You should come to Las Cruces New Mexico. My astronomy club has a 16" telescope observatory in one campground North of the city at Leasburg Dam State Park in Bortle 4 skies. Also has a 14" telescope at City of Rocks S.P. North of Deming in Bortle two sky. I have limited access to a 24" telescope as well, but I cannot guarantee if I can bring a guest. I know a guy who knows _The_ guy, hence the limited access. One of the founders of the Astronomical Society of Las Cruces was none other than the astronomer who had his planet stolen from him by the nefarious co-conspirators of the *IAU who denigrated his humble planet of Pluto to dwarf status instead of full Planet. Yes, ole' Clyde Tombaugh was a founding member, the discoverer of Pluto and now we know it has a partner planet named Charon, pronounced (Oh No!) Karon. As in the head of an HOA.😋😛 *International Astronomical Union
Good to see you enjoying the trip, tiredness has weird but funny effects, in nature's hands with the weather..enjoy the experience
Wish you break into the cloud to observe this eclipse.
I say keep an eye on the clouds on zoom earth and be prepared to drive towards clear skies on Monday morning.
I just got off the phone with a family friend and she is in Dallas. Not super reliable weather as of yet but at least we have an option!
@@Bekindtoyourmind143 good luck!
Thank you! Downloaded the zoom
Earth app too! Thanks for the tip!
Good luck with the weather. No matter what it is going to be amazing. I traveled to a total eclipse once and it is worth it.
Good story. We still feel bad in cancelling our drive from Colorado Springs to Dallas for the eclipse. Wish you luck tomorrow.
