Yea, I finally had the sense to watch one of these things AFTER I ate dinner. And apples! This is perfect.

You always have such great recipes. Many years ago I had an apple cake at a (now closed) mom & pop restaurant. It had the most apple flavor. I loved it but was unable to find a recipe that gave that distinct apple flavor. I am excited to try this recipe. You've never let me down before. Thank you!

Super! I’ve been wanting to bake this apple cake for months and I just made it. It is full of apple flavor and has a tender, moist, delicious crumb. Definitely going in my keeper recipe file.

Darn you two broads! You've made me drool again. And the cake looks really good too. It's so apple-y and moist looking.

Hi there. i made this last night and found it to be very dense. I followed the ingredients and directions exactly. I'm wondering if I used too much apple? it says 3 cups grated apple - maybe i packed the cup too much?

Great flavor, but my cake was very dense. Is it a heavier cake? From the videos and photos, it comes across as lighter in texture than mine did. But amazing apple flavor!

    Organic? I’m in.
But I now cut back on all these super sweet baked goods. No need for all that sugar since you have apples in it.

Christopher Kimball was the one of the founders of America’s Test Kitchen and Cooks Country. He left the company and created his own show, “Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street”. The format is similar; however, his show features him traveling to culinary hot spots around the world. Then going back to his Boston studio, on Milk Street, to reinterpret the dishes for the home cook.
