- Yeeeeeerrrrrr!!!!!! Ya boy AXG is back with a special video long in the making. Being part of the Def Jam competitive scene for about 5 years now one thing that was sorely missing are tutorial videos for people who want to get into playing Def Jam Fight for NY competitively. Throughout the next several months, I will be providing tutorial videos to help you evolve from a novice to a well-respected player to a top tier pro. Just started replaying my copy from back in day didn't realize it was worth so much and continuing to rise. Didn't seem rare back in the day. So Idk why it's like that
@@ConwayKitty it’s the same thing with Urban Reign we didn’t know what kinda good shit we were getting back in the day so everyone is scrambling to collect nowadays. I know I am lol been buying ps2 and ps3 games out of my ass this past year
Nice work bro. The one thing I haven't figures out is how to customize my character in the gym to make a difference. I believe when I was younger I customized my fighter and my haymaker changed, I think I already had three styles but the stats changed how I fought.
Appreciate it. Just to let you know these tutorials I'm doing are more towards the competitive play rather than focusing on created characters. As for customizing your character in the gym, the moves are preset based on the styles you chosen. To make your created character stronger, you go through story mode to gain more development points to boost the stats (I prefer you do it on hard difficulty as you get more development points that way)
One thing I have to say is that every time I try that combo string while the stun on the wall I can manage to get to two hits in while their on walls the third hit I get that in but it’s time for the environmental attack the opponent escapes from me lol I don’t if have to keep learn the exploit of these strings I dunno
I'll go further in depth with wall combos and environmental moves when I get the time to record but it could be one of 3 reasons:
-Not fast enough reaction wise
-Opponent not stunned enough to stay on the wall
-The character you play might not be able to get 3 hits on the wall without exploiting a certain tech I will show soon.

Wait, a full momentum meter boosts your damage ?
Thought it was only by performing a blazin taunt which boosts your power and toughness
So the more filled the meter is by doing either taunts or landing hits, the more boosted your stats become
@@AXG1995 Ye, that explains why it's a better option not to straight up perform a blazin move since you'll make it easier for the opponent to get to danger range
But it seems that it does not affect someone's HLTH(dark green bar stat), you won't deplete it faster even while blazin

@@AXG1995 I found something on Reddit. Turn off overlay controller settings on Steam, and it will be fixed. Im no playing this bad boy on 4K 60FPS. What a classic!!!!!
How can you pick up a weapon?

how do i do a grab weapon while the enemy is pinned by an npc or wall to do a weapon animation attack?
I've mentioned it in tutorial #3 but you either walk to the npc or area with the weapon to pick it up. There are moments where the npc next to the one holding the opponent just picks up a weapon n hits him with it instead of just holding it for like 30 seconds

To get up press either the run button or left stick
Get up attack is by pressing kick or punch button
Press the grab button to get up grab
Run button + Left stick to roll in any direction
Press block in the ground to block grounded attacks

How do you perry grapples?
You "counter" grabs by pressing either kick or punch but you have to time it. I mention it in #3 of the tutorial series.

If u can access it I believe so. I don't have an emulator personally so I wouldn't know.
howto get up player on psp pls tell me
Sorry I don't have a PSP...
in the psp version you cant pick up opponents though you can mount them for ground and pound or submit them is your character has submissions in his arsenal.
How do you roll in this game?
Rolling from off the ground I've covered in tutorial video #3 but in short pressing the run button and flicking the left stick up, down, left or right.
For while u stand up, while running just press the block button

Why this game not have in-game manual, there's only small tutorial and just get da fuck out :/
I wouldn't beat on them too harshly since the game was developed in about a year or so. But I agree. You gotta really noticed the tips in the text messages at the beginning of story mode or just learn on your own.
