My Home Made CNC Z-Axis Touch Plate

Here is my home made Z Axis Touch Plate
While building my all steel CNC router Z axis • Home Made CNC Z Axis
I realized it was an ideal time to build and configure a Z-Axis Touch plate
to Zero the Z-Axis for stock or tool bit changes.
I have built these before, and they are simple. Use any switch you have at hand,
some metal or plastic block to glue the switch on, and two conductor wire.
The tricky part is wiring the USB Mach3 Control Board and configuring Mach3 for the
USB board and the visual basic routine. I go into detail on how to wire, configure and program the Mach3 key - check it out!

HELP Steves!! LOL I have set my ports and pins input to IN4... 3 - 4 as shown. I unchecked the the active low. (when it is checked the digitize light is on as shown) My Z will come down after a short delay. It will not stop. I checked the continuity on my wires. Just spent 2 days trying different settings with no luck. Suggestions?

Hi Bill, thanks for watching the video! I was using my machine yesterday and used the auto Z feature several times and it is working perfectly. Let me go out to the shop and see the settings and I will update you. The easy way to test it, is click the auto zero button, and then after it counts down and starts to move, press the button (do not use a bit as you are testing the feature). It should stop and say "Auto Zero Completed" and raise up about .6 of an inch. I will get back to you in an hour or so.
