- Courtney Swain's (Bent Knee) approach to pedals is really unlike anyone else, a full immersion that is always moving and always tasteful. Lucky for us all she is also very generous and willing to tell us how she does it.
Let's see.

what a warm, creative, inspiring hug of a youtube video.
Why have so many people been demoing this vocal pedal with guitars and synthesizers?
This is a top tier comment! lol. Thanks for the laugh.
I don't have any chase bliss pedals yet, but holy cow have I found my new favorite pedal provider. Been watching a lot of videos of the Mood and Generation Loss.
Miss Swain is one of my favorite musicians and people ever, thank you so much for giving her the tools to make such beautiful music ❤
Wow! Vocals thru the mood mk.II is blissfully ethereal
Thanks to Chase Bliss I discovered Swain's music...she is SO talented... I was amazed of her voice and music. it's magical. Thank you for sharing this little piece of heaven
This is really, really lovely! One of the most musical uses I’ve seen online. Can’t wait to receive my pedal this week & start exploring 😁
Incredibly beautiful. Love that you have studio guests like this.
melting to this with headphones on, really beautiful stuff!
So beautiful
Courtney returns me to my obsession with Mood and several of your other pedals. Being long-term sick and in crazy pain that keeps me out of work has always been the impediment to buying the pedals. I worry about the money, about the pedals sitting in the boxes (as other old music hardware in my home now too often remains), if I spent the money, while I roll around in torment or try to distract myself watching videos. This particular video reminds me of the other obvious range of possible outcomes: that the pedals get played and help me find more, mmm, bliss in my better moments. Maybe more thought should follow this comment, before I race to your web thing to indulge my optimism.
Thanks for the lovely vocals and the interesting range of effects on them, all in a helpful video.
love love love this.. really enjoyed "notes to myself" too. thank you chase bliss + courtney!!
Amazing sounds! The Mood is the halo on this angelic voice!
A literal national treasure. Global, even! So great to get an insight into her incredibly creative process! Thank you!
So glad you had Courtney back on the channel. She is incredible!!
This is unbelievably awesome
Some lovely sounds here, and a great demo of fx on vocals. I'm tempted to nick the audio from this video, sample it and smash it through even more fx. I'd get away with it because I never finish / release anything 😂
This is so beautiful.
I’m so hyped for mine to arrive!!
What a beautiful voice! Wish I was pitch perfect like her 💖
she is great !
i'll get one for sure when theyre cheaper / b stock
Amazing.
Goodness this is amazing! Also, When she lost her glasses, I felt that . 😅
Courtney Swain (wether solo or with Bent Knee) is one of the most interesting musician/voice out there. You couldn't have picked a better fit to showcase that pedal
just perfect! but i wish there was an option to rule only decay on time knob in reverb
Well, I can't sing which is the main reason I don't do vocals! But you make a good point, effects belong on everything. This sounds lovely!
Haunting and gorgeous. Instantly makes me want to get a MOOD! Do you folks have any recommendations on how to put a mic into guitar pedals? Not sure if there's anything special I should know about DI boxes, there seem to be a million options
Rolls MP13 or ART TubeMP should do the trick!
@@ChaseBlissAudio Amazing, thanks so much!
@@ChaseBlissAudio Would a Roland VT-4 act as a preamp. I'm trying Shure SM58>VT-4>Mood>Amp but getting no signal at all.
@@higginsjamesallen It should. Double check your signal routing and that all of your patch cables are in good working order. If you are still having issues, contact us at help@chasebliss.com
wow wow wow !!!!!!!!!!
Hey! I'd love to do this as well. Any tips to put a vocal mic through the pedal?
Sweeeeeeeeeeet ❤ 🤘
Hey there!
I just purchased the Mood II, and I'm excited to start playing with it. Specifically, I'm interested in hooking up a mic to it for vocals like in this video. What's the easiest way to do that? Is there specific cables or any additional hardware I'll need?
You'll need a mixer, or a standalone mic preamp (like the ART Tube MP) to get the mic signal up to a useable level.
this is so cool. on the recording side, how are you achieving stereo with only one out?
A couple of our newer pedals let you get stereo in / out with a single jack, you just need to use a TRS cable.

@@ChaseBlissAudio oh hell yea, ty for the reply!
@try and find ones with right-angled jacks though, I got some like the ones linked and they’re kind of a pain as the jacks are not flexible and create big gaps between the Mood and any pedal you plug into on your board
I post a link (maybe I'm not suposed too as comment disappeared?) responding to a comment below about not being able to find right angle TRS to dual mono (left-right). Type "EBS TRS insert cable" in google. I use these on every board I use and build.
@@tompoynton I posted a link (maybe I'm not suposed too as comment disappeared?) about not being able to find right angle TRS to dual mono (left-right). Type "EBS TRS insert cable" in google. I use these on every board I use and build. They apparently just came out with a LONG version too. The usual are 30 cm...
How do you connect a mic to the MOOD? XLR to tele cable??
You'll need a mixer or a standalone mic preamp to boost the mic signal to a useable level before MOOD.
@@ChaseBlissAudio Is there one mic preamp you'll recommend for mood mkii?
@@thelmacappello6828 We don't really have a preference. The Rolls mp13 or ART TubeMP should work great and are pretty pedal board friendly.
What mic would someone use for this?
Any mic really. Preferably though, you'd use something with a tight cardioid pattern and low handling noise to prevent unwanted artifacts/background noise being processed. Additionally, you'll need a preamp before MOOD to get the mic to a workable level. The Rolls MP13 and ART TubeMP are both great options and can both provide Phantom Power for condenser mics.
Not familiar with who this woman is but she's a got a damn good voice. She could be a singer!
She is a singer! Check out her band, Bent Knee
Psychadelic as heck
8 weeks ago I didn’t own a single CBA pedal. Today I own 5. 😂
Hero!
@@ChaseBlissAudio lol

MIND READERS. Lol. Great minds think alike I guess
Put your vox through Thermae and get back to me in 17 months..........
