This time we're checking out The Dining Room by Refuel in BENIDORM, a place with a menu as fancy as the decor!
We were so excited to try this top-rated restaurant (and yes, it's a bit on the pricier side), but as you might guess from our thumbnail title … things didn't exactly go according to plan! Was it a total disaster? Click on the video to find out why The Dining Room didn’t quite live up to our high expectations! Let's see what went down! ️

Thanks James. To be honest, we think we were very unlucky with that meal. As we said, the starters were beautiful, the service was good and the decor was lovely. It was a real disappointment that the main courses didn't live up to the rest ❤️🍷🙏

Good to have you with us, Lorraine! The starter was beautiful but the main course was very disappointing. We were extra disappointed because we'd saved The Dining Room for the last day of our holiday and we had been really looking forward to it. ☹️ Thank you for sharing your experience of The Dining Room, though. Great vlog guys ❤ We have watched a few benidorm ones and we now know we definitely stayed on the wrong side 😮 We are looking at staying at the Innside hotel xxx

stick with refuel, although its gone quite expensive, Sherries is my new favourite.
We reviewed the breakfast at Refuel on a previous visit and it was lovely, Parody. We've also reviewed Sherry's but we thought that was just OK 🧡👍🤔

Thanks Chris! We filmed this on our last night in Benidorm so we were well chilled-out by then! We chose The Dining Room as a special lady night treat which made it doubly disappointing 😕
A great & honest review
The starters looked really tasty but the mains let it down
The restaurant didn’t look that busy to have allowed the food to be served lukewarm
2 Prawn Cocktails & a nice bottle of red only 😄
Hi LVP. You are right, the restaurant wasn't that busy but there are tables outside as well and the lady who was talking so loudly kept detaining our waitress. We think they just didn't have enough staff, despite it not being overly busy 😕 xx

As far as nightlife goes do you prefer Benidorm or Torremolinos? And do you have a preference overall (not just nightlife) I’m trying to decide which of the 2 to go to for my next holiday.
Hi Steve. Benidorm is much bigger than Torremolinos so there's way more going on there. We've spent a lot more time in Benidorm than in Torremolinos but we have videos on other things to do in both places, apart from boozing 😆 Personally we prefer Benidorm but you'll have a great time whichever destination you choose 🤔🦀✈️
@@thechatterguys Thanks, I’ve been to torremolinos years ago (about 15 years) but went with a str8 friend so only went to a few gay bars and didn’t really see all of the scene, I can’t really remember much of the place tbh, I’ve never been to Benidorm before. I’m travelling solo and still choosing between the 2. Thanks for your reply 👍🏻
We think Benidorm is probably more sociable than Torremolinos. If we were travelling solo we'd probably choose Benidorm for that reason. All the LGBT+ bars in Torremolinos are grouped together in an area called The Nogalera. We have a video on it but it's a couple of years old now.

@@thechatterguys Thanks for your advice. If I remember (albeit vaguely) I think torremolinos was more catered to Spanish tourists and locals, maybe not completely but I think I remember a vast difference say compared to when I’ve been to Gran Canaria, I could be wrong, it was a long time ago I was in torremolinos. I’m slightly edging towards Benidorm though, I think October time. I appreciate your advice. Thank you.
Hi Steve. We agree, Torremolinos has a very cosmopolitan vibe. Benidorm has too, but it has British and Irish quarters where it's easier to socialise because there isn't a language barrier. The weather in Benidorm in October is perfect - nice and warm but not boiling 🥵 hot 🔥 🩷🥙👍
Serving cold food isn't going to win you many returning customers 😮 Great video

They do a decent offer before 5pm but they've over charged me the last three times I went in and the service is pactchy of an afternoon as the focus is on refuel
If you've not been to gusto yet opposite, the mixed grill is fab and the stuffed meatballs are amaze x
Thanks for your recommendation, Smeter. Gusto was our first choice for this meal, but they were fully booked all the time that we were in Benidorm. Hopefully, we'll be able to reserve a table there next time! 👍🌈🙏
Why's it cold surely there doing something wrong?
We think they left it too long between plating the food up and bringing it to the table, Wolverine 🐺
