    Gardener in Minneapolis and, yes, it stays cold from December to February, but we get those fluctuations March-May (and Sept-Nov), just like more mild climates have in the winter months. 😊 I’ve broken many a pot by not taking precautions.

      I’ve had really good luck with using nursery pots to line my glazed pots and I keep soil in them all winter that way.

    What about plastic containers?

      Plastic containers usually hold up pretty well outdoors during the winter. And if one should crack or break, they're usually pretty inexpensive to replace.
