I'm tired currently, so no clue if it's gonna get placed right, but I don't really care, so here we go. Sit back, grab a chair, maybe some food, and read. This is gonna be a fun one. The man watched ahead, as the sun fell from the sky, descending to the sea below. Traffic on the left lane was busy. But the right seemed... somewhat clear. Granted, it was San Francisco. Spring, too. No one's here for spring usually unless they're rich or crazy. It's always the summer lot. But he was headed home. He didn't care what was ahead. So, as he continued down the beachside street, he began wondering what the future would be like. He completely forgot about his passenger. "Dad. Can we just get home already? These detours are starting to piss me off." "Huh? Oh, yeah. We haven't taken any detours since the Wendy's a while back, though. This is just the longer route. Less traffic." He sighed. And it seemed his son did the same. His out of exhaustion yet enjoyment of the drive, the other of exhaustion and frustration. The man had a brilliant realization. "Hey. How about I put on some music? I still have that old disc! Man, you used to love these songs." "Please don't..." He rushed to get the disc in the music player, almost dropping it in the process. When the first song started playing it was almost as if the boy was going to die of embarrassment. "Come on! I know you remember this! C'mon, sing it with me! 'Cast off the crutch that kills the pain, the red flag waving never meant the same' come on! 'The kids of tomorrow don't need today, when they're left in the sins of yesterday!'" The boy was slinking as far as he could in the seat, even with the seatbelt on. Then, he began laughing a bit... then more.. then he was in almost uncontrollable laughter. "You... your singing is awful!" The man grinned. When they finally arrived, it wasn't the mans home. It was the boys. They exited the car, as the boy finally had to leave. Before he walked to the building, he stopped and hugged his father one last time, before heading to his college dorm. The man, holding back tears, smiled. Finally, he left, and never took the disc out. The man watched ahead, as the starry sky held itself above him. Traffic was empty. And so seemed to be a place in the man, now that his son was no longer a boy. He's filled with pride, because his son made it. This was his future. And he wholeheartedly accepted it.

There is so much I can say for this song. I listened to it a lot alongside a few others between late August to early November of last year. Words cannot describe just how it was I felt, and just how overwhelming so many of the feelings I felt ended up being. I didn't really have many people I could really come to for help, as the few friends I thought I had proved to not be true friends, and left me. I can credit only a couple select individuals for truly helping me and being there for me when I needed it the most, but one of the other things that proved to be helpful at times, even if only a little bit, was music. It often helped to listen to a handful of select songs when I was alone, and it helped get a lot of my own emotions out, mainly through simply crying. I seemingly lost the ability to even do that towards the end of December for reasons I don't even know myself, but things at least improved some, thanks to someone really meaningful to me. Thank you, A.L.I.S.O.N, for some of these songs you've made- they helped make a difference, and at least give even the slightest sense of solace.
