Average height for a hi jumper is 6'4". Some smaller guys have had success, but it's very rare.

Even as someone who knows nothing about gymnastics I can appreciate the technique and raw power these incredible athletes display. Is the floor a springfloor or is it bouncer than that?

Yeah it's a rod floor which is bouncier than a spring floor.

It is a rod floor which is a floor with metal scaffolding which then has fibre glass rods over it. 2-3 mats are then placed over it.
