When Aaron called that new route "The Scenic Route" he wasn't kidding. That looks absolutely beautiful. That area where you took that extra dirt for fill, is now a turn out, so to speak. You did the owner a real good thing. You have real insight. Once the green comes back, it will look even more awesome. See you next time.
You ain't kidding.. it's gonna be a a good place to go for some quiet time or maybe a picnic. Looks great
Looks good u guys good job
Good thing you have a certified rockologist on staff. 🔨
I just can't say enough about the moral support that Aaron provides, every day.
26:25 that poor tree after a life of struggle, rooting itself into that rock, desperate for runoff to drink, and hanging on by half its root system, Mike brought the struggle to an end.
RIP tree
Had to go it was barely hanging on.
Tree at 45:09 really needs to go too, as the roots are now too buried for it to survive.
Plus it'll give an extra foot or two of clearance on that side.
That's what I thought, the Derby dirt crew would start with. Clear the trees off and use them to stabilize the downhill side of the road. When Aaron suggested leaving that tree because it looked so nice, I realized I have a bias towards douglas fir, cedar and arbutus trees because that's what I grew up with here in the Gulf Islands.
What a cool road
Now that was freaking cool! Bet you had pucker power holding you to that dozer seat on the way up that hill.😂
That “scenic route “ was the way to go! I like my trees but that tree in the inside corner next to the rock unfortunately has to go. Love the look of it coming through the rock into the cove. Nice work gentlemen!
That little dozer is a monster!
Nothing like moving a mountain.
If it looks that steep in the video, I can’t begin to imagine how it really looks and is in person. You the man DP.
Over the hill and through the woods to grandmas house we go!!!! 😊
The only word I can think of is AWESOME JOB . That would've taken months to get done in the 1800's Keep on rocking guys. 👍👍👍👍👍
You both did one heck of a job!!
A lot of people don't realize Indiana has every type of landscape you can have! I love my state.
Southern part
Sand dunes in the North and lake front to mountains in the south and everything in between.
Wow. That seems really steep. Glad you softened the top edge.
That 750 case is bad ass!!!!
That was a hard work boys. You did it very well.
You have to be just about standing on your head digging it! WOW 😮 Looks crazy dangerous, y’all stay safe! 🙏🏻👍🏻
It's awesome to hear the excitement in your voice when you can see the vision in a project before you start. You don't learn that. That's talent you're born with Period. Nice work, guys. 👍
Mike, I'm impressed with your choice of route for the road, saving both time and material.
It’s looking really nice. Can’t believe that there was such great dirt there. Thanks again!!!!
That was awesome. I didn't think you could get through that gap, let alone get enough material. I take my hat off to you for your decision that was perfect! 😀
Nice catch on the Widowmaker Mike
This is going to be impressive 💪 maybe even epic
Only problem I see is the tree on the inside of the curve next to the rock has too much dirt around it and will die, so it should come down before it’s dead and falls down.
You made so much progress. Great job, great vid.
Coffee ☕ and dirt perfect 💯 great morning I need more channels like yours
@@BrianSmith-ql5nj thank you 💯✌🏻
This is the best video I have seen.
Thanks
I can’t give it a big enough thumbs up! Reminds me of our property in north west Washington state where I grew up! My brother and I with dad’s supervision ( he checked on our progress and gave advice ) built a road from the top down to the lower acreage! Using horses and hand tools! We had an old wagon and a couple harnesses and the wagon had been modified long ago with a blade on the front. We were on top of a gravel bar and had a lot of big shale formations in the ground so we did 80% with pick axe, breaker bars and shovels only using the horses to haul shale first and after we dug out the road and collected enough shale we shoveled it out of the wagon by hand then the horses and wagon spread it more even then we switched to gravel and repeated the process ! We hated my dad that summer but when we finished and drove a two wheel drive truck up and down the road , the sense of accomplishment was amazing! Anytime I start to think something is impossible I reflect on that summer!
thanks for sharing a priceless story!
Personally I'd of loved to have been there with un's doing that one. I loved making foot trails in the deep woods of Sequoia Park area in Ca. Most were done illegally but I never claimed to follow the laws explanation of right from wrong while living in the woods alone off and on through out my adult life. Thanks for sharing.
Videos like this is what makes your channel better than all the rest. You take on a tough job and make it work. That and Aaron’s perfect bucket dump. This video may go viral. lol.
Thanks
I totally agree with this guy's comment on your content every job is getting more and more challenging and interesting at the same time.
I use to watch alot of let's dig but have gotten bored with his jobs and really relate to your stuff much more because it ties in with the types of work I take on as an owner operator...
Keep it coming buddy and I'm gonna ( send) Aaron a plane ticket for a few days to come shoot videos for my channel... kinda hard to keep getting off the excavator every time I have to move the GoPro 😂
Prime example of making what seems impossible possible. Vision and skill to the fore in this build. Awesome work and good to see two of you looking after each other for safety. LOL great bucket deposit MBTS.
Rock on Fred and Barney
There’s something deeply satisfying about a nicely cut Box-Cutting, especially through rock.
Agreed
Interesting to go back and see Matt discuss this job.
Where do you find that at? Thank you I guess I lost track of him a little bit unintentionally. That castle was a rascal and lost interest
@@paulprigge1209 Matt’s channel is NYA Millennial. It was months age in the fall or earlier.
I wondered how on earth you'd fix that grade when Matt bid the job for you. What a fantastic, elegant, and practical solution. It's a shame that the tree clinging to the cliff had to go, but the mere fact that you just touched it with the bucket and it fell, showed how precarious it was. What an awesome job you two did. And Mike, the fact that you would take over for Aaron when the dozer work got a bit sketchy is such a good thing. Something I've come to expect from you. Looking forward to the completion of this fascinating project. Thanks for sharing. Aaron, good videography.
Have you considered a ripper attachment for rocks?
Wow, that is steep, easy to see just how intense that had to be for you guys. Very cool road. I was thinking about how the roads were built in our national parks while I was watching this video.
Very cool project!
Damb that Little dozer is impressive power in a small package !!
Another great road project with beautiful scenery and interesting challenges. A job well done!
The camera didn't do justice to just how steep that was at around 45:00m until you saw the Dozer going up it.
Can see now why Aaron lost his bottle & didn't want to drive it up the slope, that would have felt unbelievably steep sitting inside the Dozer.
Thank you once again. This video and the job ranks right up there with the concrete block work protecting the house from sliding down into the creek. Cheers Steve 🇦🇺
Thanks for the comment
Mike, I liked this series of videos as much as the Mr. Diggs video on the landfill operation
Another great series. Y’all are on a roll.
Thanks
Definitely one of the coolest jobs you guys have done
Thank you Mike and Aaron, I am not going to lie but I really couldn't see it working Mike, but you did it, there are a few big chunks of rock on the right at the top I would give a gentle nudge to just to make sure they will stay there in a large storm, but you are the professional and know what you are doing, so thank you both again for a very entertaining 45 minutes.
Impressive bucket
Treemendous work thinking outside the box DP and mbts
Simply a incredible job. This is my #1 top job video series.
Y’all are truly Rockologist the way yall rocky rock pecked a road through the mountain side Another Awesome Video.
I wish youtube gets a backup alarm filter.
Looks like you just about got this one whipped, looking good guys 👍🏻
Those bucket teeth are amazing and that Case dozer blade is doing the job too.
That looks real nice. Lot of rock smoke in there...
That is a work of art!
I absolutely love and enjoy watching you operating that excavator, it's truly a thing of beauty. 😊 ❤. 😊
Thanks
Best 2 episodes yet. Been watching Dirt Perfect and other excavation series for some time, but this is definitely Top Drawer workmanship. Thx for sharing.
That looks awesome, deciding to blow through that gap was a great choice, and it's great you have a property owner who says "do what you think is best, I'm ok with it".
But then again, you earned his trust through the first few projects. It pays to be detailed and customer-focused.
It's also fitting to have MBTS doing a lot of the dozer work since this was the same property where you found out he'd been taking lessons from Jerry in secret and actually WAS a good dozer operator.
Wow, what a transformation guys! Really looks great. The grade on that is superb and your angles look to be matched up perfectly. It’s really gonna be a nice roadway once it is completed again great job can’t wait to see more of this one! Have a great day.
That Hyundai really does an awesome job. And it's not like you baby that machine. You work it hard And it just takes it. And that is an awesome route you guys did. Once everything settles down the wildlife around there like the deer will use that path to get up that hill. Awesome job guys.
Well thats a cool project. Aaron's doing awesome on the dozer.
Good looking access road even if it’s between a rock and a hard place hello Mike and Aaron. I’m back.
Your vision for the future is a God given talent.
Your solution to creating a road up along the cliff is awesome! I really enjoyed your video and watching how you curved the road between the cliff and the giant broken rock. The road, so far, is looking phenomenal and when completely finished it will be amazing. Great job DP & MBTS and thanks for sharing this video. Very different than your usual jobs, but absolutely great.
DP `The man with a plan`, yet another one that will look absolutely brilliant when finished, great teamwork once again from you both.I`m no machinery expert, I`ll leave that to other followers and you, but I think that in this project the Case has proved her worth..........One further point Mike , thanks for putting me onto `Mr Digg`, I find he easy to listen to, very interesting and enjoyable to watch, good on`ya. 👍👍👍👍
awesome job. looking great. but im worried about all the dirt that you piled up around that big tree on the corner. that usually kills trees when buried like that.
Looking really good so far. I would definitely remove that tree and fill in between the rock cliff and the road. I would also remove that other tree growing on the rock face that was close to the other one that you took down. Can't wait to see the end result.
When the men separate from the boys! Truly awesome job! I thought it couldn't get much better than Jerry flogging the 850J but------.
Yeah that driveway is going to be a conversation piece for all visitors nice guys #1or as Arion would say THE 😊 A TEAM😊
I can’t believe you fought around that tree…it’s gotta go! Thanks for sharing DP!
That little Case sure can push. Insane
Excellent video shooting Arron. Of all the videos that I watch, you do the best and captivate my attention more than all of them. You guys done a great job on this one. The entire flick was very intriguing. Loved watching both the excavator and the 750. Wish I could have been there in person watching this one. Have a great one. Thanks again for making my day. Out of a rating scale 1-10 I give both you guys a 10+ on this one.
That is one nice looking road Mike. I can't wait to see it when you guys get it all connected. I think the homeowner will be more than pleased with the finished job. Keep up the good work gentlemen.
Very cool sculpting!
Awesome unloading of the rock bucket Aaron, lol 😂 that’s incredible brother! 😂😂😂 Can’t wait to see how this road comes out guys! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 That looks like one of those rock climbers trails as steep as that is Mike, you can really see it now with the excavator in front of it! Looks like they should’ve blasted it before yall started! 😳🤷🏼
The scenic route for sure…engineering eyeball marvel!!! 😊😊😊
Fantastic work! Guys! Y’all do wonders! Thanks for sharing! 👌👍
Awesome job so far and its going to be very scenic route for the owner for sure nicely done you guys 👍😎🇺🇸 NY
"little Jerry" is doing great with the dozer.
What a cool project awesome 👍👋🇨🇦
What more could we want !!! clean window , great video shots of rock breaking and dozer action a first class video production and subject. Well done guys 🥇🥇🍺🍺🥰
A neat trick putting the 210 tracks on a felled tree trunk and then breaking it up the tree with the bucket . I don’t recall Chris of Let’sdig18 doing that but I might be wrong (getting old, memory not as good as it used to be)Chris has some great moves catching falling trees in his bucket and then breaking them up !!! You are both excellent operators of machinery 👌😎😎😎
I know there’s a lot of work goes on with these videos behind the scenes so a big thank you Mike 😊
This may be one of your coolest challenges yet. I love the challenge videos. 👍🏻👍🏻
Looks like taking the tree out and getting next to the cliff would be the best way to widen the road. I know that the camera can lie, but you will make the best call on that because You Always Do!!!!!!!!!!
...plus, with that much dirt covering up the node & lower trunk, it's gonna' die anyway & fall over & block the road...she needs to come down.
I am enjoying watching you Guys build that road! Best wishes.
It is amazing some of the projects you and Aaron get involved in, this one is gonna be great.
That road is looking awesome DP and MBTS great video
Great video Mike. This project shows your vision of thinking outside the box on building the road. Aaron does a great job also. Thanks again for sharing.
@1:35 forget the water-bottle flip. Aaron takes it to a whole new level.
Super cool project Mike, great idea.
That looks like Camarata’s land scape right through there. Hard on equipment.
Definitely one of your cooler projects.
Case thought they had designed a nice small bulldozer , turns out it's really a mountain goat with a dozer blade attached to it .
finding new product closer definitely helped. to start it looked like bulk material would have to be moved a far longer distance.
really looks good!
that tree being so buried should go.
Aaron is looking at that hill and his short little legs, nope... "I will stay here and video" lol 😆
Looking good! I can hardly wait to see what it is going to look like! You and Aaron Rock On this job! Thank you for sharing! 😊
The tree you talked about at the end I take it out but by now this job is probably done I would fill it in right tight to that rock for that road but the job is looking awesome
It will be great when they call you out to dig the utilities in😀
Love your mid state language conversion. It's "Between a Rock and a Hard Place". LOL not spot. Love your videos and love it when you get together with Chris and Matt.and even Jon.
Aaron is running the bulldozer great getting the hang of it. That is a nice scenery route. Thanks for the video
Well Mike you tested yourself and the 210 and the dozer on this one and you and Aron got it done great video thanks
DP MBTS y'all get some humdinger of projects definitely a 5 🌟 video I got to see this video during my chemo treatment
7am here ,,,and here you guys are! lol ,,Coffees on, i'll get us some breakfast, be right back ,,!! Here we go! Cheers!;-)!
4:00 am and wee on the nippy side. :)
Amazing day two...and quite the feat of engineering...great when your vision becomes reality you guys run that equipment with an awesome skill set...Well done fellers. Appreciate you sharing your day with us.😎👨🔧🚜🇺🇸😂🙏
