Billy Idol is the Elvis Presley of punk rock. He embodies the rebellious and fearless spirit of late 70s punk mixed with the magnetic dancing performances of the mid 50s rock n’ roll era. The fact that he chose Steve Stevens as his guitarist also gave him a melodic heavy metal/hard rock edge. This unique combination of styles contributed to his success and authenticity.
Well, that's the image he was going for, so him and his fans would probably like that comment. Not sure if anyone else would agree though. Elvis was a pioneer, bringing black music to a white audience. I wouldn't say that Billy Idol did the same thing for punk. Punk was already going on in the US with the Ramones and others, and they weren't black. Definitely, it was a combination of different types of music and his look, along with jumping on the music video bandwagon that helped propel his music to the forefront of suburban white teenaged English-speakers of the early 80s. No offense I like him, but his saliva sounds really turning me off... eww gross...
I have not heard any such thing! Yesterday, I wanted to murder the lady in Ted Talk, she was doing exactly what you said. I pressed play again while I type and not watching him, there's absolutely ZERO saliva sounds. You sure you got the correct vid??? O_o
@Mike Fernandez LOL!!
God I’m wheezing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That would be the cocaine habit he had. Sniffing constantly.
I loved Billy Idol when I was in high school and that passed. I happened to see his Rebel Yell video w miley cyrus and expected to be disappointed. I was surprised and then saw his interview on David Letterman . Honest intelligent and dont give a fuck what you think. Its part of why I liked him for sure. I once read a letter to the editor of Rolling Stone complaining how a writer who interviewed him acted like a high school girl w a crush in her article. I now see why. Never read or saw an interview with him until a few days ago.. new respect
Petey , thanks for watching. I was pretty impressed myself.
His skin is flawless
Did he say be a pirate
@@bellasue02well yeah he was like 22!
