@Jason Frawley I feel ya on that part that would’ve been epic. The predator screams after his worthy kill and Naru did the same after she killed him. Comin from a Native American perspective, her war cry at the end was entitled.

    • @4Everlast
      @4Everlast 2 роки тому

@@liverenders It's a tricky one to answer, let's take the original Predator as a prime example of a "good-dirty" film, it gives the film style so much richness it's hard to describe. Adds to the atmosphere as well. It's gritty, it's thick, it has to be do to the use of the classic film reel. But when you film something in ultra HD or 4K or what ever the F they shot Pray with, it all looks like a behind the scene footage, or any other music video, crisp and clear.
So they add this CGI gloss I'd say(not sure if i'm right, but i did see it being used) or rather fake-gritt, to make the film look shoot on actual film. Marvel uses something similar, but they're not trying to get the film look, but rather an actual gloss to hide any potential CGI mistakes etc.

Both of them did such a great job on the film. I've heard people complain about the lack of emotion shown, but we're talking about a different culture 300 years ago. Very few basement experts have any idea how their society functioned or how their people were taught to process emotions. I found all of it very appealing and suspenseful. I especially liked the dynamic of them together. Despite being the alpha of the tribe, he loved and respected his little sister and tried to give her opportunities throughout, right up to the point where he had to sacrifice himself for her because he believed she had the tools to stop it.

Really good movie, awesome. I really liked the idea of Feral being less paitent and more brutal than the Jungle and City Hunters, more arrogant, showing the fact that this was his first hunt on Earth where as the previous Yautja were more seasoned, they kept their distance in combat, Feral just went in impatiently against the tribe and the fur hunters resulting in him being injured.
I would have preferred it if Taabe survived a bit longer until the final fight, Taabe/Naru vs. Feral, sacrifices himself so that Naru has a window of opportunity to deliver the killing hit. Still, it was really well done.
Looking forward to the sequel! Bring it on!

I found myself pleasantly surprised - the Predator franchise has had it’s share of mediocre outings, so to be honest I wasn’t expecting much. Prey went back to the visceral core of the first film - so that definitely was a plus. I appreciated Naru’s growth during the film - she doesn’t start out as the ultimate warrior and has her fair share of close calls. The predator race - the Yautja - for the most part are an honor bound warrior race - albeit brutal - and adopt weaponry that is appropriate for whatever they are hunting - I sometimes think that people forget that, but was glad to see that represented in this film. I also appreciate that during Naru’s final battle with the Feral we must recognize that he had been shot multiple times, speared and beaten and engaged a full grown grizzly in hand-to-hand combat…… I’m glad they did all of this damage to the predator prior to the final battle because frankly a teenaged human being is not going to fare very well in solo battle with a creature of it’s physical size and ability - so that was realistic and appropriate. All in all, I think this was for the most part a successful showing for one of my favorite franchises, I thank all involved!

yes but i stil think in the last fight some things where abit unbelievable, would have been better if that guy was there with her tagg teaming him, that she pulls a heavy male predator into quicksand like it weighs nothing was not believable, also that predator hold up a bear like its nothing yet when he hold her in the floor she is strong enuf to push herself between the rocks was also unbelievable if he is that strong there is no way she can budge herself like that, and also he knows his weapons so when he shoots at the last moment and hits himself in the head not realy believable he would reconize the dots and move intime.

I grew up on the original Predator and even by todays standards, I think it would still be a hit had it come out now for sure. That said, Prey surprised me and I really enjoyed it. It was a non stop thrill ride with some really cool action and suspense. They really don't make movies like this too much any more. It was really awesome to see a period piece that features the Comanche tribe as action stars. The only criticism that stands out to me is that I wish that they stayed in the main characters point of view the whole time in the first act. If we the audience had a first real look at the Predator at the same time that she did then it would have had more impact. Seeing it so much earlier on felt unnecessary. Otherwise, this is actually one of my favorite movie experiences this year.

@@anthonyplanzo1082 , steaming would generate more profit than a theater with this type of film based on budget and efficiency. There are many films that didn't do well in theaters because people assumed it was going to be clithe or simply not worth watching but later ended up being gems on a streaming service. These gems could have generated more interest had it been just simply streamed in first place. Plus, it really not worth watching movies in most theaters these days, at least not really dynamics films because they are still using old projection and audio technology. Movies look really washed out and/or contrast-y at my local theaters because the projector its dated and most recent films target Dolby Vision and HDR10 (+10 BIT Displays) when grading.

      Don't get me wrong
      But
IT WAS ALL PLOT ARMOR, NO HUMAN COULD EVER CAN DEFEAT ANY YUTJA (If you can understand Realistic logic, behavioral patterns, Strength , Speed, Intelligence of a Yatuja you know this), all predator films should have been complete survivor type of ,movies, where final man/woman running or crawling on the ground from injuries and begging for their lives or get rescued by bigger team and never to return to it's territory
Although she took tactical advantage, Yutja are smart enough to recognize Trap patterns a,hell they're born as hunters
And we're talking about Intergalactic travelers which they are already smart enough to surpass any humanly possible thinking patterns [NOT Philosophy ]
They want to collect DNA and as Trophies to become the APEX PREDATOR species "even among their own other predator clans "
This is why they hunt from planet to planet and continue to evolve
Besides all that I Enjoyed the movie as it is
      Excellent one

I loved "PREY"! For me, it's the best Predator. I loved the relationship between Naru (female lead) and her brother. He believed in her, gave her an opportunity to become a hunter and never dismissed her early on when she talked about seeing the Predator. The action scenes with Naru especially with other humans were some of the most realistic I've seen in movies involving females. It seemed more grounded and believable. The only little nitpick was that the Predator was a little too overpowered and it's speed was ridiculous. It's speed rivaled a Cheetah. The visuals/cinematography was stunning. Absolutely beautiful movie. The score is awesome and just adds to the intensity. The acting was solid including Sarii (the dog) played by Coco!

BRILLIANT 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🎥🖋🎥🎥💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼You can forget all the tent pole releases the summer, this cinema masterpiece is 10 out of 10 , balls to the wall - absolute girl power brilliant. It’s got everything from a magnificent story, superbly cast, an absolutely stoic protagonist and some stunning cinematography along with cultural, classic, storytelling that far exceeds the original predator that thing is just mediocre compared to this masterpiece. If there’s one feature you see this summer - This is it. The writers director and producers of this really deserve applause. It’s so incredibly hard in todays industry to pull off something fantastic from a tiresome franchise so long ago and yet this one does it through and through 1000 %. From it’s opening right down to the final credit. GO TEAM💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

What a great movie! The only thing I didn't particularly care for was the movie being in English. This movie should have followed the style of Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto" with subtitles being that Prey was an all Native American Indian cast representing the Comanche Nation. I would have loved to hear how they interact and spoke the language. Now I know a lot of people don't care for "reading a movie" in subtitles, but this movie had a lot of action scenes with not too much dialogue, so I think they could have pulled it off in their native tongue with subtitles for us English speaking humans! lol. Still, a great movie! Better than the first one!
