Yea most people just show "the neat section" of their house. I know when our hot water tank stopped working, we were just pushing stuff out of the way and covering stuff up before the workers got there. LOL. It's the basement, but we were still like, "hide the mess!"

Jackson is so full of energy at the moment he can't be bothered to answer questions. He just needs to move around and PLAY! And DO STUFF! Tim, if you haven't started singing "Head and Shoulders Knees and Toes" to him yet, it was a reliably big hit with my nephews. It's especially funny (for them) when you do it faster and faster until its ridiculous and then act all tired.

We give the kids at daycare a blanket as soon as they are able to move it off of them or move about in the cribs usually around a year.
Also it would be wonderful for Jackson’s fine motor development if you started encouraging him to feed himself.

Thank you for being real. I loved the moment “don’t show the internet the hole in my socks” and the real life messy room.
As for the infant car seat donate it, now. Many places will not take care seats due to recalls, accidents, and safety concerns so you might have to ask or find a person in need. The car seats have an expiration date and if you have another baby you will want a new seat. The expiration dates aren’t that long on the seats.
You made me tear up letting us know you are thinking about another baby. Thanks for being real and sharing. Prayers and just know God is with you.

Instead, we are at home in the North East of England entertaining the little ones with a blue furred puppet that suffers at the hands of our sweet yet dominating 2yr old, and our youngest Ethan is about 4 months behind yours, so it's wonderful to watch him follow in Jacksons tiny footsteps! I am a mother of 4. The last two were twins. I have always said if I had it to do it again I would have had one. I loved the alone time I got with my first born. We spent so much time together learning about life and discovering new things. When I had my second child that stopped. My oldest didn't understand why suddenly I couldn't do the age appropriate things I did before. Everything was about the "baby" I could never give the baby the attention and care I gave the oldest. They were wonderful babies. They are and have been best friends. Then I had the twins and life was just crazy. Covid won't last forever. You will be going out more and more. I think having an only child would have been wonderful. Just my opinion. You are wonderful parents. Whatever your decision your child/children will be very lucky to have you.

We gave blankets at a year because that’s when they were allowed to have them at daycare. But we also coslept some so he was using our comforter at around 6 months.
He’s a very smart boy. I see you feed him most of the time when he’s on camera eating. Makes sense when you’re out but at home in the high a chair is this just to avoid a mess or do y’all ever just turn him loose? Turning them loose is messy but helps so much with fine motor skills.
Those Instagram put together people spend a lot of time looking that out together lol. I have a sign in my house that says “excuse the mess, my family lives here” and I think that’s a great message. My house isn’t dirty but it has toys throughout and looks lived in. You’re normal lol.
Ok I’m rambling but I’d love to see a 2nd tracker baby. Jackson will have so much fun with a sibling. It took us 4 years to get pregnant again after our first so mine are 4 1/2 years apart but they still play together well.

Most people dont realize that we only see what you guys wish us to see for privacy reasons and that not everything is glamorous. I was going to recommend maybe if you dont want to rent a storage container that you put in a small shed for the baby items you may use again but hearing about the Hoa that might not be feasible. When in doubt check the American Academy of Pediatrics for info! Blankets are not safe in a crib but are safe once baby is in a toddler bed. Also most cribs have a safe maximum height of 35” for babies so once Jackson is 35” tall he should be moved to a toddler bed (or even the crib mattress on the floor, as long as his room is safely childproofed!)

You could always invest in a shed for the back yard, if the HOA approves of it, to hold stuff you don't use often or are holding onto for a future baby and keep what you use often in the garage so the shelves aren't so heavy and everything can be organized

Disclaimer I don’t know if this is correct but our pediatrician gave us the okay: I gave my son a blanket when he learned how to rip it off his face. We would play peek a boo every night and teach him how. I would say about 12 months old we let him sleep with one small light baby blanket.

Tim, suggestion for the garage shelving I use with wire rack shelves. Get enough sections of 1X4 wood to span the length of the wall. Find the studs in the wall a secure the 1 x 4 to the studs at the height you want using wood screws long enough to go into the studs. Get some plastic straps to fasten the wire rack to the 1 x 4 as needed. I do about a foot on the straps. Position you down supports so they align to the studs and fasten with wood screws long enough to go in the stud. If you want to be fancy you can paint the 1 X 4s the same dark grey as the garage walls. It will hold what you need.

Real life! Nice knowing my house is not the only one!
I think it is great that you are trying for another baby. My older son shares Jackson’s birthday (just years earlier) and when he was 13 1/2 months old- exactly Jackson’s age right now- we decided that we would “start” trying. Our younger son was born 9 months later in October.

As an answer to your blanket question all 3 of my kids have had blankets since day one. We use only the breathable muslin until they’re able to take the blanket off their face efficiently (usually around 6ish months) and then from there we use a thin fuzzy blanket because we keep the house pretty cold at night time. None of them have ever liked swaddling.

I totally feel you! I had a daughter. Saved everything in case we had another. Got pregnant and had a boy. So now we have so much stuff and I don't even know how to handle it!

I just LOVE your videos! My son is 17 months old and he sleeps with a thin swaddle blanket every night and has since he was born and he has never had any issues. We went from swaddling him with it to a normal blanket at about 5 months and since 12 months he lays down puts his arms up and waits to get tucked in with it. The swaddle blankets we have are breathable and very thin which made me feel more comfortable! I also still have most of my sons baby items with the same thoughts that I may need it one day in the future lol my house looks the same as yours! Glad im not alone!

You guys could look up the concept of Hygge. It’s the Danish way to live well. The main idea of hygge decor is to create a peaceful, serene space that is free of clutter. But even with clutter, as long as your house feels peaceful and serene then you’re onto a good thing 🙂

We moved in to our house 10 years ago...had babies and all home improvements came to a screeching halt. I used to be really hard on myself about everything being a mess. Then made peace with it. The reason I couldn’t keep up was because I was being a mom and choosing to take care of my kids...go for the walk, take them to the pool, softball practice, to grandma’s, out to get ice creams cones. It’s the stuff of life and much more important than anything else. Starting my home projects up again now that they aren’t babies anymore, except now they can help! ❤️ to you all and thanks for sharing your lives with us.

A simple way to improve the strength of the garage shelves is to use suspension to support the front edge. Redo the wall anchors, then use lag bolts in the roof joists and some galvanized steel wire running to the top shelf and each next shelf. Wires on each end and in the middle would be fairly cheap, simple to install, and not too obstructive. Good luck with the projects!

My wife and I are kinda in the same boat as you guys when it comes to not being to overly organized and still doing things around the house. I built our house before my i met my wife and that was back in 2009, and as of current 2021 we still need to put a doorknob in one of the doors for the bathroom, seal our wood floors, put molding round the rest of the top wall and update the bathroom and laundry room, so you are not alone when it comes to home repairs/updates.
As for organizing, why be normal and do that? Being a little disorganized never hurt anybody ;-) and my wife remembers reading in one of her college articles for class that "messy, not organized people or desks/living spaces shows how smart/creative someone is ." She can't remember off hand who she is quoting but it is true.

It’s a zippadeezip wearable swaddle. They are great! They are meant to curb the “Moro” reflex (that little jerking thing babies do when falling asleep which of course wakes them up!) They sleep just fine in them! What may not be comfortable for adults is comforting and comfortable for babies!

We use muslin and crocheted blankets for our boys. The younger in got blankets around 6-9 months but they were crocheted with holes. He hated blanket sleepers. The older one is attached to his muslin blankets even still at 3 years old. He’s had them in bed with him since around a year old. There’s no safe way to have a blanket but try during nap to see how he does with one in there. My kids kick blankets off within the first 30 mins of sleeping and they always have them down by their feet.

`I agree. More home vlogs please!!!! Take one room at a time and organize, paint, arrange the room, and you will get there. No one's homes are perfect. I loved the way you all fixed up and did so much work on your first home. You can do that to this one too. I hope that you can have another baby. I think Jackson will be a great big brother. I would not get rid of any of the baby items. Especially since your going to try to have another child. Get organizing things to be able to store the baby items away until you need them.
