    Not flying back with the team to take a weekend off after going 0-4 is probably the best way to lose the respect of your peers, let alone subordinates or players.

    Any college coach with that much success coupled with the scandals amongst his staff has already proven he doesn’t have the best judgement when it comes to non football related issues. This should be no shock to anyone that has been paying attention to his entire career. Not every great college coach has the list of scandals that Urban has.

    Several years ago I saw Tom Izzo at a restaurant with a group of assistants. A girl approached him with a drink in her hand for a pic. He made her put the drink down. She then put her arms around his torso in sort of a bear hug and told her ‘no’ and put his arms around her shoulders for a normal pic. Izzo gets it.

    That was the closest they got to a win this season, looked like they are starting to figure things out. If Meyer was truly invested in making this a winning team, he would have flown back with his team eager to use what they learned Thursday to prepare the team for next week. Another college coach still living the college "Frat Boy" life.

    Even the players who say he shouldn't be fired were incredibly surprised that he didn't take the flight home with the team, I think that's the biggest red flag. If this had happened in Jacksonville after the coaches put in a full day at the facilities, I think the players aren't nearly as upset. Skipping the flight was such a bone head move and the fact that nobody there corrected it means he's not surrounded by good people...or at least people who feel they can disagree with him.

    I’m from Jacksonville and never got the Urban hype when he was hired. He did great things at Florida but looking back, he didn’t really lead them to be great men and when the going got tough, he folded.

    The only thing dumber is William Clay Ford insisting that Matt Millen become the GM of the Lions. Despite Millen's reply that he wasn't qualified.

    Rich is absolutely right. This was inexcusable. These guys need to realise that college and NFL are not the same. College is about teaching kids how to play, and winning championships to get your college funds and whatnot. NFL is about dealing with wage-earning employees that are grown millionaires with families. It's a totally different language - in all meanings of the word 'language'

    The statement was clear. Meyer lost trust and respect. It sounds like grounds for dismissal. The Jags bye week is in two weeks. If he will be fired during the season, that's when it will happen. If the team doesn't look good against the Titans and Dolphins, it may end quickly for Meyer.

    It's not really the pictures that make this all so bad. It's when it happened, where it happened, how he was even in Columbus in the first place and him cancelling Monday practices that will be the end of his professional coaching career. None of it is the behavior of a professional.

After the Peach Bowl last season, Georgia players said the UC defense was the best they faced all year and the D is largely intact from last year. They are stifling. I would look for a shut out.

      Him wanting to hire the strength coach who’s currently being sued by black former Iowa players is a prime example of how absentminded he is. That coach ridiculed and disrespected black college players and Urban initially hired him into a league where the majority of the players are black; and he thought it wouldn’t be a big deal?
