Dude, thank you for this review. You covered details about this board that no other reviewer bothered to. I've since ordered it and absolutely love it.
received one and I modded it by putting sound foam in the case and I lubed the switches carefully. I am pretty sure this competes with some high end custom keyboard. it feels and sounds incredibly premium. I highly recommend doing this it literally takes the product to a whole other level!!!!
Great video as always, dude. For those looking to buy this product right now, it may be worth your while knowing that I bought this and it was delivered to me today but sadly it came with the additional coloured keycaps not being shine-through. They are opaque, as per in the standard One2 Mini. Specifically, this is a UK ISO layout with Silent Red switches.
A quick thing: Zinc oxide isn't a metal, in the same sense that rust (iron oxide) or sapphire/ruby(aluminium oxide) aren't metals. It does have that metallic feel of being cold to the touch though, due to it being a good conductor of heat.
Brian is my favourite UA-cam for a multitude of reasons (like that amazing beard ) but mainly because I trust his opinions and non-biased reviews and those amazing aesthetics 👍keep it up
I have built 2 custom boards and also used desoldered and lubed browns on an Anne Pro 2 and not sure why the obsession with Ducky. Iv never owned one but when i watch reviews i just dont know what is so different about it to the Anne Pro... but that metal case does look fly af
found you by accident when looking for good mechanical keyboards... 2 weeks later, no keyboards purchased but i've literally watched all your keyboard and tech videos you're hilarious dude
Can't wait for Ducky Mecha SF with silent reds, but I hope they use a proper 68 keys layout with 1.75u shift and 1u ctrl so that the keyboard looks cleaner
I just bought this keyboard, I don’t regret it at all. I think I would recommend it to anyone. Even though it’s not hot swappable. There are plenty more ways to customize your keyboard. I want to get lubricant and just lube the switch’s without desoldering. So it works out in the end. I strongly agree with “I wish this keyboard was hotswappable” but I don’t think that should make you not buy this keyboard. It’s fantastic in every other section. The ducky one 2 mecha mini could go beyond where it is now if it was hotswappable. Fantastic job ducky😎👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Have had mine for a few days now, it might not be the cheapest mech keyboard I've had, but man am I glad with this one. It's very, very nice to use, feels solid and looks great! Macros take some getting used to and I still prefer software over this way of doing things, but it's very reliable. Very pleased with the upgrade!
New to mechanical keyboards just quick question i can't decide between Ducky one 2 mecha or the massdrop ATL. Price wise Ducky will cost me 141 euros while the ATL is 152. The issue for me not pulling the trigger on ATL is stabliser and double tap issue. Want to get the MX brown keys. Then other hand it would be great to have dedicated arrows key. Hot swappable is not a big deal for me. What key to me is build quality. Man it tough one decide between the two any advice.
I ended up buying alt with halo clears it ended up cheaper than the Ducky mecha. I release how much dedicated arrows keys are really important to me as I use them alot. Plus if I don't like the switches I can always swap them out later on. I never had the chance to test MX browns as the stores where I live only have keyboards with red switches.
Red dragon has really amazing build quality for the price though, i have the K552 and it’s an actual tank it has zero deck flex and a metal case and backplate
I bought this keyboard but I will receive it in the start of January. I was really hyped about it, untill I saw a comment on some review I can’t remeber which. But the person said he had a keyboard much alike and over the year it became rusty? So you guys think that would happen with the ducky?
I recently spilled a beverage into my mini and it stopped working. I have it upside down and slanted trying to get the liquid to fall out, but Ik not hopeful. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Or am I just screwed and have to get another keyboard?
Thanks for this great review. I'm currently using the poker3 and maped the arrow keys to wasd in combination with the caps lock as fn. Would such a remap work on the ducky?
1:26 cast aluminum is actually the cheapest and weakest method of forming aluminum, leading to an unnecessarily heavier product. They claim that they use a cast to get those shapes and angles but CNC milling can also do the same, just cost more but will result in a higher quality product. For reference, Apple's products are milled from a single block of aluminum while sports cars use forged aluminum wheels, not cast aluminum wheels.
if they had the sf pcb with the better lighting on the spacebar i would buy this right now. that is my only complaint with my one 2 mini. ill probably still buy it, but might wait a bit now. also may be worth noting for you, my one 2 mini also has that ridiculous side flex squeak. it doesnt bother me anymore though, i sort of use it as a fidget toy now when im bored on the pc lol. i consider it a bonus product at this point. would be another reason why i bought the mecha though
Can you chose what key caps you could get on the ducky one 2 mecha mini or is it random because I want the red key caps and I see he had the blue ones?
i really love this keyboard but........if i were to buy it is a bit pricey but at the same time not cause of the cast chassis (cringes cause im a fabicator)although it would be a bit better if it was cnc machined cause the finish would be much much smoother but hey other than that and the key aren't hot swap-able it a pretty damn good keyboard and either way my little 15 year old self cant buy it for the moment (yet has a Steelseries M750tkl....lol),just have to save up money somehow with a broken ankle
Every rgb keyboard should do what the ducky does, use clear switches for better rgb lighting. Ive been using razer boards for a few years now and I wish the led was a bit more pronounced between the keys. Just seems like you can only see the light through the letters. Makes using pudding caps that much better.
i have ONE problem with the keys...it's very minor but can greatly affect people that use it for typing. When replacing caps for arrow ones. The J is missing the dot or indention so you can feel the position of your hands!!!!!!!!!
I got the BF/CM Glorious mouse and keyboard bundles for $140 original price $225. It still hasnt arrived yet, but I can not wait to move on from a $10 keyboard to a mechanical one
I am torn, looking to get a unique 60% for gaming. This or the Vortex pok3r slim? I love the look for the pok3r but also the look of this keyboard. I am a cherry red fan so either one has the switches. Badseed I have watched your review and know your love for the ducky, but what do you think for gaming? Mecha or vortex slim? Do you think a regular One 2 Mini pcb would fit in the new aluminum case? If so that would be awesome if they sold just the case with a competitive price point like $40-$50
For 130 usd you can built okay one: gk61 (40-50 usd) (or gk61s but is 70 usd) (cherry switches 30 usd) (taihoa keycaps 50 usd or hyperx keycaps and woodden case for 40 bucks). I myself built for 230 usd (basically cheapest price for decent and more nice overall built which will start to stand out of stock keyboards) : gk61s (70 usd), hyperx keycaps (25 usd), tealios v2 (61 usd), wooden case (40 usd), stabilizers (15 usd) (because stock are very rattly), lube (15 usd)
I think i have to buy this so i can get the shine through accent keys, since i really can't get keycaps anywhere here, all out of stock. Only bad thing is that this cost's about 173 Dollars in US here.
My main gripes with this board are the branding and mainly, the low(er) profile case. The exposed switches just don't look very good in my opinion, as well as the lighting bleed and less protection from dust and such. However, for 120 bucks, it's a fucking steal, not going to lie. Will likely get the white version when it comes out.

I don't really got the point with Redragon 'at the fraction of the cost'. Put PBT keycaps on Redragon and let's talk. I got more quantifiable features at 68$ (+25 if you consider PBT keycaps), you got your religion for probably 120$ which is very ok.
