I did as well after watching your video i put same bottle in my plant and make only one hole i fill it up. So my family water plant like normal so water keep stored in bottle as long as there is moisture around when they forget to water the plant bottle water start working for 1 weeks plus i didn't check the exact day but i fill it whenever i realized i need to check. This is most accurate water supply even better then drip or tap errigation by other methods. Underground bottles only work when plant need it highly recommend
It works very well all the time. I'm trying it this yr for the first time without my working well. 😥... Wish me luck, I'm doing some video tracking of my gardening journey. Its been a learning curb for sure.
I tried this once and it worked well but I got sick and tired of filling the bottles with water. Also, in hot sunny areas the bottles have to be dug deep beneath the soil with just the tops sticking out of the soil because the sun can and does make the water very hot.
Just make 1 small hole with small needle and use big water bottle. Or you can use the bottle with tap also. Just do setting like every 2 to 3 minutes 1 drop should fall in ground.
@Steve K @Geonison good day guys GOD bless you and your family's in Jesus Christ name, the holes can get bit of soil blocked but water molecules are very small and eventualy tru osmosis the plants will get their water.
Amazing video, a quick question. Why did you drill some inches above the the bottom of the bottle instead of doing it right at the bottom of the bottles? My reason being, what happens to the water that is in the bottle below the holes?
Thank you for your comment and for visiting my channel. I am very glad that you liked my video. Good luck in all your endeavors and good health. You will succeed.

I'm using for my plant box of tomatoes. I put two in each box but I'm curious as to why one bottle consistently empties quicker than the other (like every time). Maybe its a stupid question but I had to ask. :) It works very well though! I filled these bottles up and was out of town for seven days. I was afraid to open the shades when I got back expecting to see a brown dead mess. But the plants were all green, healthy looking, standing up and even grew!
The idea is great! But what aabout caps - i believe they sould be slightly opened so vacuum is not created preventing water from dripping off a bottle.
Yes holes too small, no flow. or container too rigiid. When container flexs, say from breeze or heat expansion, chance for drips to flow even from small hole. Yes hole size is significant. Too, big, too much flow. Wicking using cotton fabric, through holes might be better than just holes. Also PET plastic bottles are bad news unfortunately. PFAs, phthalates, bisphenol, antimony, all sorts of junk. Try to use glass stainless, ceramic, silicone; something that won't mess with your endocrine system. Wicks may be better then - hard to drill holes in glass bottles!
Just wondering if this system can also be used to fertilize the crop. If you put the fertilizer in the water will it disolve enough to come out with the water???
Yes, it can. I use them to water and to add fertilizes. I also put my water drip holes lower but NOT on the bottom. I tried that... 😥 They get clogged. 😆 Then got dig up new hole... Not good.

because you need the water to be a little bit close to the roots area. If too deep, the plants will grow their roots too long to go find water.
