Really interesting (and instructive) to hear you analyze the melody against the chords.

You weren't Rick Beato-ing your way through any album made after 1989 if you found something to enjoy about it. Your openness to new music is a breath of fresh air, and your exploration of pop from the perspective of an experimental musician is exactly why I enjoy your videos so much. Thank you!

I'm on the same page with ya. I love seeing previous generations give new music a chance. I can agree, not all of it's great, but that's been music since the start of capitalism trying to get it's hands on the hard work and fun of musicians. I'd say the real bread and butter of Gen Z is Indie, Electronica, R&B and Dance music genres. Underground rap is way more experimental and vibrant than the rap on the charts but I personally don't mind some Drill or Jersey Club Rap(I go to alot of parties so I don't mind it lol) Rick Beato seems like a smart guy, but as a Gen Z, I just don't his automatic disapproval of modern music without giving it a chance. My generation is way more musically adept then Billboard lets on and I wish previous generations would give a grace and curiosity with current musical trends. Also this channel has taught me ALOT musically with modern examples, so grateful for him

Whenever I hear a D major seventh I immediately think of Charles Manson's Look At Your Game Girl and its performative tenderness.
