I have one of these racks, purchased brand new, and that front hook is somehow loosening up and twice the front tire on my bike has either come partially or all the way out of the cradle. It seems that the black 'box' piece holding the shaft of that cradle bar is a bit wobbly. Anyone have this problem? I purchased this from a local rack warehouse (didn't have them install) and I'm going to go in with it tomorrow to see if they can tell me what the issue is. Today, I locked the bike just so it wouldn't fall off the car and drag if the wheel came all the way out. Jeez. I paid over $300 for this thing!!!
Do not buy the Thule bike rack. I had this type (2 Bike slots Thule back rack with the Pin lock) stolen from my car overnight. That pin lock is not anti-theft as advertised. I paid like $500 for that rack and it got stolen overnight!
@@RohitKumarBatra It's only a detourant. If you were going to leave bikes outside in the open on the back of a vehicle, you should have used a steel chain around the frame of the bike and then secured that to the hitch itself. This lock isn't intended to be an end all lock, it's just meant to detour people from removing it. There's a reason bike messengers in NY use big heavy chains...

@@RohitKumarBatra not an issue with the rack, that’s all on you as to where park/store it. A zip saw will remove any lock you can think of in less than 30 seconds.

No. The T1 does not tilt down (away from the vehicle) for trunk access. However, I can access my Honda Civic hatchback both with my bike on the tray, and also when there is no bike and the rack is in the folded up position.

@@AustinRoss I did not have any bikes there. I am just talking about the rack itself!!
Will this rack work with a fat bike that has 27.5x4.5” tires...?
Yes! It can fit a tire size up to 29" and 5" wide.

Will a thule add on works with this one?
No. The Thule add-on does not work with the T1 single bike carrier. This is just for one bike, and has no expansion capabilities.

Does not work with bikes with fenders unfortunately.

Nothing is anti-theft if thieves want it bad enough.
