect companion for the destruction

I think the BF2042 behind the scene story is actually a great story that would have been a great campaign story with part of the campaign having the explosion for Exposure as part of the mission.

I would like the reload, gun switches and entering vehicles made faster. Battlefield has always looked better than cod hands down. But sometimes it feels stuck in the mudd and slower. Just my opinion. But i will always watch the Squidmaster! Love the content!
I really hope they do something cool with the campaign! Imagine if we got a new ‘chapter’ of the campaign every season?!?

I agree. It’s great that you can find fun in the games regardless of the state they’re in. I personally think whenever everybody collectively bitches about a game it’s just not what they as a collective group want but life isn’t fair. We don’t always get what we want. The best advice out of all of this that every gamer should take is enjoy what you have if you don’t move on. Yes, the developers should do their best to release a full game but with how many different studios have taken control of battlefield or other series throughout the years, it’s basically like restarting off of a formula that you’re not familiar with. I’m surprised they’re able to get the games out semi working.

I'm grateful to DICE for at least polishing 2042 into a playable and fun experience. The toxicity over this game has been disgusting, and I think most of the extreme toxic players and commenters should take a look at their behaviour as It's not healthy (for them or anyone else).
Regarding the future, personally I think they need to drop the 128 player element as it essentially forced the developers to lower the graphic quality and remove a lot of the much needed destruction. It was a very brave decision, but it simply added nothing to the experience.
As a cod zombies fan, I do love my story content in games, and it wasn't until you mentioned it there that I realised how much I've missed a proper campaign and story in 2042, like yea there's the intel and what not to read but that does fuck all to a story for me, you gotta have a mix of gameplay, cut scenes, intel, radios, etc. for the story, cause to me I've had little to no interest in the story, bar when they did the robots arc. Like I didn't even realise they were fighting for water until you mentioned it in your stream the othed day Squid 🤦♂️
The disparity between trailers and actual game could be that they show what the devs want and have passion for without EA pushing hot takes. It gets the board excited but during development the board side of the publisher starts demanding paths not in the direction the game originally was being made.
Great comments about the toxicity against developers, and not being a hater just for the content.

I have 3,500+ hours for the Legacy Battlefields (BF4, V, 1, and Hardline). I am coming up on 2,500 hours on 2042. 2042 (at this point) is my favorite Battlefield by far. You (like CadWoman) stuck with 2042 through thick and thin. You 2 are AWESOME! You 2 had the balls to stick it through when things were tough. You are the BEST SQUID G! Keep playing 2042, I sure will!

Being honest as a final update we should have all portal weapons in the main experience because portal is pretty much dead
its hard to imagine a world where i give it a chance if its got wing suits and grappling hooks and all that stupid stuff.

For me, Battlefield 4 was the pinnacle of the gameplay experience. Engaging campaign, map packs dropping all the time, immersive gameplay, 5-man squads, it had it all. Even the handling of the vehicles felt better in BF4, in 2042 they're either clunky or way too squirrelly. That said, whatever Dice & EA offer up next, I will NOT be pre-ordering, they fooled me once. Until I see that the next game is winning industry awards (like BF4 did) I'm not buying anything.
Ironically battlefield 4 was just as bad on launch. It really only got good 1 year after they ironed all the kinks..... just saying... in fact the only launches I remember going well was 1942, bf2 (loved this game, bf3 and bf 1. I would say bf4 was notorious for how bad it was at launch and as you said it got a whole lot better with time...

Those are facts, BF4 was very buggy at launch, DLCs were late and people were crying about that. It wasn't until the second DLC season that it played optimally.
@@kakamesh True, but the framework of the game was there, it was the technical difficulty in rolling it out. But BF4 never had to rework a map, nor was it missing standard features (scoreboard?) on launch. So yeah, buggy, is a bummer, but once the kinks were ironed out, turned out to be an iconic game. 2042 is literally disrespectful to the fans, player base, people buying the game, and company shareholders. Biggest POS bait and switch I've ever seen in my life. I will never pre-order another Battlefield game, and unless the next installment receives glowing reviews across the board, I'm done with the franchise.

I've played BF games since 1942 (that's the first game, not the actual year 🤔) and... I don't hate 2042. I find it quite an enjoyable game on the whole, but it doesn't quite have that classic Battlefield "feel". I guess some of the gadgets are just a bit too futuristic. That said, I used to love 2142, so what the hell am I talking about? 😅

The decision to end 2042's life is the right decision, the next game can't in anyway fail and if 2042 being supported for longer has even the smallest affect on the next game its too much. All of DICE and the extra teams working on it they now all have the best part of 18 months to focus on the next game that will already be in development. Lets hope its a banger. 🙏

Isonzo maps are sick layouts & lanes but you don't have to use the lanes but it's clear just bought it because I seen mountain climbing fighting & never realized how well the maps are, wash battlefields map where like this especially battlefield 1s preplaces buildables guhhh but this that game Isonzo feels like how battlefield should have went but with vehicles
I honestly think that this is a prime example of what not to do in a battlefield game and I am hopeful that they can only get better and learn from this. Battlefield 2042 is a beautiful game but the launch was bad and there are still a lot of stuff missing.

I miss the training map where you can learn to fly the choppers and jets which you can’t do.

I created a really simple helicopter training mode in Portal. Me on one side, start with say 5 AI on the other. Give them a range of vehicles (1 jet, 1 nighthawk, couple of jeeps) and you're done. As you get better, give the AI more options (infantry with recoiless m5), attack helis etc). It's made my heli skills 100% better.
I don't worry about the seasons I enjoy the game

it's funny sqiddy boi,broken had a similar vid a couple days ago and i will say the same thing here as i did there....just make more maps,guns,whatever for BF1 & BF5...those games alone drew in so many new players and they are still awesome games...i don't see anything wrong with updating older games if they are still played...GTA do it without problems...and in the mean time take the time to create a bug free awesome new game ...oh and please get in touch with broken and create some content with him on those games if you dont mind mate
