@@genuinekid6701 And it happened...650 hp in the new 992 Turbo S. the question should be, who the hell buys this vacuum cleaner shit car? Of course only old fucks. You can only buy a GT3 or GT3RS in the 911 lineup, that's it.
Shivam Kaushal I'm old and flush enough to buy this car, but it had to be said for once. I don't understand how people can throw their money literally out of the window and buy this emotionless car.
You people need to stop comparing a Nissan GT-R to Turbo S. A GT-R is a giant GT car which weighs over 200kg more and has less power and costs half as much as the Turbo S. If Nissan wanted to outperform Turbo S they would do it but that's not their goal. Imagine if it was and a Nissan starts manufacturing GT-R's with 580PS (same as the Turbo S) with just 1600kg net weight and a new 7-speed dual clutch transmission. And now imagine what else would be possible if the price tag was 200k+ EUR. Turbo S is a great car but costs way too much in my opinion.
Well the GT-R is 570ps ... so not far from your 580ps, and 7 speed DCT will only help on fuel economy (911 PDK is geared to top speed in 6'th and 7'th is ~275mph). Also the time when it cost 1/2 is long gone ... GT-R Nismo (600hp) is $175k (10k less than the 991.2 TS) and GT-R track is $130k (2/3 of the 911). So they did produce a GT-R with 600hp ... that still performs worse than the 560hp TS (unless you keep the semi-slick on the Nismo, and street tires on the TS). So if they could drop the weight with 175kg, it would be $200k+ ... and on par (Nismo is low volume, so price goes up, and still inferior interior). How much should the Turbo S cost? (I would like it to be $1 ... but I don't think that's possible). And Porsche do make more money per car than other mfg, so they could lower the price with $10k if they did not want to make money ... but that does not make sense for a company ... to sell stuff cheaper than the market is willing to pay.
goguhu, it's still 200 kg heavier and Turbo S still costs twice as much (even more actually). In Germany a Nissan GT-R without options costs €99,900 and a Turbo S will set you back without options over €205,000. And 570PS compared to 580PS doesn't seem like a big deal but if one car weighs almost 200kg more it becomes a big deal. A Nismo GT-R is a track car and therefore is quicker around a track than a Turbo S. No one said it's quicker of the line but around a track it eats Turbo S for breakfast. A Turbo S is a €150 to 165k car at best. And Nismo's Dunlop maxx gt 600 is not a semi slick tire. It is however a very good dry weather tire.
The Owner Yes the dunlops are Road legal, but they are next to useless on a wet surface (see 1.6L gold diesel beating gtr on a wet lap). When it comes to eating Porsche for breakfast, you have it upside down, 991.2 beat gtr nismo on all tracks they both have set a time on, with the exception of goodwill. Where the 911 set the time in the wet (raining) and the nismo in the dry. The same day the 911 set its time the gtr was 10sec slower on a 60s track ... yes 600hp does not fully compensate for the extra 200kg, and with the worse torque curve the nismo need around 640hp to compete with the turbo. Don't let the internet fanboys trick you to think the gtr is unbeatable. It was a great buy when it came out, but its no longer in the elite. I was taking about cost in US, other countries might have different relative pricing for various reasons. fastestlaps.com/comparisons/7g5sbrl0aojt
goguhu, I actually don't care what fanboys have to say and I agree that those Dunlops are useless on a wet track. I still think these two cars are not in the same class even though they're both specified as sport cars, I think one is a bit more on the sport side than the other. The best comparison for 991.2 Turbo S would be a Huracan, Audi R8 or McLaren 570S. GT-R is just too "big" to compete with any of them in a straight line speed.
I agree, I was just pointing out that the 991.2 Turbo S is actually faster than the GT-R Nismo (and even so with stickier tires) at similar price ($185k vs $175k), while being more compliant as a daily driver.
Partivi dall'Autolavaggio Villa a Carate Brianza, per poi sfrecciare come uno squilibrato con la Porsche 991 Turbo S, targata FC131MK (ufficiale Porsche Italia in prova per la stampa) a 302 Km/h, superando il limite di ben 192 Km/h. 91 vs 93 octane is not the real issue, the real issue if they have added E10 to the gas. There is a significant difference on both power and mileage (you get ~32mpg @ 80mph with 91, but it drops to 26-28 if it's E10).

It actually has 0, 50, 100, etc.

the road has to be really wet for a 911 turbo to spin tyres
And it only did a 3.5 0-100, whereas it actually does a 2.5 (0-60 mph, maybe 2.6 for 0-100 km/h)
Could be on summer tires and lower temperatures.
it was obviously cold.look at the sleeve of the big red puffy coat.when he first got in the car.
below the clock is the temperature : 4.5 C
stock tires kinda suck. mine spins a little unless im on a really good street surface/warm tires.
wow man, WOOW!

Are you going to post a video of sounds, night driving, day driving (POV'S), etc like with the Boxster and X6M?
